There was nothing wrong with the animu scene. Nasu was trying to convey that he always did the same: as counter guardian and when he lived. He was trapped in a vicious cycle. That was hard to put on screen without a heavy narrative, so they opted to show the counter guardian stuff, but the notes even clarify that he does similar shit. And he complains about this in the VN as well.

Also note that Herakles fought Saber when she was gimped as fuck, not just because of Shirou's prana levels and stats, but she was heavily injured by Gae Bolg (all her internal organs were ruptured and she was in pain, which she tanked like a champ). Saber stays a cripple in all routes until Cu dies (the curse cannot be fully healed until then). It just puts in perspective the lengths Nasu went to nerf her to make the battles more equal.

Because what he did as a Guardian and what he did in life is no different at all. That was the fucking point. You, as a VN reader, should know this. Even an anime only secondary should know this because he took Kiritsugu's path and they spent all FZ to establish how much that sucked.

Frankly speaking, I think the fandom has a misconception about what Counter Guardians are. Nasu rectified they are just shit tier janitors in FGO and not even worth calling Heroic Spirits (referring them as 'fake' heroic spirits). They don't handle any big crisis or any super powered enemies. Their enemies are humans, they put an end to human disasters.

That's why Grand Servants now are introduced to get them as the real big guns. Nasu has incorporated his original idea about Heroic Spirits guarding humanity (which was a concept he had in Prototype).

God, the point is that he did shit he didn't like. As human as CG, the show didn't have 1000 episodes to cover all EMIYA's Sad Life complains. They just cut it to show a bit of it as a Guardian and chose to infodump the rest by the speech. It changed absolutely nothing.

It was obvious from the get go he was going to follow Kiritsugu's path. And the audience already knew what entailed. So they showed he didn't even get 'peace' after he died, he was always doing that over and over again.

I read a few opinins that for maximum efficiency as a non whale you should level and set up parties of 5* NP1 and 3* NP5 servants. The idea is to disregard 4* NP1 as they're not worth their cost in the party line up and when you use 3* you have more freedom in CE choices.
