It has a fucktonne of poise because it's a WA. IIRC, I think it has base 30.
Which means that you only need about 20 poise to tank a 2HR1 from a greatsword with it. If you do trade, just keep mashing because the followup comes out so fast it'll interrupt them if they try to swing again, and rollcatch them if they try to get away. 2ndL2R1 and 3rdL2R1 true combo, as does 3rdL2R1 back to 2ndL2R1, unlike most other paired movesets. You can only stunlock for 2 L2R1s, but it doesn't matter which one is the first to stagger, it'll always give you at least 1 followup.

It's super abusable. You can beat out any poise weapon that isn't a greathammer/perseverance weapon.

Spellbuff is all that matters.
Spells take a % of your spellbuff and turn it into damage, though most have a positive modifier (eg. 200 spellbuff turns into like 500 damage). Spell buff goes up with the relevant scaling stats but each casting tool scales differently. Some gain more between 20-30, some don't gain much until you go above 40.

Blackflame Friede is bullshit: there are maybe three opportunities to get a hit in and you can never manage more than two hits at a time. Add to that the insane Bloodborne combos and full-screen tracking AOE into power geyser and fuck. This is just Bloodborne 1.5.

"dark" catalysts like caitha's chime only give their dual scaling to "dark" spells like gnaw. if you cast a regularly miracle with caitha's chime, you only get the portion of your spellbuff that corresponds to the faith scaling. your int is effectively ignored

The irony of Friede is that protecting things give her life meaning. When the hollows of Londor no longer needed protection, she abandoned them and wandered into the painted world, seeking purpose. She found purpose protecting the painting's inhabitants but eventually, as the world rotted, protecting them meant protecting them from themselves as they sought to follow the course of nature and cast their world into the fire for the sake of the next one.

She's trying to protect them from that sacrifice, against their own wishes, because without something to protect, she has no purpose.

I didn't receive a medal until 14 matches in, at which point I had yet to lose, and it gave me black. Three fights later I went up to bronze. Another 5 later I was white, and then only 2 fights after white I went gold. Never even saw red.

I hate to say it but this is my problem with DS3. It's just bloodbourne with non transforming weapons. No poise. Everything staggers everyone. Many, many enemies have huge combos where they just swing for a solid 5 seconds straight. I liked DS1 and DS2 because it felt like a fantasy game where I could be any kind of classic fantasy class, but DS3 is practically made just for dex characters. This game is no longer for people who want to use big armour and big shields. They should just rename it leather armour and light weapons souls. This dlc really broke my heart, just a huge reminder that from has decided what kind of fun I can have, and the answer is I cant
