Why am I ALWAYS put on the team that's supposed to win?
Hardly get any fucking points and lose a ton because enemies are always a rank or two lower than I am.

Previous thread died for a reason. The most recent balance patch killed the game as well as the fact that its still 2v2 centered it appears.

Why is this guy so easy? My WR would be higher if standard/ranked were split, I'm probably at least 80% wins with him in ranked.

Its also because DI is spammable and toxic bolt deals outrageous amounts of damage. In fact, if Lucie players properly its next to impossible to win a 1v1 if both players are equally skilled. On top of that comes her broken orb control because she can just knock the rune away with Clarity to push if out of reach of the opposition. Her ability to use Barrier even her team mates not even being LoS is just the cherry on top.

Jumong is broken as fucking hell because his damage is completely retarded considering the amount of utility and iframes the char has. 16dmg m1s are only justified on Iva because she is mid range and even then she wont hit all the bullets. So most of the time you will only deal 8-12, on small targets like Lucie rather 8. You need to be in melee range to deal 16 and even then the bullets miss because aiming the shotty isnt actually that easy against competent opponents you actually move around. Jumong is also retarded because of his R and, most of all, his burst potential from just m1 into space. Its a UTILITY ABILITY that deals 18 fucking damage. Like, what the bloody hell is that? Its basically 34 instant damage that lets you dodge something at the same time, completely retarded.

Freya is broken because her i-frames and overall setup abilities have way shorter cooldowns than any other characters abilities. Her tier1 Battelrite for example is retarded. If shes mid range its borderline impossible to react to Spring. She hammers, jumps on you, stuns you from the BRITE, m1s then youre forced to jump. If you fight she will just use E or Trance to dodge/avoid and hammer away. If you jump she will have her shit faster than you do and automatically force a more passive playstyle or can punish you easily.

Rook got buffed for no reasons whatsoever. The biggest problem is his m2: shit tons of damage, applies armor break, is an iframe, is a gigantic aoe that doesnt procc trances and STUNS if you take the BRITE, which STOPS trances.

I can't really think of any of jumong's abilities really being utility without rites for them, even his "escapes" are basically meant solely for offensive use otherwise you have to blow both his immaterial AND black arrow+recast to get away from anything reasonably. Meanwhile any other ranged hero gets away in twice the range with a single ability even if they have less damage output.
It kinda makes sense how he's just there to shit out damage without much else other than his E and R, if you get him to blow even one other move his damage drops immediately AND he has to either take as much damage as you can shit on him before he has a new escape available or he tries to trade with his slow-ass cast times.

Jumongs m1 range is retarded considering the damage it deals. HE doesn't even need to use his utility skills to just shit out DPS. Use all of them defensively and you'll still out-trade any other character in the game. The Bear Trap into R shit is just the cherry on top. Why the fuck they thought that it was a smart idea to give that skill a slow is beyond me.

As a new player, I'd thought I'd give some initial thoughts.

I could pick the Rook guy and just rape match after match, or I could play the time goat called Oldur and lose. I also see the bow and arrow faggot in literally everymatch and it's getting annoying. I can't say I have too much knowledge or experience, just that there are definitely some characters who consistently rape face, and others who feel underwhelming.

You guys might disagree with this, but I think the heroes should be powercreeped up to the top characters, rather than nerfs. This lets the heroes differentiate from each other, because constantly nerfing heroes makes them underwhelming

>Visual performance

Everything blends in. I'm used to Dota with strong colors I guess. Having fiddled around with lighting engines, I would say the skylight needs to be turned up in intensity

great artstyle though, feels unique and different. Honestly.

A multiplayer game's longevity depends on a lot of things. As long as the game is FUN, and it's FUN to get better, and it has replayability and stays FUN, then it will probably live.
The game needs to market itself that it's not LoL/Dota. It would benefit from a lot of basic features too, such as voice chat, and maybe even a post game discussion?
Going f2p will make sure that there is nothing preventing people from trying it out, but how many stick around is important

Yes some heroes seem broken and OP, but dota had the exact same issue, and still does. Riki and Slark were the pubstompers, who just shat on new players. That didn't stop people from playing though, because simply playing the game and getting better is FUN in dota.

Having a chat channel ingame to use while you wait for a match would be nice

this game is a pile of trash. It's like somebody looked at the spammy, boring combat of league and decided to make an entire game out of it.
Every hero's spells somehow involve a straight line, a cone, or a circle. Extremely spammy, and the heroes are hard to distinguish from each other in gameplay. Bakko can use his shield to reflect, where as rook does not have that. However, the variety in kits is mostly downplayed. Bakko is Charging tank version 1.0, Rook is 2.0

Jumong is overrated as fuck.

He folds far too easily to any sort of pressure, so if you're playing a comp with low amounts of CC you will get fucked over. It doesn't matter how many i-frames he has because most characters can easily catch up to him once he's used his short-range escapes.

His damage is justified considering how many characters can ruin his day.

Yeah sure, at higher level you wont ever hit 2 people anyway. Point is that everybody acts as if that skill was so goddamn strong when in reality it really fucking isnt.

Its 50 lousy damage spread over 2.5 seconds of consistent damage, which means it can just be counter healed, is stopped by virtually any soft and hard CC in the game, including simple push backs and at the same time requires you to basically run around in melee rage without being able to pop Zap. People also underestimate the fact that 2.5 seconds of channeling shit means 2.5 seconds of not casting anything else and regaining energy by doing so. I mean, with Seekers R being in the game it become pretty obvious just how bad Flamethrower actually is in comparison, especially since you cant properly utilize it in most of the situations anyway.

The more they buff shit, the less I am actually using Flamethrower. The only targets I really use that ability against nowadays are Rook who blew everything but counter and Vareshs and Harbs. Sure, the ability doesnt have a cooldown so you can, theoretically, chain it. But why would anyone ever do that? Just Flamethrower into M2 + 2M1s and you get more damage, for no energy, in less time. Most of the time I dont even have the energy if the game is going badly because Tazer is a worthless skill that I never use. I am unironically incapping for 90% of my E cooldowns. Tazer simply is fucking worthless outside of 3s where you have almost guaranteed jumps.

The only reason I am still playing her is because all the other characters bore the living hell out of me.

Why do you lose more/less points depending on how many rounds you win in a game?

A team can lose 3 rounds in a row while each round is incredibly close.

I also have a problem with the system because it values the first 3 rounds, in terms of MMR gains, over the last 2 round. This lends itself to cheese/rush type strategies.

If anything, shouldn't this distribution be reversed? Isn't it a better indication of skill when one team can adapt to the opposing team's tactics in the later rounds relative to the first couple rounds when each team knows very little about what the opponent is going to do.

No it shouldnt. It should be a flat gain no matter how many rounds you won or lost. Then the game can subtract or add a couple points if you were at an advantage/disadvantage.

The current distribution of MMR made sense in BLC because all rounds were the exact same. In BRITE this isnt the case. Some chars have ridiculous turn 1 BRITEs and start with a pretty crazy advantage. Others only start to get good shit on turn 2 or 3. They should have realized that adding character progression that changes the game should also result in the removal of punishment for losing rounds. Apparently they were too retarded to reach that conclusion.

I dont think you have ever seen top level Lucies play. They literally shit out damage while doing twice of Oldurs healing, and thats even if you ignore Barriers. If the Lucie places smart Barriers she completely rolls out of control. Just spam DI and laugh. Toxin Bolt also deals way too much damage.

Lucie and Oldur aren't that far apart, Oldur is just really restrictive about who you can pick with him and Lucie works with anyone.

She has better CC and a WAY better ultimate which she doesnt even need to utilize. At least I cancel cast half my shit at least once to bait it.

The problem is that they though it was a smart idea for Oldur to only have m2 as a heal. His space heal is completely laughable considering that spacing for heal is basically suicide. He can work really damn well with Ashka or Jade or Croak, generally independent ranged or hybrid chars. But with something like lets say Iva or Varesh hes just garbage. In 3s its even worse because due to the lack of healing and reliable CC you team is forced to not make any mistakes because its borderline impossible to ever recover.

I am actually playing at high level with multiple accounts being at g14, playing chars that arent fotm, playing against top rated people like Condemned, Busdriver, crazy etc. on a daily basis. Oldurs ult is goddamn horrible, thats something every single Oldur playing will agree with. The best part is that its negated and piss easy to avoid for, who would have guessed, Lucie. Barrier, Roll and Clarity completely negate it. And even if it hits the damage you can deal is laughable compared to others.

Favourite battlerites as Iva? People tend to say hers are very situational but I'd say not as much as people would make it seem.

Unless I'm against a bunch of champs that can stick to me and shit so i'd need the extra shield I usually go:

I play a lot of dota because many of the heroes are functionally unique, incredibly so. Pic related, it's Bane.
He can put an enemy hero to sleep, but they can't be attacked or the sleep gets removed, and placed on the hero who interrupted it.
You have techies who has almost no confrontational fighting power, except his suicide. He places down mines that enemies step over.
pudge throws a hook, axe forces enemies around him to attack him, and he spins when he is attacked.


Not that I want this game to turn into dota, but a champion like ashka should have only one mobility spell, and replace it with some really cool functionality. You could toggle being on fire or not, and do more damage but hurt yourself in the process

I'd say about 1/5 of the heroes all have to contorl multiple units and there's the occasional super oddball hero like Meepo who has fucking 5 of them, all fully functional and equally valuable, and he has to equally divide attention between them and if one dies, they all fucking die. Invoker has 4 spells used solely to make 10 fucking more spells that go on D and F. You have Wraith King, a hero that you can literally play with only 2 keyboard keys.
Battlerite's heroes all feel a bit samey by comparison.

yes it does. less abilities means theres less shit for me to do and therefore less situations that I can adapt to. Hotkey games already suffer from rigidity and I cant believe Dota games have as few abilities as they do.

The characters you're citing arent the norm, they're characters based around the gimmick. They need to resort to gimmicks because they have such a limited amount of abilities. Regardless of their gimmicks the ability limit ensures that there is versatility to a character, they have one role and can not fill others.

Battlerite succeeds because I can pick a character and I don't have to follow a singular gameplan and am left more to my own devices.

There needs to be more variety in the rites.
Some characters like ashka have builds that just outclass everything else.
