I'm totally sure the meta will change with this patch, I mean mage items are magically becoming worse, support items are being nerfed and exhaust is being reworked to actually not be a "im going to put this on the squishy all in melee assassin every 2nd teamfight so he literally cant do anything and just dies since he is slowed, armor/mr shreded and deals 0 damage"

oh wait none of these are happening and riot is instead nerfing all the assassins along with the runes they use

What you want when picking a champion are the following:
1. CC (the more the better)
2. Good Damage
3. Safety (in lane and teamfights)

This will lead you to champions like Kennen, like Caitlyn, like Amumu, like Orianna and so forth. Which are all solid. Moving away from this you might move towards damage heavy champions that lack in other departments (Akali) or just champions who have possibly low numbers and drag you down compared to others (think Kali without a Braum/Ali support).

You can win with anything, sure, but those are three guidelines to pick by.

I actually have played a lot of Yorick, but he's sort of difficult in a way that you can't just come back from behind. He's so easy to gank and while he has some opportunities to put a stop to ganks with his W, you can't control the ghouls to your favor if you get to summon them.

The bad thing as well is that I have a terrible winrate with him in Ranked.

My weakness at the moment is that I don't ward as much as I should. I should work in general over vision because I realized that both ganks that I received were due to some small poor map awareness when Sejuani ganked, and when Syndra went missing and ganked my ass afterward.

This match was against Jax, so, after I had 1v1'd him, Sejuani and Syndra helped Jax up to snowball out of control. Every 1v1 afterward was simply to his favor because of the unexpected damage.

I feel like the big differences between someone like Illaoi and Yorick are that their cooldowns on R are just so big. Illaoi's R just gets off cooldown after going to base and walking down bot, while Yorick has like nearly two minutes of cooldown.

How on Earth are you supposed to play Yi? I can clear the jungle well enough, and duel other people decently, but when it comes to chasing down kills it just feels like people can literally walk away from me, even with Youmuu's+Ult+Ghost up. And that's not even getting into teamfights, where I either go in after our tank initiates and get blown up immediately, or hang back and be worthless.

I just want to know what I'm doing wrong, goddamnit.

I'll explain everything, and why is it good, or why it isnt. of course whatever i'm saying is not etched in stone, i'm just a low dia shitter

First and foremost, the keystone mastery with the most value to yorick is Stormraider's surge. His whole gameplay revolves around the

>go in like a motherfucker
>deal damage
>kill everyone or run away
model, and stormraider's has perfect synergy with it. Also it helps you escape ganks if you can land a little damage on the enemy laner or jungler.

Grasp is nice for fighters, but yorick doesn't have as much use for it. Grasp is good for champs that have a weaker laning phase and have to have some little extra to threaten the enemy laner when their abilities are on cooldown. Yorick doesn't need that, because if you set up a couple graves, you can be a constant threat everytime, also you get sustain from your q anyways.

Also this is why feast is not good enough, because it doesn't improve yorick's laning phase as much as it would for a champion without sustain, and in the lategame it becomes borderline useless.

Also this is why the whole ferocity tree is kind of shit for yorick. You don't need attack speed, but you don't deal damage from abilities either. Double edged sword sucks because you don't have burst, but you can get blown up in some situations. I explained feast. Exposed weakness could work, but since every single other ferocity mastery is mediocre for yorick, it's not worth it. Ghouls don't apply lifesteal or spell vamp, and you don't have a use for ap. You have one brief slow as cc so opressor isn't an option, but you're also not going to roam around the map and kill multiple people to get the sweet +5% damage bonus.

In conclusion, the ferocity tree goes into the trash.
