Enviromine has a huge config file. It's like Hunger Overhaul - you're supposed to tweak it to your liking. You can make the heat or poor air quality less punishing so you can mine in the depths longer, or just disable it entirely.

I won't be surprised if people who make modpacks for themselves usually forgo Enviromine for that reason. It's just too much time spent on configs as opposed to collecting mods, checking configs and jumping right into the game.

It would be nice if there's a way to just automatically cause certain items to give one or many of Enviromine's effects, just like how Thaumcraft handles Essentia value assignment.

Nope. EIO's a good mod. The only real criticism I've heard about it is the lack of depth - you can explore the entire mod in an afternoon, with time to spare. But then, you could say the same about BuildCraft. And both mods give you stuff you'll be using throughout the game, so it's no big deal.

The alternative is mipmaps not functioning at all. I'd say it's a step in the right direction if, instead of breaking everything for those who use mipmaps, it only breaks a few things for those who use mipmaps.

I'm no expert on UWP apps, but iirc, it mainly has to do with the sandboxing of app.
The runtime of an UWP app is completely locked down, even admin accounts don't have access to the app install folder by default.
So my guess is that it does some type of integrity check and reports back when it's compromised with a message like 'problem with the app files, please reinstall the app from the windows 10 store'

Uncapping your fps and turning on vsync is going to make the whole experience smoother, for one.
Capped fps results in lower fps overall and causes some jenkyness, whereas if you let the game's vsync or your drivers do it, it will not result in jenkyness.

Redstone power input will change the switch from straight to curve. Levers or a timer are ideal due to trains being long-ish.

Railcraft also has its own form of lever in these guys. I wish I could use them with TC track, since they look like legit railroad hardware.

Rails of War (and I assume Real Trains Mod) has its own proprietary switch lever. Not sure if those big guys work with red power or not.

Right. Unfortunately there aren't enough trainfags on one server for one to play dispatcher and change the switches by wire for you.

It's not. I had many such mishaps on TrainSerb. We worked out a system for some of the more problematic switches. A RedLogic timer and indicator lamps go a long way with controlling switches to minimize fuckups.

This is something I need to mess with for the Guide. Railcraft has a "Routing System" that lets you program a locomotive to bring minecarts to specific locations, and TrainCraft's internal guide book says the trains will also work on this sytem (caveat being you need to use ugly RC/Vanilla track)

An easy solution I can think of if riding the trains. Of course is ugly and simple but it gets you an idea. Put a lever with redstone so that when you pass the player detector will make a signal, but you have it with a piston and a block so it can change between the detector affecting the switch track or not. Hope I explained well.

You could also build a refinery on the desert, where it would be easier to get the oil however you like, then send it to the refinery and then to your base. Giving the desert more reasons to put tracks on other than oil deposits that will run out and then the tracks become useless.

There's flasks that contain biome-essense in them in the mod. you can craft blank ones, throw them over the center beam of the altar, and it will allow you to create splash potions that spread the biome you captured

however, doing this creates degraded land under the altar, and abuse of it can make it spread out. the biome is kind of like TC taint, purple grass and all, it causes a lot of mobs to spawn. not sure if it does anything else, but it looks cool too.

In C, a float[][] is just an array of floats. Compiler magic makes it seem like there are a few floats[] in there, but those don't actually exist in memory like they do in Java. This also means that the float[][] is always rectangular. To do nested arrays in C, you would use a float** instead.

I'm starting a series of scripts that have the goal of un-complicating gregtech 5 U.

Removing most of the microcrafting with minetweaker and fixing the options of derpy tier/overclock upgrades.

Why? I want a mod fun to build fuckhueg factories with, and because I want to see gregtech as the best and most widespread tech mod in 1.10.2.

Do you thing this could be a good idea?

If optifine has it in that version you could try using the flipped or randomized texture feature, it does what it sounds like, randomly flips or rotates block textures so that they don't generate the same pattern and bleed out like that, though of course it can look like ass up close.

The icons are a legitimate fucking mystery. There's supposed to be 2 layers - a base, and a colourable overlay. The items have a default colour, and the code is 95% copy/pasted from the TC void robe code anyway, so I honestly just don't know why it doesn't work.

I've been slowly working on a small TFC pack over the last few days with some industry and magic mods that I've more or less made compatible with it thanks to Mine/Modtweaker. It's slow going and probably a bit clunky, but works. But all this traintalk that's been going on here and the fact that there's a (active?) server with loads of already established stuff going on has me wondering if I'll just hop on there for now. But I really like the base gameplay of TFC more right now than just the normal MC stuff.
