Outside of a select few (ex. fakebringer imago), not really. Scouts > pulses > autos imo but anything will get the job done and the only time you'd need much range is zamboni maybe. In terms of the scope of what Atheon was and what the Vex were trying to do in the Vault of Glass, I don't think any of the other raids have come close. Oryx and Crota are just us going into a throne realm to kill them, and Aksis is some poor Fallen that's angry we turned on the lights.

The idea of ontological weapons, and the Vex developing them in the Vault, or trying to hack the universe to become a law of reality was just so neat.
