Do you like fantasy fiction? The setting is broadly drawn so if you have a rudimentary understanding of basic bitch fantasy stuff (Tolkien, a bit of D&D, trashy genre literature) then you won't miss much. There's a lot of depth to the setting but you can pick all that up if you end up getting genuinely interested after playing.

Do you like Total War games? The game is simplified in a lot of ways from previous titles, mostly on the Campaign map management side, there's no food mechanic, no sanitation, diplomacy is very shallow, etc. But the primary difference from previous titles comes with the factions being a LOT more distinct than in previous games, what with the factions being entirely different races rather than primarily distinguishing factions by what color jersey and hat they wear. Some things are shared between each faction, like all of them having at least one heavily armored, elite infantry unit that uses a two handed weapon. But how you actually play each of them as a whole is quite different.

Okay so, I'm thinking about making my own mod to fix how fucking boring the WoC campaign is, mostly by altering LL's, Lords and Heroes and adjusting some building mechanics.

First off, I was thinking about having Chaos Lords and Sorcerer Lords have more different skill trees, having each focus on different troops in the roster. Chaos Lords would be more about Warriors, Chosen, Knights, Chariots, the more conventional troops. Sorcerer Lords would focus more on monsters and Forsaken.

Secondly, are WoC powerful enough to warrant having to deal with the horde attrition? I feel like the horde attrition is one of the main things that fucks everything up, cause you can't protect new stacks from getting sniped by the AI's sending everything they got against it, plus it makes you incredibly reliant on Lightning Strike.

I've had some matches that were really fun, but it's just too much bother to find them. One of the most entertaining parts for me is posturing, feinting, skirmishing and positioning before much fighting actually takes place, and that doesn't seem to happen much in Warhammer because of single-purpose meme armies. I still have hope that they'll overhaul MP with one of the next expansions though.

Alright lads another day another failure. I tested the siege glitch in custom battles as an anon said yesterday and basically I think it's the city of Akendorf that is bugged.
basically the towers won't fire and the gates are uncontrolled so I can't sally forth. Anyone know a way to fix this since I'll lose my entire army to Dorf fucking shits on legendary difficulty if the towers don't work.
Tried a siege with the same amounts of Units in Altdorf and the towers worked fine there

Location: Norsca, The Golden Dick of Chaos.
Dwarfs vs. Hellfire Legion of Asavar Deathcaller.

Simple battle between two stacks of Marauders and Chaos Warriors.

Grombrindal got hit hard by their two handed axe and nearly died, but I noticed how you can send shit units like Miners ahead into their lines then pop his unbreakable ability to have them fight on for ages while you pelt them with missile and arty. I'm guessing that might be a future multiplayer strategy.

This questline heavily involves Gotrek, which may serve as a hint for future content.

Another battle in the underway. Grommy's speech very nails into place how Scottish he is compared to the other lords.

The plot of the battle involves fighting to the Zhufbar army before they are swarmed. Deploy your arty in the centre, since Squids, arachnaroks and giants are going to appear right at your sides. This battle is proper difficult, and depends on how lucky the Zhufbar get before a second stack appears and finishes them off. It might be best to only support Zhufbar with arty and let them die so you get a bunch of injured enemies charging at you, but I still lost.

Armour of Glimril Scales.
Location: Marbad's Tomb, Bretonnia.
Dwarfs vs. Horde of the Apocalypse and the Doombringers Warherd.

You play the Marbads Tomb battle from Gelt's quest sidways, deploying in one of the forests to the side while Chaos deploys in the other, meaning a very clear battlefield centre with lots of stealthy areas and hills where you and they are.

The Big twist here is that all the shitty beastmen you fight are all immune to Psychology, plus 6 units of Beastmen Chaos Spawn that arrive behind you.

This was definitely one of the easier battles I fought, Rout the main army and snipe the dragon before the spawn arrive and you're set. I don't think I lost a single unit.
