Cover abilities work with any action that you perform, it just happens that the visual cue (the unit moving) is glitched and won't happen if the unit moves during your turn. But you can easily see that Cecil is by far targeted more than other units and receive halved damage most times, the easiest way to see this is fighting against cactuars and you will notice that he will receive 500 dmg instead of 1000. This is a known bug, nothing prevents saintly wall from happening.

AND two lightnings can only ever chain one hit of crushing blow together before it breaks, you need at least 3 to chain it all at once. The first two hits are more than 20 frames apart from the last two, so a single attack cannot chain them together.

Also strange is that each hit of Crushing Blow has either a 0.54x multiplier (first two hits) or a 0.81x multiplier (the last two hits).

So at best you're getting a 2.781x multiplier, and at worst you're getting a 2.754x one with chaining. Neither of those are better than barrage, which you can chain to 3.28x.

Try to build more than a 1chain with just two lightnings and crushing blow. It's not physically possible, no matter how you time it. The first hit lands 20 frames before the second, the third hit lands 30 frames after the second, and the final hit lands 2 frames after the third.

There is no way to place a hit such that 10 frames rest on either side for all these frames, so it's not possible. And practice will confirm this for you.

You need 3 lightnings to carry out the chain for more than one hit at a time.

If you're doing chainsaw just to make the first hit of crushing blow do slightly more damage, you're doing it wrong.

A fully chainsawed crushing blow would be a 5.94x multiplier, while a fully chainsawed barrage would be 5.6.
But both of those suck, because a fully chainsawed Raging Fist would be 6.0x. Chainsaw is not for multihit attacks with low individual hit multipliers.

Here is a direct comparison of the two. The general rule is that if you haven't augmented the ability shop card to 4*, then the multiplayer card is better. The best thing the multiplayer cards have going for them is that they can unlock the "damage limit break" extra skill without being augmented to 4*.

More damage focused cards including things that are on par with l'Cie Brand will be released to the shop in the future.

As for your summon tickets, you will want to save them for a job pull, but there is no right answer regarding when you should actually do it. If there is a job from the current lineup that you really want, then you should summon as soon as you can since you'll be less likely to get it once more jobs are added to the pool. If there's an unreleased job that you really want, then save your tickets.

The Scythe is breddy good on Cecil if you're facing a multitarget foe.
It's an AoE 30% drain, so against 6 enemies you're returning almost twice what you dish out.

This is worth keeping in mind desu. He's more or less even with Lightning before ability enhancements (I'd put him a bit higher because of his huge single-target damage), and Lightning's ability enhancements were honestly pretty underwhelming since she got them so early.
The III banner is still really good, even if Luneth and Refia aren't outright considered the best characters of their type in the game anymore.

SPR is linear for both heals and for tanking. It means effectively nothing in the long run. Even with Lenna's TMR, this could only increase his effective tankiness by a maximum of like, 25% against magical attacks (depending on what else you have equipped).

Actually, anyone can Edgarchain now. Literally anyone, even people who never summoned a single unit.

There's a FP summon that learns autocrossbow and can equip swords. Slap 3 of them on a team and find a high MAG friend (even a nonwhale kefka with good gear would do), and you too can cheese most bosses in a single turn.

That is because Tactics has CHARACTERS. Also all of V's major characters are in the game already and Bartz and Exdeath both have 6*. IX needs half of its main party in the game and Zidane and Kuja need 6*. Heck even Rosa has a better chance for a 6* due to the lack of some IV characters. Lenna might get enhancements at best, Lennafag.

She's the best Edgar chaining physical unit in the game right now (unless you have multiple dupes of other strong units, at which point you don't need edgar you whale), so you're not fucked at all.

She has the highest single hit multiplier in the game right now on a unit who isn't Penelo. A full chain takes her up to 1540% damage, which is way more than kefka's (1226.66%) or even Rydia's (1333.33%), or even Ramza's (1493.33%).

The only issue is stacking her ATK high, but that's what the corn is for.
