I finished the normal that launch weekend, the HM doesn't seem to add too many twists, Its not the difficulty, the issue for me is just the contrasting tedium when compared to the rest of the raid. Everything is extremely fun up to that point, and then it becomes tedious and too shouty, managing empowered juggling canons and charges, etc..
Its like, ever tried to go back to a game you finished years ago, to play it again, but then just as you were about to boot it up you remembered that one point in the game you dreaded drudging through and just put the game back and quit before even starting? That's essentially what I feel every time I do the raid. I've never felt such crippling disinterest in doing something as I do Aksis.
Honestly, Y3 might be the first time I don't finish moments of triumph, just on how cripplingly disinterested I am in playing through the Aksis encounter.

Oh yeah, lets see then, you're probably experiencing the heavy drop glitch and the special spawn glitch.
So, for the heavy, there's a glitch if you die after heavy ammo spawns, you cannot see heavy ammo dropped by other players, they're working on it now but they're not sure what's causing it so they said you should go to the official forums and post in the bugs/feedback forum if its happening to you along with the level and equipment of the character the glitch happened to.
The special ammo glitch is a bit more of a pain in the ass, the weapon will spawn with either no or very low special ammo when you start the match, if it happens, you need to wait for a special crate, open it, then swap weapons and it should fix your ammo issues for the duration of the match. If it doesn't work, again make a post in the official forums.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious (Not the guy you were replying to, btw) But I've actually discussed this with friends ever since, probably house of wolves.
We've often discussed paths, like for example nightfall and weekly crucible bounty, you would instead get a neutral bounty/quest every week , that would be like "Complete the Nightfall or X crucible thing" And then it would list two potential rewards, Both of which while equal would be more geared towards either PVE or PVP, depending on the look. Like a PVE weapon would have lower damage (ROF impact, etc..) stats on average, but would have a perk that would say "Deals bonus damage to minions of darkness" so it would perform poorly in the PVP, but in PVE would do well. While the PVP would have those stats for PVP, but wouldn't have the minions of darkness perk, and would have Perks more focused towards pvp.
Trials for example has done the perks part well to a degree, the armors and weapons obtained there clearly lend themselves better to the PVP aspect, just like Raid armors KF and later lend themselves well to the PVE aspect of the game, but if it was some mechanical system in place to make a player actually make a meaningfull choice towards what they want, rather than giving them everything, it might promote more diversity.
And I understand that's too naive of a way to look at it, in reality it would cause community segregation and elitism, but can we honestly say we don't have that garbage already?

Events are divided into tiers. (under this premise we assume Iron banner is always accessible, but shop/rank reset on a weekly basis)

Bronze tier would sell your standard gear, nothing unique about it, just regular purple shit, one piece for each slot (Same as vanguard leads) with a random, weekly changed roll.
Silver tier would sell Iron banner gear that is in rotation, as well as strike specific loot for the Nightfall that is in rotation that week, as well as ornaments four IB gear (Assuming everything silver tier and up has ornaments) with each piece costing one token, each ornament two tokens.
Gold tier would have two choices of gold tier armor and one gold tier weapon every week, rotating slots on a weekly basis (For example: Raid Helmet, Chest, Auto rifle, Trials Helmet, Chest, Auto rifle, Raid Ornament, Trials Ornament one week, than change to gauntlets, boots, and sniper the next week, etc...) Each piece, again, would cost one token, each ornament would cost two tokens.

Each Silver and Gold tier weapon and armor piece has 3 ornament slots.
First is the Pve slot, second is the PVP slot, third is the Faction slot.
As the name implies you can put Raid ornaments into trials gear, or trials ornaments into raid gear to get different looks. And these can be swapped just like exotic weapon ornaments now.
Third ornament is special.
When you Join a faction, you have an option to "lock in" that faction, if you lock in, you can gain that faction's ornaments from reputation packages, but switching from a locked in faction bears the penalty of losing all your faction progression.
Placing a Faction ornament in a piece of gear is permanent, the ornament cannot be removed or replaced with another faction's (Though you can still switch to PVE and PVP ornaments for aesthetics)
You can only place a faction ornament into a piece of gear if you are locked in with the faction, and are rank 10. which adds the following to the piece of gear:

(Faction particle effect per piece of gear on spawn, as well as the faction's skin applied to the weapon/armor)

(Just like exotic faction class item, it ads bonus faction rep for donations, bounties, and event completions, the effect stacks, 5% per piece of gear for a total of 50% (Assuming Artifacts can be ornamented too, and are visible on a player's belt.)

Player must be at least rank 10 with that faction to wear this armor/weapon
>Faction representative
Deal bonus damage to players of opposing faction (Not severe enough to break crucible any more than it is, but enough to feel like a bonus)

What do you mean substitute? I specifically stated current loot tables wouldn't go anywhere, You'd still get your post game trials rewards, you'd still get your trials chests and raid chests, you'd still have to go 9-0 to scarab hunt, etc... This simply rewards you a token for completing one or the other, which can then be used at the gold trader for one guaranteed piece of gear a week, see what I mean? It doesn't replace the system, gets added on top of it.

Its there to specifically reward people who stick with one faction, the exotic class item would still be there to grant a bonus to people that don't want to lock in, and its not mandated to lock in. The quests and bounties are similar to shiro's cleansing the plaguelands and regular vanguard quests, they're there as a means of getting more faction-specific stuff, again, as a reward for people who have 250+ ranks in the same faction.
None of this is meant to replace anything, its just placed on top of the existing structure as a means of rewarding players who focus on a specific path while offering meaningful progression to people that diversify.

That just causes the same problem that stemmed the need for tokens. There's a division in difficulties, but not in content, I'm fully aware this means a pure PVP person could get full raid gear or pure PVE person could get all trials gear, but this doesn't bother me, shouldn't bother any reasonable adult. obtaining a full trials set for example, by doing only the raiding would take an exorbitant amount of time, you could essentially get 1 piece of trials gear per week. Same for a person doing the trials for the raid, etc... The tokens are here to alleviate a somewhat broken matching and reward systems currently in place, both for people with bad rng, as well as people who simply cannot partake in a particular content.
I mean think about it, how does it affect you if a person gets their flawless win and buys themselves a raid helmet? I mean honestly, what difference would it make in a person cleared a raid and used their one weekly token to get the trials gauntlets? This system still rewards heavily people that can perform well in the content, a person doing the raid would get all the raid chests, plus a token for an additional piece of gear, a person doing well in trials would still get all the post-game rewards, all the shaders and emblems they can get only by playing, and still get a token for that last item the RNG might still be fucking them out of. But a person who for whatever reason couldn't do one or the other would still be able to set a goal in mind and meaningfully work towards it over weeks or months. And that's what this is an issue of, not of segregation but of meaningful progression sometimes just playing to RNG gods isn't enough to have fun. If you knew clearing a raid could guarantee one of the item that are on rotation in the shop that week, whether its a trials helmet or raid boots, all of a sudden struggling with shit RNG on either side doesn't seem so tedious or disheartening.

The reason weapon rolling was removed was because it made too many people act elitist, it essentially turned every weapon into a "Do you have a gally" Y1 seekryt klub discussion.
Removing it was the wrong decision, but as it existed, allowing you to reroll the entire weapon for a set cost of consistently gained materials was wrong.
If it was more akin to a standard RPG mechanics it would be more acceptable where, you would pick one node, and that would lock out all the other nodes on the weapon, making it you can only re-roll that node, and the cost would increase with each re-roll, with more potent perks being harder to roll.

This is complete bullshit. Let's take Bones of Eao for example. To put this in perspective, I have thousands of hours in this game.
According to 3rd party item managers, I have never received a Bones of Eao above a 90% roll. So, I rerolled a pair this weekend. Took me about 40 glass needles to get a 96%+ roll with INT/DIS (which is what I needed for T12) and rocket ammo. This is just a single exotic on a single subclass.
Let's take this a step further and address the majority of legendary armor: It can't be rerolled.
Sidestep here and address raid armor: The rerolling doesn't change the stat roll. In other words, if you have an 85% chest piece, you can't change the stats attributed to the piece of armor. It only changes the perks. In other words, you need to get the specific stats you need, whether it be INT/DIS, INT/STR, DIS/STR, and you need to get them to be within a certain range, before you can even think about rerolling the armor. The system doesn't work, and the odds of you getting what you desire is slim to none.
Kind of bullshit, if you ask me. I went from maining a Titan when I was a nub, then switched to a Hunter when I started to git gud. Although, now, I feel forced to main a Warlock because that is the only class that I have a T12 load out for. And, of course, with the way RNG works, I happen to have a T12 for all 3 Warlock subclasses with the right perks. Go figure. Ideally, armor and weapon rerolling should be more user friendly. And, even more ideally, I'd like to see a system where, weapon parts specifically, are expanded. Instead of just generic parts, I'd like to see weapon perks. In other words, dismantle a gun and get the perks of the gun. Then take a gun frame to Banshee and distribute the perks as I see fit.

I'd like to see Banshee play a larger role in the game and I think genuine weapon reforging would be a way to do it. Add an armor vendor with a similar function and the ability to reroll the stats and I think the loot system would be perfect.
Probably doesn't help that I've, admittedly, drank about half a fifth of whiskey in the past 10 minutes, but whatever. I just don't think getting the specific gear is the problem. It's getting the specific gear with the right rolls.
