I followed the meta and went Blade Vortex pathfinder this league, but I'm really confused now. I've reached level 86 and have a 6 link chest, vinktars, 8.5k ES as CI. My main issue is that I can't really progress past T11 maps that have pretty much any damage mods. I also can't seem to do uber Izaro as the difficulty is insane. He has wayy too much health and damage as I get 1 shot from almost every attack that isn't a regular swing. He shoots the green shit at my guy (which is unavoidable), slows me down, then leap slams for all my ES. I have tried to complete uber Izaro around 44 times now.

I've killed izaro with only 7k es on my whispering ice char, as long as your damage is high enough he can't kill you.
You need the balls to be close to him when you are low on life and doge his attacks.

Depends on your current mix of ele/phys damage as well as how you're attacking. If you deal >75% ele damage go WED. If you deal roughly 50-75% ele damage go faster attacks. Generally you want both faster attacks and poison, they help each other immensely.

What is the best defensive option for crit frenzy facebreakers as a raider?

- Acro/Phase Acro dodge stacking with darkrays, Rat's Nest with lab enchant

- Iron Reflexes with block investment/Rumi's, darkrays or corrupted +1 frenzy boots (abyssus is more realistic here, but will probably still go with rat's nest)

Kinda torn since Raider and dodge go hand in hand but then gear/damage gets gimped.

There are good block nodes at duelist/ranger/shadow, but the IR tree either sacrifices life or crit. If you still keep on darkrays then you have plenty of block/spell block from the tree/rumi's and then around 25ish dodge/10 spell dodge at full charges.

so I have two jewels that give 32% spell damage and 14% fire damage, I know the "fire damage"(and a few others) "double dip" but that doesn't mean spell damage is completely worthless right? I was heavily specced in to health at lvl 90 with about 2ex worth of high-health roll gear and was a bit shy of 6k health.

I just regretted 90% of my tree in to ES. Spent about 40c on some low-mid tier ES gear and now have a healthpool of almost 9k (and a 30% dps boost). It's just too easy to get high ES pools compared to health.

BV synergizes very well with it adding to it the end game bosses can easily hit someone with good defenses for 5-6k.

People are overreacting because when you play a CI character you're always one step from a heart attack since you rely on life leech and if it fails for whatever reason, you're dead, so your ES is always fluctuating, most people don't like this lack of control.

Another thing, CI is very difficult for duelists and marauders to build around which screws with some melee archetypes since most ES nodes are on the other side of the tree. This type of meta sends a big fuck you to archers too since building a CI archer is awkward as fuck.

I won't go over hybrid because it's more expensive than CI.

I think people wouldn't complain so much if there were more skills at the top instead of the big 3 memes.
