AP Ekko is just outclassed as an assassin. He's melee and lacks the ability to consistently hit his full combo. Point-and-Click Moon Heretic and Soverign of Many Balls are both better options for different reasons.

Bruiser Ekko is popular because he can pressure carries out of fights and then escape with his life, possibly to rejoin the fight seconds later. Most bruisers don't have that staying power in teamfights, they either get the carries or get kited and die.

How the fuck do I play LB into Ryze? His point and click snare instant counters me if I try to go in, I can't keep up with his wave clear, his chaining spell means I eat auto targeted harass regardless of what I do and his shield denies me any burst. I feel totally powerless in the match up.

The crowd was actually not that bad, but fucking all the hype got sucked out of the stadium when SKT facerolled the first game and they clutched the second. IE before a crit item is decent on Jhin but the crit item first gives you much better of a spike, since it balances out your total dps rather than a few bursts of damage, not to mention Jhin gets damage anyway from the attack speed on shit like rapidfire.
