Help me understand the design process being used by the devs.
Every time they enact nerfs to make the game more like 'realscape' they reduce the choices players have, they make it harder for newer players to get up to speed, and seem to drive more players away.
Decided to watch Alectrona's vids and there used to be 50 or so people back then, despite having less content and less polish/streamlining, I've never even seen that many people online since I joined, and there seem to be less and less these days.

I feel as if banning alts is a bit too much since a lot of people have main and ironmeme alts, plus clearing out a few people's banks is just full commie-tier

this was once your average run-of-the-mill RSPS where a lot of things were imbalanced and out of place for the lulz. Some time passed, and the devs realized they wanted a more authentic RSPS instead and wanted to get things to the way they were back in 2007, hence all the seeming nerfs and changes

a lot of people have just left since big things like some quests, hunter, and construction are still missing while the devs can only focus on the little things like balance changes -- which put players off since there's no new real content

How to save it? You do not, because the direction that the server is taking is not suited for the masses. We will never get a big active player base simply because the server doesn't and won't appeal to them.

What are the disadvantages of having global chat deleted?

First off, global chat was NOT a 2007 feature.

Second, our thread here would be brought back to life = more bumps = more newfriends from looking at the catalog. Overall less dead threads.

Third, it would drastically cut down on the circlejerk drama since we're anonymous here.

Finally, people who want to talk to large groups can just join a CC like how it was intended in realscape a long time ago.

we need more QUALITY players, not just more shitters. Quality players attract more quality players, shitters only kill everyone off.

And don't give me that "b-but this server has always been composed of shitty players it's the true face of /v/scape :DDD" nonsense. I'm sure you and I can agree that a server completely and entirely populated by shitters only eats itself out into an absolutely dead server and where shall we grind then?

Deleting yell now would definitely encourage thread use, which again, is more bumps, which attracts more people from the catalog. This solves the advertisement problem and keeps the population self-sustaining.

Additionally as other anons have pointed out, cc's will start to develop and we can have fun cc clan wars again. When was the last time we had a real fun server-wide event? Wildy don't bother responding

Drama would be eliminated or at least, contained in their own cc's. Nobody can literally defend this, drama is just cancerous.

A newfriend "Help" cc would also increase quality newfriend retention, instead of newfag shitters that come here only to meme.

Bobster, I understand that we have survived this long with yell as it is, but having a sickness for very long time enough to get used to it is no excuse not to actually cure it, in my opinion.

I urge you to consider keeping yell global, if not outright deleting it. /v/scape needs it so you and the other admin's legacy can endure, otherwise it will be lost to the echoes of autism.

So im driving home from class and this dude cuts me off. Now I'm normally a pretty passive driver, however as he did so I received a rather rude hand gesture from said dude. Now this is where the line has been drawn, and I speed until nearly connecting my front bumper to his tail light.

As the road widens and we approach the highway, this man decides it would be hilarious to slow down infront of me, however it had opened up and opportunity to get around him easily. Normally I would keep on driving, minding my own buisness but today was the wrong day for these kind of shenanigans. This man was about to be trolled so hard he could feel it in the gears of his car.

Red light comes on a two lane road, and I am directly infront of the driver mentioned previously. He needs to turn left, but I need to go forward so I cannot sit infront of him much longer. Light turns green, and i put my vehical in park, sitting, waiting, and observing the upset of the man behind me. As the hue of the light fades from bright green to dark yellow, I remove my car from park and ease forward, ensuring that I can successfully go forward at a moments notice. I hold my breath, count to 5, and press the gas, passing straight through the yellow light now turning red as i look back and see the man behind me sitting in yet the same stop light we had just waited on.

I don"t feel bad for him, moreso than i feel for the people behind him and to say i would do it again is an understatement because "dang, that was funny".

Bobster, I just want to let you know and personally thank you for at least giving a quiet yell a chance.

I'm fully aware that it was a bit of a change for some people, but during the brief time yell was turned off all I saw was success. It really was quiet at first with the thread exploding in activity, but people joined cc's and everyone seemed content. People grew closer to one another.

As far as the trade cc goes, frankly I don't think it's a conspiracy at all but just a natural reaction to frantically find a place where people can spam their trade offers. I'm sure given enough time, more cc's would develop instead of just trade and maybe we can finally see the glorious cc wars. Trade cc was doomed anyways -- the owner quit and there's little to no moderation, making it a clearly temporary and desperate measure until better cc's are inevitably founded.

And while I do agree that not everyone goes on 4chan, I am confident that people from 4chan are the dominant poplation and it has always been that way. In fact, I don't think a quiet yell at all alienates people but draws them to cc's where they can know people better instead of just being another faceless yell poster, begging to be ridiculed and laughed at for stupid questions (rip jello).

Whatever happens, I still respect your decision. All I can really say is that realistically by your own words, more moderation and more mods just appears to be more unnecessary work on your part when cc's are already self-regulating. A massive shitposter in a cc can be kicked -- a massive shitposter on yell has to hog your attention for a quick mute, occasionally followed by their whining in PM afterwards.

Removing yell was a success and I still hope someday it will be permanent. I know you may not listen to us or take our opinions seriously, but Bobster, I know you really do mean well for the server and are just looking out for its best interest.

Bobster should appoint people to moderate yell. Any time a mod spends moderating yell should be time spent creating new content and fixing bugs for vscape. If yell is here to stay, it needs to be moderated rigorously by a player moderator who is an autist who spends most of their time on vscape. Some candidates I would personally recommend -

Jay Tootie - An active part of the community, knows well, good integrity, known to report suspicious activity, and knowledgeable about the game itself.

The Mountain - Same reasons as Jay, likable personality, means well, and plays very often.

Hurt - Silent grinder that hunts down exploiters and botters behind the scenes, cares about the community, would be a good yell moderator.

Animosity - likable personality, hunts botters/sploiters as seen in the sias and spore spectacle, would be a good moderator of yell.

Anyone who would make a good moderator for yell is basically just anyone who would make shitters shut up imo

There are other good choices as well, but people like b0ngzilla, Entropy, maybe even Ayror, I'm not sure if they log in enough to properly manage the community.

Also, if you really want to get specific, the UI we have is HEAVILY modified with things that did NOT exist in 06/07. Quality of life is a thing, asshole.
