If by wall you mean Sentinel's Grimoire, I have no real preference between that and Fat/Gold Chocobo. I rarely ever die as an assassin if the support brings one of those cards. If you mean Alexander or Pure Ice though, I prefer barrier since the wall only soaks up enough damage to last 1-2 turns.

He's versatile because he covers a wide range of elemental damage along with having blind and silence and an Spr penetrating special.

That's versatile in my book and fire element's the only thing missing so it's ok.

Most mages with fire damage in current meta lacks the other things Kefla does for me, such as access to spr deduction and not to mention the dark element.

I also find myself to be needing ice and thunder more often. Having blizzara and thundara also helps me save mana in dungeons

He's barely even better than Black Cat Lid as a damage dealer. In fact, he's a lot worse against most enemy types.

Fagpire Lass gets 426 ATK maximum with the event mats.
BC Lid gets 327 ATK maximum.
His best ability is 2.2x, her best ability is about 3.85x.

That means he deals 7.46684% more damage to certain enemies. But she has a fuckton of killers, whereas he has shit all.
If not for level correction, he would actually be considerably WORSE than her.

AND once the Antenora trial comes out and she gets a weapon with more than 60 ATK, she'll outdamage him by 3.24626%. He's the second worst 6* to ever be created in the history of the game.

The only thing you miss is some character development for Vaan with sprinkles of development for the rest of the main cast. They also introduce a new main cast character with Llyud, who's mainly there because it's a new Ivalice race and they needed a lead character for that race. They had some other playable characters added but are essentially spot/script fillers.

If you're into the Ivalice world and wanted a bit more fantasy-fantasy rather than medieval-fantasy, then it's a least worth a watch of a playthrough.

If you just need to clear it to fight the rider you just need two things: escape and raise/phoenix down. You can escape all wave battles and only kill the bosses, all of them except the pumpkin kid are undead so you can easily one-shot them and the pumpkin is random, note that this will give you very few candies. If you are actually farming the castle than you just shouldn't.

My DPS options are so shit, I have to use fucking WoL as DPS. Why? Turns out Full Break + Hyper Drive is still way better than anything else I can come up with, including tripple chaining casters.

The even sadder part? My DW materia is almost finished and I also have to slap it onto my WoL, since everything else is nonsense (e.g. Kefka dual wield would only give me 7.6% more damage), while my WoL could get up to 83% more damage, putting him at a respectable 375 attack power.

How does dual wield work with elemental damage, though? E.g. if I put an ice sword into one of his hands, do both attacks carry the ice element for chaining? So, Bladeblitz + Blizzaga? Or just Sakurafubuki for max physical damage?

FB+HD is the strongest repeatable attack in the game nigga, that's not sad at all. The only thing that beats it is Ramza's ultima, which you can use 4 times max.
You can also chain the hyperdrives together with one another for a slight boost too if you like.

Elements are weird with DW. BOTH attacks gain the element if you have just one, even if the other sword is nonelemental.

But let's say you have a fire sword and an ice sword. It will do damage equal to the average of its resistances. So if it's 50% weak to ice and neutral to fire, it will do 25% more damage.
If it's 50% weak to ice and 100% weak to fire, it will do 75% damage...etc
