Not really often. I can rent it at my local library, but that's it. I don't own a PS4 and my local scene is way too distracted by BBCF. So right now, I can only count on my school's gaming club and that's if nobody is using the PS4 setup. And even then, getting someone to play a game that's not Nintendoshit/Shounen Jump arena fighters/LoL/Overwatch is another story.

I was checking around the MMcafe bulletin board and a user there pointed out that it's not listed on SNK's webasite anymore, so like some have said here and on MMcafe too they probably sold that IP. It's the same story but the SNes ending says Takuma killed Jeff Bogard (or 'defeated' him and let him easy pickings for Geese. Don't remember the japanese text but they used 'taosu' which is ambiguous for either defeat or murder).

AOF2's Geese ending rides right in front of it on maxspeed saying Jeff began to become a nuisance and they still need to do something.

I think Wild Ambition is one of those things where some details happened and others didn't. Legend of Stray Wolves mixes and matches details, but it draws more from FF1. There is that one A. A. Game History book that supposedly says that FF1 and WA tell the same story, but I've never read it myself. Personally, I'm just going to write it off as a What-If until I get hard proof that it overwrites FF1. Tsugumi and Toji got that one cameo in KOF 2002 UM, but I don't think a one-off gag counts.

The thing is, according to the same book, RB2 happened, too, and it takes place in 1998 or 1999. Xiangfei looks more or less the same in WA, so we can say she's around 17 or so, but WA happened in 1991; so even though Ryo's age checks out, Xiangfei's doesn't.

There's no reason why all characters from both FF1 and WA couldn't be present in the same tournament, just not all of them get implemented, and by the end it boils down to Terry and Geese, so everyone else's story relevance kinda pales in comparison - at most, it strenghtens the relevance of the characters present in both games.

Terry gets to be the final boss in WA for a few character - I like to think that those are the ones he canonically beat - IIRC that's Tsugumi, Raiden, Billy and Geese.

The worldwide thing is weirder and probably done for the sake of covering more diverse environments (and in some cases, maybe emptier ones, for the sake of SNK's relative 3D inexperience) - I guess international matches could count as qualifying rounds or something, since it all ultimately ends in South Town anyway.
