Shadowverse is a class-based collectible card game akin to Hearthstone. The first expansion pack, Darkness Evolved, launched on September 30th.

I began 4 days ago and I just completed mine. I started out with no Cerberus and none of the relevant golds, but I did begin with 4 assorted legends because I had no idea what to go when I started.
In a few days I just dusted enough to buy out 3 Cerberus and 3 Phantom Howl. I had most of the deck by then off of packs. If you open with a Cerberus and some rarity trash, you'll get it done faster than I did.

Yeah, the haven decks are pretty cheap and the leggos are "optional". You need Moon Al-Miraj and golds like Garuda, Elana and Themis.
Sword is cheap if you make a banner deck, medium if you make midrange and ridiculously expensive if you want control.

Of course, Pluto is so conditional that she doesn't have a place in the current meta and probably never will, while Odin will always be relevant as long as dickhead last words are relevant and unconditional banishment is hard to come by (i.e. probably until the end of time).

Yeah, as I said I'm biased for 3 Frontguards myself, since I opened all 3 of them and it feels like a waste not to use them.
My reasoning is that the 3-drop slot for Control Sword is kind of weak (White Paladin and Ruthless Assassin can both be a little conditional in that you sometimes don't want drop them on curve). On the other hand, Healing Angel is a nice vanilla 2/3 with no hesitation dropping on curve.

Control Sword definitely has an issue with 3 drops where you often just end up playing another one of your 12 2 drops, and healing since you only have the angels and unica, so it's probably the right sub-in. It'd improve the aggrobat matchup too since they can ignore your wards half the time.

I'm currently strolling through C ranks (10000 so far) with my subpar decks and I usually fight against others with ok decks but far from the tier ones. People who say that everyone uses top tier decks in D/C ranks are retards. They probably see a banner or elana thrown in the duel and immidietly assume it's a perfect meme deck.

Because Vengeance isn't there to justify taking damage. His best cards deal damage because they are stronger than other cards of their type.

>2 mana 2/1 with storm
>2 mana deal 3 damage to whatever you want
>2 mana draw two cards
>1 mana 1/2 with 1 damage to opponent face
>1 mana unleash the bats
And so on and so forth. That is the primary gimmick to the class. Having strong cards that deal self damage to compensate. The game advertises it as being about controlling your Vengeance, but that isn't really how it turns out.
Also it does have good Vengeance cards. The 9 mana vampire that does 5 damage to ANYTHING plus heals you for five is really good. This isn't HS. In SV that is 1/4 the total health you can have. Alucard is a 4/4 storm that heals you for 4 with Vengeance. Dark General is a 4/3 storm with Vengeance, which is insane value.
Righteous Devil gets bane and drain off of vengeance making it really buff when you evolve it. He also gets a 8 damage to all followers board clear for 4 mana when under vengeance.
He has plenty of excellent vengeance cards it's just the concept of going in and out of vengeance that is gimmicky. In this meta it's pretty easy to stall and then go for a one turn finish on control blood.
But control isn't what the class is meant to do so whatever. It has a lot of awesome cards and I would love for control to work, but the self damage thing will always be best suited to aggro unless they pull a Haven and give him massive powercreep on his cards next expansion.

I feel a bit bad. I didn't even bother starting ranked until I had a complete meta net-deck because I was afraid of getting destroyed every match.
But I'm approaching C rank now and virtually every deck I've run into has been awkwardly thrown together. I've won the vast majority of my matches and even when I misplay, they just don't enough value to take advantage of it. I'm seeing Haven and Dragon decks that're dead before they turn on, I can only assume the players filled it up with their strongest cards and ignored curve.
