Haberdasher refers to the speedrun community as "we" here. That means he considers himself part of it. Previously I thought he was just a random SVG stream monster, but this made me think what if he's more than that? After all what would compel the average viewer to speak about another guy's marriage for 2 years? My first theory is that he is a Mormon and thought the adultery at SGDQ14 brought shame upon his community, but this can be almost surely dismissed, because the Mormon's approach to controversy is to sweep it under rug, not highlight it. I also can't think of any male married Mormon speedrunner. Maybe he himself was at SGDQ14. I always found it curious how easily he can tell which eyewitness accounts are credible and which are made up. He obviously wasn't involved in the gangbang himself, but he might have noticed enough while there to spot obvious fabrications in fake accounts. I've written a bot to go through all the followers of SVG and Stiv pre-SGDQ14 and return the speedrunners among them to see if there may be a connection there, but none fit his profile. Finally it may be possible that he is just a passive viewer who does not do any speedrunning himself but sees himself as part of the community anyway, in which case this information is almost useless.

pre AGDQ2014 people were asking why the attendance fee was $75 when it was leaked that PCF was helping fund the event. Mike posted this on the forum basically saying it is priced that high to cover "conference room costs and surplus fund (for equipment". He goes on to explain the math and how he came up with the amount.

Later on PCF releases how much they ended up giving Mike Uyama and the GDQ LLC. It totaled $96,613. They received MORE than enough to cover their costs. Mike and staff were making a lot of money from the start, and the worst part is they LIED to the community about it.

Before AGDQ2016 started, Cool Matty posted this budget for the event. Things to note:

Before AGDQ2015 and before GDQ LLC staff decided to HIRE professionals to help with the massive stream problems, they were approached by flicky and Edenal, two people who are very qualified to assist the GDQ staff. They offered to help for free and were TURNED AWAY.

After the event had overwhelmingly negative feedback from poor technical issues, the GDQ staff used the excuse they were short handed and didn't have enough help.

They clearly have some feud with ESA or some other reason not to accept help from some of the most talented European marathon organizers. When brought up why this happened, the GDQ staff pretends it doesn't exist.

During SGDQ2014 there were incredible technical problems. This chat log was dumped after there was a dispute about how GDQ staff should hire some professionals to help run the tech. Here are some excerpts:

Before AGDQ2015, Klaige (a GDQ staff member and representative of the company) had this conversation with Edenal. Edenal was inquiring about the budget for AGDQ2015 because there were a lot of questions regarding the expenses and revenue of AGDQ2015 due to the leaks of PCF paying for most of the expenses.

These comments were from a thread before AGDQ2015 about how runners should get free attendance and even paid for the work they do in the marathons.

Cool Matty first tries to scare off people by saying that if they gave runners free attendance it would "raise the cost of the rest of the attendees (by 15% or more)". As proven before, this is not the case as the charity already pays more than enough for the event to run.

Cool Matty then replies with the phrase "event was created by speedrunners for speedrunners to help the charity" as an excuse to not pay the runners. They are more than willing to accept over 6 figures from the charity to pay their salaries, but when runners want compensation it becomes a moral issue. This double standard is common with GDQ LLC.

Kind of funny how the quote from graviton is becoming reality: "The level of skill and mastery of these games is the entire premise behind Games Done Quick, and without that these marathons would literally be a lets play event."

Here was another fun time. GDQs are ran so poorly that they forgot to register their LLC name and let it lapse. This isn't surprising based on how they run their business, but it was hilarious nonetheless.

Comma and other punctuation doesn't matter when you file your business name. As long as it's not in the same business and easily enough distinguishable as the original you can have it. A name like Games Going Fast would be ok but a name like Games Done Quik would not.

So since that guy got the name, GDQ staff couldn't file for another name with or without the comma since it would conflict with Mab's business. Which is why GDQ staff made such a big deal about it and perma banned him. They were that close to losing their brand because Mike Uyama doesn't know how to run a business.

This post was done after AGDQ2016. There were huge communication issues in the organization of AGDQ2016. So Cool Matty posts this in response to the announcement that they hired more people. Zewing originally gave the GDQ staff the idea to get a public committee member on the game selection committee to relay information to the public. He felt that he could do the job, however Cool Matty had other ideas.

This post reveals that GDQ LLC will mainly hire people if they volunteer first. Work for free for a few events and then if they need you they will pay you.

Also this is another post by GDQ staff about delaying the feedback thread. They use the excuse that they can't respond for 2 weeks or longer because they are tired or sick after the event. People have said that they don't need to respond to the thread but just open the thread so people don't forget feedback. They ignore the suggestion because they know how bad of a job they run events and don't want to deal with the community complaining about how poorly they run things.

The games I'd want to play have such shit speedrunning communities or the routes are so fucking stupid that it's barely worth trying.
