People were doing that. Even after at least two and a half years, nobody but the PT found out how to reform people, and they only knew thanks to Morgana. This really isn't as easy as you're making it out to be.

Futaba's life didn't get that bad until Wakaba's death. Different people also deal with shitty circumstances differently, and Futaba had a precedent for social anxiety while Goro takes after his father in terms of his temper and how he deals with others (by putting on a mask).

Have you actually looked into how Japan deals with adoptive- and bastard children? Because if you haven't, you really should, since it sounds like you're missing cultural context for Goro's situation. The article >>158759203 linked is a good start.

I think the whole "He could've done good instead" was one of the point of Goro's character? I mean, yes he could, but he turned out that way because he lacks the guidance, not just from morgana, mind you, but also from society as a whole.

In my opinion, the whole reason why he thought "I want revenge" instead of "I want to do good" with his powers isn't much affected by whether he had a morgana to guide him to use his power or not as much as how he had absolutely no one who could guide him the whole 14-15 years old before, and how he was treated before he got his powers might also factor in.

tl;dr, doesn't matter whether the kid gets a morgana or not, he was already fucked up before that and probably thought of revenge first instead of doing good because of that

I think he probably would've too. Even in-game, it sounds like he didn't really consider his future past his revenge on Shidou, and didn't really know what to do until he got his powers.

On top of that, Japan has really high suicide rates, and the two lead causes among children are bullying and stress from school, both of which definitely apply to him (bullying can be safely assumed from his status as an unwanted bastard child and some of his comments, and he's stressed about school in a few scenes in-game as is).

Good question. The lyrics really don't fit Shidou's boss fight, and they fit even the grail fight even less.

Will Power/Friend Awakening Battle is an interesting choice for his second boss fight, though, even if I would've preferred Rivers In The Desert.

That's Goro's situation by the end of the game to a T. Stuck followed Shidou's orders unless he wants to be killed, but also literally weeks (or even days, if you finish the duneon late) away from reaching the goal he'd been aiming for the past two and a half years.

The disobeying line makes no sense for Shidou and the grail, too.

The thing about characters like Adachi and (presumably) Goro from what I know of him without being majorly spoiled, is when their true colors are seen, they're pretty colorful as personality goes even if it's completely wrong/evil and psychopathic.

I personally have nothing to my real persona. I find it hard to feel any real emotion after where my life has led up to, and have a really weak will/initiative, submitting completely to the authority of the few adult relatives that have a leash on my life even as a 21-year-old.

Alright, looks like the Shidou Palace deadline game over really does stay the same regardless of whether you're past Goro's boss fight or not, hazy filter and all. The only difference is that if you haven't gotten past it, it kicks off on the night of 12/16 instead, since that's when you pass the last chance to finish the dungeon in time to be able to send the notice.

If anyone was wondering, denying that Joker's the ringleader of the PT results in Goro chiming in to affirm it IS Joker, and that he has definitive proof of that. That's the only difference that choice makes.

Shidou's a genuinely abusive person who's involved in a LOT of shady things to become prime minister (and extremely nationalistic, his main intent is to make Japan a strong enough country to go against the rest of the world, IIRC). We're talking about someone who's willing to work with the yakuza, support a mafia leader and a counterfeiter, takes requests for shellification in exchange for things like funding or helping him get beneficial connections, and who's repeatedly established as someone who can and will eliminate (usually fatally) anyone who goes against him.

I always got the impression that anyone who made a plot-relevant agreement was let into the VR if it was relevant. Igor says it's a place for those who have signed a contract but I don't know why that's important at all. But besides that it looked like Yu agreeing with Izanami to think about the gas station, and Teddie agreeing to visit Nanako, were enough to let them into the VR, as well as MC signing Pharos's paper. Potter's case is probably the agreement at the beginning of the game or something related to him getting put on probation and deported to Tokyo. So you can just say Goro's agreement to work for Shidou and kill innocent people for him was also a contract.

But the duality caused him to develop two Persona's of his own based on his inner hatred (Loki) and false detective Persona (Robin Hood) which is why he has two masks and thief outfits.
