If you feel like looking for a better FastCharge charm, you can try the Silver Sol/Lodestar brainless set. Full Dreadking and Grimclaw are pretty nice too, but they require a +5 OOO.

Novice will give you a 10% increase per shot, and Expert 20%. This can be significant since RF crags down drop in damage. You should get at least Recoil Down +1 then get the Artillery skill you can fit.

Well first, don't attack right before her turn, because that's how you get hit.
Second, the tail spin has a big tail, and the attack will pull her forward. So when you see she's going to do it, roll to the side, but also to the back (unless you're still somewhere around the head when she does it, in which case you're fucked).

It wouldn't be the same weapon type, necessarily, but the Brachy weapons were really strong because Slime (now Blast) literally did double the damage it does now, so it was flinch city. There were some non-Brach weapons that were really good, though. GS had Cera Memetry, the Hammer had Grongigas, the Lance had Rising Tempest.

Everyone I ever asked told me to get Recoil Down +2 for God's Island and Recoil Down +3 for the Lost Musket, but I don't know -why- they told me to. I imagine it's so you're not fucked on recovery or something, so maybe not needed to actually RF, but impractical not to have.

The game gets boring very quickly compared to other MH. Styles are either completely easy mode or utterly useless, same with arts. Too many quests you have to initiate to complete, including Deviants. Not to mention everything is fucking slow.

Unless you're done with 4U and 3U and desperately want a new game, skip it.

Both deviants and Hypers offer challenges close to G rank levels of difficulty so challenge isn't that much of an issue.

Yeah, I think it's a great game, maybe not as good as 4U since it doesn't have G rank, but still pretty fucking good.

Also, as I said before if arts and styles aren't your thing you can just ignore them, also keep in mind, the monsters in the demo are just low rank, they become much more challenging at the endgame thanks to the hyper mechanic.

What is the hardest monster for you to fight? I'm talking the monster who actually gets in hits and you have a hard time countering in general.

For me it's any monster who is on two tiny legs and elevated like Glavenus and Jho. Especially Glavenus since he never stops hoppng away whenever I'm under him, I've started using quick sheath on my longsword just to try and keep up with him.
