Is Melee chat welcome here? i'm picking up the game because I found out there's a large local scene.

I'm debating my main. I like the way Fox wave dashes, but is Fox too hard for a beginner? How many fucking advanced 300 APM techniques will I need to learn to become effective?

I heard Sheik is way easier and wondering if I should just main her in the beginning to feel out the game and learn the basics

Sheik is great for beginners. Arguably the easiest character to play in the game.
