So is there any depth to the battle system in WoFF? I played the demo and it seemed pretty bare bones.

1) Are there any special animations for mirage attacks or is it all "use ability"=>"particle appears on animation. I mean even Chrono Trigger had the characters run up and hit the enemy.

Did someone on the WoFF dev team have some kind of grudge against boss battles? It seems like every other boss in WoFF ends the same way:
>Boss gets back up and reveals the whole fight was meaningless because they can't be killed
>Two more copies of the boss show up and can't be fought no matter how easy the first one was
>A giant version of the boss shows up, same problem
Then some legacy character appears to "rescue" us from the thing we just finished beating.

And that's just the fights that can actually be won. For some reason the devs weren't satisfied with letting Len and Rin get their asses kicked in cutscenes, so the game is also full of instant-kill battles.

You quickly wind up involved in some plot affecting that city and in the process meet a member of a group of people unaffiliated with any city, but helps both out with the primal issues.
After finishing, you join said group and head off to the jew nation (or back, depending) to assist with their beast tribe problem. Shit goes down, you get kidnapped along with jew troops and brought before the primal, yet deus ex machina means you can't be brainwashed. Queue dumb fight theme and you fight and beat the primal.
Repeat for the next, add in some enemy empire stuff, then another primal, queue enemy empire doing their evil plan, you stop plan, then learn that potatoes are assholes and should be gassed.

Congratulations, you've just been given a bare bones plot summary of ARR.

Rydia can kill most trash mobs with meteor in just a couple turns, and most collosseum bossfights don't last more than that either. Colosseum fights are damage races.

When you upgrade the Lantern to 7* its type icon becomes Blitzball. It stays thrown, just the icon art changes.

XIV just has the advantage of combining the XIV banner rarity bonus with the Dissidia hard-on bonus for Y'shtola.

Still don't have native Shout. I drew Eiko's BSB but can hardly ever integrate her into the party because I need Y'shtola for wall and RW Shout.

I also have literally NOTHING for 5* Support characters other than a fucking Gun Arm and for the longest time I had fuck all for anyone with Dances, too. Now finally I got some small amount of multibreak and only recently got Agrias ATK/MAG debuff SB offthe dungeon lucky draw, which was something didn't have AT ALL beforehand, too.

There literally is stuff you cannot make up for without draws, and they're gradually adding more, like Stoneskin 30%/HP Stock soon.

If you watch videos of the "One Who Surpasses All" fight in Japan you've got shit like Blinks, Reraises, all variety of Stoneskins and heals and shit literally REQUIRED, and they really haven't been handing out Blink skills.

No you won't. A RW hastega, wall or BSB (depending on the fight) is enough to master anything and combined junk weapons are enough synergy for anything. Level 99 characters can pretty easily hit soft cap (or close to it) with just an augmented weapon or a combined synergy weapon and a Shout RW. I played a longass time without a native wall or hastega and no good damage SBs and still mastered everything even when people with far stronger teams were bitching. There's always damage variance with whatever weapon you have equipped. It's just usually a normal value that averages to 100%, so you don't notice it. This is a weapon with a very odd variance, one that averages to 385% instead of 100%.

And in practice sacrificing the ATK of two separate weapons AND the double damage of having dual wield usually makes up for it. Most doublehand units especially need the boost from a real weapon, but it can work out to be the strongest chain finisher in the game if you set it up right.

Plus yeah thrown weapons are super rare.

Me drawing VLC Fina today actually helps to plug in a hole I had a problem with and that was someone good with physical support since I have Toblerone/Garland/Firion for physical offense as well as back up P.Cecil who is my healer due to him having Curaja(though I can swap to Rosa, but Rosa is only strictly heals and nothing else). I can now also use a core of P.Cecil and VLC Fina for the healer I lack until I draw Refia.

My mage team is going to be Toblerone/Exdeath/Kefka/P.Cecil/VLC Fina and abuse the heck out of Thunder chains thanks to Crushing Blow with P.Cecil being both Focus support and the tank.

VLC Fina can definitely fit into a certain comp. Her Cura heals as much as Cecil's Curaja, and only a couple hundred less than Lenna. Slap 4 of the HP/MP materia on her and she'll be bulky as fuck, with decent heals/Cheer/Raise.

I think it's the lost potential that pisses people off. That AoE phys move would be amazing if the multiplier was higher for non undead enemies. Really the only thing she NEEDS is Esuna - paralyze is just too deadly not to have an answer for.

The additional job panels change is huge. Each job is going to have their individual strengths and relative weaknesses amplified. I'm looking forward to having 16 orbs at the start of every fight. It's going to make a lot more decks viable.

Are those Spooky Auras for Black Cat Lid essential? I've been playing FFBE for 19 days now, I've managed to save enough candy for the knife, the accessory, the hat, all the cactuars, and awakening materials for 6* Cecil.

Is it okay if I can't get the auras? I have five Black Cat Lids (and four fucking White Witch Finas), but I don't think I can make it in time, since I can only get about 500 corn per 13 NRG. Sometimes I can get Pumpking PRO when based Irkella's Cecil is up, but it's too risky for corn farming because I'll wipe if Full Break doesn't land. Everyone keeps going on and on about Black Cat Lid, though... am I fucked? I have no real good physical units either

Second, BC Lid is good mostly for future pvp petrification shenanigans, though her Ultimate Blow is quite something. But blowing 69.000 corn on oc donut materia is quite a waste, especially if you're this new in the game.
I'd reccommend getting all the time limited halloween things, they'll prove useful for a long while. Knife included, if you need your future tank to inflict some extra damage with Stab. Mages will definitely appreciate the mask and the basket.
I'd rather grab tickets, quartz, 6* mats and even the moogle before thhose halloween materiae, but that's just me.

Esuna should be easy as hell to get right now since Maria is part of Bedile's sekrit club. That will change once the gacha rarity drops are implemented though. I'll probably farm 3 of the HP/MP auras and get the 70000 trust jewgle since I have enough energy to run pro 3 times and have 5 or so whalefriends that can help me to clear it. I currently have over 60000 candy right now.

I have over 1 million gil right now and find it rather easy to farm gil thanks to selling when I am over my limit on materials.

And I still have to get the elixirs and the remaining 6* mats left before anything else. And there is 3 days still left in the event so that is 90300 candy max without factoring in the 30 extra energy I put in before the next day.
