You guys have any particular favorites when it comes to pilot or AC art? I'm making an AC CYOA-thing and the images could star in it. It's not really a lack of material issue as much as much it is an issue where I can't really decide on choosing ones from my own images.

You're an MT pilot on a mining colony on mars, and on a routine transportation mission, your convoy is attacked by an AC. Following the prompts for basic movement, you run and hide to avoid being destroyed while the AC takes out your teammates.

As soon as the other MTs are destroyed, a second AC, contracted by a corporation intent on destroying the cargo enters the picture, and the two fight in front of you.

The corporation AC heavily damages the other AC, but it launches a suicide attack. After the attack, your MT approaches the wreckage to find both pilots dead.

Upon discovering this, you receive a transmission from the operator of the second AC, checking to see if anyone survived. You respond in a codec-like operator cutscene, and the operator asks you to pilot the wreckage back to a support helicopter, to recover the AC and the cargo.

As you are guided by the operator through basic AC piloting (they acknowledge the similarities between MTs and ACs) they have you use your weapons to take down some helicopters that are coming to check on the wreckage, and then you reach the transport truck that the AC came on.

After that you have a conversation that reveals the AC you recovered was a mercenary's AC, who is acting underground to sabotage the corporations. The operator mentions that now that the original pilot is dead, they'll track them down and kill both of them, so offers to teach the player to use the AC to keep up the facade of the mercenary.

So now you get to go through the game, piloting this broken AC and acquiring new parts. Along the way you have a "hitlist" of corporation ACs, some of which are out to kill you on contract to eliminate factionless ACs.
>>
>>158507179
As you go along and get more confident, you can start attacking corporation ACs by hunting them down (at different times they will be in different locations). As you gain more money, instead of spending them on your own parts, you can 'spare' the ACs and hire them to be a mercenary, forming your own Raven's nest out of the corporation ACs you want. This is both your Arena (like the last raven's hitlist, maybe with a VR arena so you can practice against enemies you've fought before) AND your team building option.

If you don't attack these ACs however, they will start showing up in your normal mercenary missions. ACs that are on your team can accompany you on missions, or be sent off on their own (Metal gear peace walker style) to collect cash for your Raven's Nest.

As the plot progresses some corporations will try to align with you and the other corporations will try to shut you down, even with a middle point where you have to fight enemies in your own garage, line-ark style.

The missions you have available are not always DOE, but is set in a mars exploration setup, after half of the planet has been terraformed. So part of increasing your Raven's Nest's influence is expanding into unknown territory, where you will stumble across corporation facilities, etc.

You should be able to see how this influences the mutliplayer, turning into a very "team-based dungeon crawler" aspect of pvp, going after territory. Most missions are randomly generated based on a bunch of maps and concepts ("recover the AC part", "Defeat the corporation weapon",) except for the story missions, which influence also what enemies will show up.
>>
For example, if you go on a "defeat the enemy AC" mission, you'll either go up against another AC in the game, a randomly-generated AI AC, or another player if that player is entering an exploration mission for that same map. The same can happen for missions where you recover a part, where you have to either recover the part and escape, or defeat the other AC if they recover it and use the bounty to pay for it .

The story missions involve some exploration and some corporation attacks. These missions involve mostly building your Raven's Nest into a powerful Orca-like resistance force in hopes of actually conquering mars and freeing it from the Earth Government. It's a game where YOU play Leos Klein / Thermidor / Nine Ball.

The corporations have different philosophy for control, such as one (mirage-like) that uses lots of AI ACs and will mob you with them, and is ran by a controller-like AI you have to destroy. They specialize in faster, min-max parts and more extreme weapons that are harder to use.

However, the more corporations you destroy or fight, while the rewards are higher, the fewer parts in the shop from that corporation are available. So for those parts, you have to rely on acquiring them by stealing them. Once stolen, you can pay a lot of money to recreate the part and from then on its available in the shop. You expand your shop by having more credits in the bank, so buying lots of parts (and having fewer credits) limits the number of Ravens you can support on your team as well as how fast you can expand your territory as a result, so there's a consequence to spending too much money in the PvP.

Another corporation (crest-like) utilizes fewer, higher quality ACs with stronger, old-school pilots that act more like Knights than mercenaries. They specialize in manual, melee and physical weapons with well-rounded stats.
>>
The story ends with a split 4 endings (the other story missions become replayable in a VR simulator) based on your corporate loyalty, similar to how last raven will have 2 final missions per ending.

Three of the endings involve different destructions of the 'remaining' corporation. One corporation might have a 2v1 AC fight against you, the other might have a timed mission where you have to go deep into a facility and destroy it, etc. The methods of sabotage depends on which corporation is left for you to destroy.

Then there is also a factionless ending, which is obtained by only acquiring Ravens and exploring, not taking corporation missions, to build your Nest. This story ending involves you fighting off all of the strongest assets of the 2 remaining corporations on your home base, with team members in a Marche Au Supplice-like large scale battle.

After all endings, the earth government acknowledges your mercenary groups control and allows you to be legitimized as the ruler of your part of mars, changing to a post-story mode where you can continue to explore and support. However, there is a hard mode that lets you replay the story with more difficulty, like hardcore mode, as well as a VR mode that lets you go back and play prior story missions you have unlocked through the hard mode.
>>
Also, in case it wasn't clear, the factionless path would involve having no parts available in the shop except for the parts you acquire through randomly generated part-seeking missions or from the ACs you acquire on your team.
>>
The whole idea is to combine a real territory-exploration overworld with the corporation factionism of LR or AC3, with your player character situated as the Leos Klein / thermidor type building your own base, a la Metal Gear Peace Walker.

Alright, a topic of discussion for you all:

Describe the politics of the League in FA. How did the 3 big factions interact and compete with each other? What made GA start going rogue? How ashamed were the Rosenthal people when they had to go hat in hand to Omer?

Rosenthal didn't go hat-in-hand to anybody. They could see that they were losing profit, and they could see that alliances were beginning to form. So they picked the strongest race horse and ran with it rather than trying to become a leader themselves. Besides, even under Omer they are still an independent company (rather than a subsidiary). Rosenthal still gets to churn out Hogires and Lancels to its heart's content.
