I am persuaded that Zarya is actually the first victim of Lúcio if her nerfs go through. Her design is to punish trigger happy teams and this is why her DPS is so overwhelming, but she is balanced around heroes moving at normal speed where trigger discipline can really counter her.
Under speed boost, 2 seconds feels like an eternity and no amount of trigger discipline can stop her from gaining charge because you would be dead before the shield vanishes.

I think Prefer Healing Target is on by default. Consider disabling it.
It makes you always fly towards whoever you have your beam on even if they are not in your view or line of sight and regardless of where your crosshair is.
Theres' also an option that control how the skill activated - try both and find which one you prefer.

I know it sounds really dumb, but try out the heroes you aren't keen on in quickplay matches. You can get a feel for hogs hook's, learn about D.va's defense matrix and so-on.

Personally iv'e tried to learn at least one hero of each class so that I'm felxible in which role is needed in comp matches. Of course it's all the better to be able to play more heroes since it means you can switch to counter the enemies composition.

Also, I'm not saying you are but don't get tilted. If you team are generally being cunts in text-chat, then just mute text chat by pressing p and then selecting the little icon. This worked super well for me as I stopped giving a fuck about teammates and started playing harder to carry them rather than spending valuable time typing out why they should off themselves.

I litereally just got out of a Victory where one of our teammates was a Widowmaker main and another teammate got tilted so fucking hard by having a Widow on the team that they picked Torbjorn for the entire fucking match. Mostly played Reinhardt for offense which we cleanly won and played Roadhog for defense where we stopped them just before the second point. It was a good game because I muted teaxt-chat and generally fucking ignored the trolling teammates for the most part.

Well, there's your problem. She plays completely differently from rein. She's similar to Roadhog in that she has to poke out to build her charge, but once you have a good charge (above fifty) and your cds after down you can go to the front lines and fuck shit up.
She's just not rein who is front and center all the time. Hell, that's why people call rein the only true tank and why double tank is thought to be a necessity because one is always run on payload/2cp.

Why are people such cunts in this game?

I only got the game a week ago, I went into competitive as soon as I could and got placed at 2500, I've had an endless amount of "lol your only level 30 why you play ranked", "low level it's your fault we lose."

And then there's me getting shit and getting called a "troll" and being "reported" for playing Hanzo, who's my go to on defense, despite me having gold damage and eliminations 95% of the time and 1-shotting squishies.

Honestly, the main problem with torb and bastion players is that they're either way to defensive or way too stupidly aggressive. There is a nice middle ground that lets you output armor for days or turret mode safely.

All of the Defense heroes are designed for people who are not good at FPS games. Buffing most of them would involve having people be basically AFK and still be a threat.

Torb's turrets means he can literally be AFK and still be a threat if he's buffed.
Bastion is "stand-in-place and track enemies poorly."
Junkrat is "stay behind a wall and spam grenades on the point."
Widowmaker requires aim, but she can delete heores from across the map while rarely putting herself in danger.
Hanzo is just trash.
Mei is a cunt who can kill any squishy that has the misfortune to be near her (so basically she just camps the point) while having abilities that allow her the best area denial in the game for almost nothing, and a right-click that means if the person playing her is any good, not only can she be godlike on the point, but she also can snipe.

Honestly, turret position is a torb players least valuable skill, only at its most useful when molten core is up.
If you're playing torb, your number one priority is scrap to make armor, your second is closing off flank routes by placing your baby turret far off and placing yourself mid with that alt fire at the ready.
