That's less than half a swing from most weapons, meaning it's more probable that the amount of swings required to kill you won't actually be changed than not. Having enough faith/attunement just to cast replenishment gives you 150 HP over the course of a match even if you only have it active for half it's duration, 300 if you take damage instantly (i.e. they throw a knife at you while casting), and for only another 4 attunement you can stack blessed weapon on top of that.

This is particularly significant when you're unembered in an arena, as each flat point of health gained is a larger fraction of your shrunken unembered healthbar than of your embered one. Take this build for example:

I get like 10 HP per second. I got hit in the face with a quill and recovered my health back by the time my opponent was able to throw another one at me a match ago. I also kill people in around four hits. People with sub 1k health can die in three, especially if I land an R2, but ultimately speaking, but I don't think any amount of vig investment would cause me to have to hit someone another time unless they were blocking a lot. Even if it did, investing that in regen would be better since I get up to 450 health once BW runs out, enough to for-sure take another hit from a middweight weapon.

Shulva was a place that worshiped dragons, and there's a bunch of mutant half-dragon things running around? Not a hard connection to make. One of the more understated aspects of dragon covenant lore is that the transformation isn't always perfect. Sometimes you get fuckups, like those things in the DaS3 Irithyll Dungeon.

Part of the reason why heavy armor was considered trash was that the absorption gains were inferior to the gains from vigor. Since you're unembered in the arena, the difference is less significant. On top of that, carrying an offhanded greataxe is good, but this requires enough weight to carry that greataxe alongside another weapon all while still having at least a midweight armor set's level of poise.

However, the flat defense from it is a meme, and leveling it for poisestacking is also a meme, as you can typically get enough from things around the range of alva or elite knight (though the fallen knight set has rather low poise for its weight). Unless you're using weak hammer-poise against an ultra, full faraam probably gives you more than you'll ever need.

There's one important piece of info you're missing, anon.

Your poise refills to 80% of full every time you use a hyperarmor attack, and 100% of full every time you use a weapon art with hyperarmor. So long as you have enough poise to tank one attack with 20.1% left, you can do it every single time whenever you want.

Strength builds can be aggressive now instead of needing to play like passive fucks.

What limited aggression where the worst running attacks in the entire series coupled with regular attacks too slow to apply any pressure whatsoever and recoveries so long that literally any weapon in the game can whiffpunish on-reaction.

None of that has changed. Ultras are still a joke when it comes to duels because they are hardcountered by passive play, and can do nothing against a passive player except be passive right back, because they literally have no button that creates pressure against backpedaling.

Ultras are shit because you can run out of reach of a point-blank R1 by sprinting on reaction, and then turn around for a free punish. That hasn't changed. Better HA literally only helps them vs slow shit like greatswords, and now you need 45 poise to even have HA vs greatswords.

There's no reason to stack poise for the bullyaxe.
Its WA has higher poise than any ultra, so it can poise through ultra R1s without requiring armour stacking. The fully charged R2s have 150 poise health so they migth as well be completely stagger immune, regardless of poise.

And nothing else in the moveset has HA. There's 0 benefit to poisestacking for an axe beyond the fact that you can advertise to the world that you're an overleveled shitter walking around with unironic havels.

They were incredibly annoying to fight against. Many classes are completly shut down and versus those that aren't, you just play a super slow game of punishing their mistakes.
If you pulled the GFS for instance, duels could take over 5 minutes as you just keep trying to outspace each other and the option of olling into them only works if they r1 more than they should

Dark Souls as a series is getting stale, it's 2016 they need to embrace new ideas like:
-New weapon types like murkrets or a medievil bazooka and you can take cover for things that are shoot back at you
-Parts where you have to run away from a huge enemy and the huge boss chases you to a turrent and you use it to kill him
-Other parts where you can use turrents on loads of people or even a catapult
-You can see how many kills and deaths you have in pvp and the more kills you get unlock extra abilities for you and new skins for your weapons and armour
-Free running and climbing up on sthings
-You have a npc partner and he is an ethnic and he makes jokes and he gives you estius flasks and stuff when your in trouble
-If you get backstabbed or parryed you can press a button at the right moment and you do a counter
-Bosses arent just running around hitting them you can get to like press buttons at the right time and it does damage
-Vehicle sections like on a horse and cart or a boat or like a stone age motorbike and gliders
-When someone invades it asks you if it's ok and if you press no then they are sent away
-You can go into peoples houses and talk to them
-If you get hit then dont get hit for a while your health comes back
-You can have a romance with someone and even it can be a man if you are a gay
-Better support like map packs for arena and new weapons and amrour or better versions of weapons and armour in the game
-Moderators chosen from popular members of the community, they will monitor for poor sportsmanship and ban those they feel are a negative influence on the community & metagame
-Some people need you to get things so you can go get them and bring them back and they give you souls or items
-You can get a pet and they go around and find items for you and secrets so you dont have to search around so much
-You can do a crafting if you gather enough materials or you can buy the materials for money

Its actually p good and a great weapon against fast weapons. The l1 r1 combo gives ha and that is what makes it so effective against fast weapons. Shitters keep running into the combo thinking it's over and die. It's a bit tough against heavy weapons since gs easily break through the ha of l1r1 combo. It's much better to use one handed r1s against them. Even tho l1r1 has a windup animation, it lunges you forward which can be a good gap closer.

Lifehunt Scythe got an impressive speed buff, you know. Dorhy's Gnawing has been good ever since the last buff. Dark Edge is actually really good if you can time it to catch someone out of a roll, which is something any spell user should know how to do by now.

I start off with the spell and spam it 2-3 times enough to create a mist.At this point the enemy runs into me trying to avoid the mist and gets hit my the l1r2. Followers didn't hunt fallen abysswatchers, they hunted low-tier abyss shit like Pus of Man and corrupted but not mutated humans, like their equipment description says. The Watchers themselves are the ones who fought abyssal monsters so huge they had to stack dark defense with rings and items and learn a special fighting style for that one purpose. Abyss Watchers would've gone after something like Manus, whereas the Followers would just clean up the scragglers in their wake.

Hey guys, I'm playing DS3 for the first time and I'm wondering how magic is balanced this time around. From the little I've gathered miracles seem like an interesting option (is there really a version of second chance in this?). I imagine pyro and magic is more of the same, except magic seems more spammy judging from the enemies.

Also, what dex weapon do you recommend? For the moment great scythe and the uchi seem pretty good.

IIRC one of their descriptions mention that the Followers were tasked with hunting down other members of the Undead Legion who fell tot he abyss in the course of their duties.

I actually think the name is kinda clever. When everyone heard "followers," they assumed it meant that they were adherents of the legion, when it turns out the name is literally, and they actually "follow" after the Abyss Watchers and perform cleanup duty after the Abyss has been suppressed by the main force.
