What the fuck happened to the art for the new covers? Looks incredibly wonky. I was planning to get the LE but I'm having trouble justifying it when it looks that shit. Sweet Fuse is not that bad, though when it first game out it wasn't well liked for some reason or another.
Still have Princess Nightmare installed and waiting to start, but it's by KarinEntertainment so it's got some quality.
Yo-Jin-Bo was the first otome I ever played so I don't remember super good now and the translation isn't completely accurate either. But I remember it being fun.

I just want to fix this damn chart and be done with it. I've been sitting watching for hours and while some people were cleaning descriptions, nobody was deleting crap titles so I did it myself. I also deleted shit with no votes on the strawpoll.

While I do think a game with solid romance and characters alone is worth a recommendation, it shouldn't be considered the "important" mark of a good one. Also Norn9 hardly delivers on that at all. Shitty drama, unlikable assholes like Kakeru and Ron and guys that are ruined later in their stories like Heishi and Sakuya, wafer thin routes thanks to having 9 guys and abrupt unsatisfying endings. The only good thing about the romance is having three protags that allow for different dynamics, and even that wasn't executed in an outstanding way.

It needing an FD to make the original game look less terrible is hardly a plus point. I'd easily consider it one of the worst otoge I've read.

I disagree. I enjoyed it very much, especially Ron. All characters were interesting and the interactions in the group were great. Some routes were shit, but I enjoyed 6 of them very much, and that's a lot. There wasn't any cringy drama besides in the shit routes. The endings were mostly quite cute, I especially enjoyed the one with Heishi and Nanami travelling around.
The setting (the ship) was also a very enjoyable environment.

I'm not saying it's an outstanding game, but I'd definitely recommend it to some people.

The art is samefacey, the soundtrack and BG are copy paste cheap shit, the routes are short, the system is mostly shit, the writers are mostly no-names. And the games itself can get more expensive than console games.
Even if there might be one or two games with decent writing among them, the other aspects would still make me not recommend it to anyone, especially not to someone new to the genre.

It's true that some games that seem better (like Parma) are getting made, but the people that would be reading the FAQ are most likely EOPs, and as far as I know, all translated mobage are nothing special.

It was average. It needed a better MC and a few steps further with comedy to be memorable(and more Satsuki). The setup for the story and guys was so out there that when it came to serious moments a lot of the scenes fell flat and it was hard to get immersed in what was going on. I would have gone through the archive to confirm it beforehand but unfortunately it's down. Hatsukare got mentioned frequently as a good beginner game due to the level of Japanese + simple school setting combination. It's definitely better than your average vanilla school game and has minimal drama, a cast that has the right amount of quirky to stand out but still feel natural in the setting and consistent route quality. Despite it not being near my list of favorites I do think it's a good traditional entry level game.

Hotokenser used to be liked as a good comedy with a great protagonist, but that was probably way back and I haven't read it myself so I can't say any more..

I'm one of the people who voted for Moujuutsukai. I love moe boys but a game has to have something, anything more than just moe boys for it to be memorable to me, and Moujuutsukai really just had moe boys. Even if they're really, really moe like Lucia. God I loved Lucia.

Anyway, I did like the boys and their animal gimmick, but everything else about Moujuutsukai was cardboard level bland. Bland plot, bland villains, bland presentation, bland MC. I know some people like Tiana more than the average MC but I never really got why. Cat Tiana was adorable though.

I very much liked ReViceD. The MC is rocking, there's a cute mascot, great side characters, the love interests are relatively unique (dame host, hikki, mysterious boy and tsundere school boy). The more serious plot later on wasn't anything special, but it also wasn't bad.

I've been playing Haitaka no psychedelica and I like it so far.

My japanese is still shit but I can grasp a sentence and a word here and there so I've been able to understand what is going on. It helps there isn't much choice to do, and no obnoxious quizz.

The plot could use work and it felt rushed. It's set in a futuristic sci-fi universe where you can travel to parallel worlds. tldr; The MC named Tomoe is a bounty hunter that kills criminals for a living. Gets sent to a parallel world to rescue her other self who she has yuri undertones with. It doesn't take itself seriously.

Tomoe is interesting for an otome heroine. She's cuts people into pieces without care and admires her handy work. Says and does whatever she wants. Her obsession with cake is weird though and she can be an airhead. I wouldn't classify her as a self-insert.

She doesn't make a big deal out of sex and is open about enjoying it. Sex is pretty lewd with some cute moments after. There's a young love interest that she teases to death, a prudish megane she also teases, a cocky Dante-looking guy, and her crazy brother.

OST is good. Art is good. Good anatomy.

The company normally makes BL games and it felt like they were either hesitant to put 100% into it or were doing an experiment. If you go in expecting things to be on the level of their other games you might be disappointed, but if you just want an amusing time killer with porn then it's fine.

Has someone played and finished Haitaka no Psychedelica ? I have a few questions.
You can romance sweet sweet Revi right ? Because on one site I read only 3 guys were romanceable and it's a given Ravan and Lugus are part of it.
In the first part of the game, with the map, does avoiding certain scene has an effect on the unfolding of the story.
How is it tied to the previous game, knowing I didn't play it.
Also why do they use 眼 instead of 目 ?

In regard of Haitaka's connection to Kokuchou: Lawrence, Elric and the bunny all appeared in the previous game, albeit in different forms. Can't really give an detailed answer as I'm only at chapter 2 myself, sorry. But I'm sure it'll be revealed in the story later, so instead of asking for huge(?) spoilers it's probably better to just play it until the end.

Avoiding short stories on the map doesn't change anything, but you need to see some of them to be able to unlock routes. Seeing Lavan's stories opens Lavan's route, etc. The choices you make during obligatory scenes and the very last map(chapter 8(?))are what influence the route you get.

It's connected to the point your enjoyment of Haitaka would be increased a lot by having read Kokuchou first, but it's mostly a standalone story.

It's a mystery suspense with the cast in a locked manor situation. The plot is well paced, it does a good job of keeping you engaged and there's constantly new information thrown at you. After the big reveals it starts to wane for several reasons but the overall story is still good.
It's very short with the large majority of the game being one big common route, so if you prefer longer games that focus on individual characters for long periods of time that might disappoint you. My biggest issue with it was that the main theme the story dealt with wasn't dug into enough.

I'd recommend it and the general opinion here is that it's good.

Just realized how true this was on the murderer's route after I replayed it again once I finished gapmoe naive high school prince's route. Can't help laughing when the villain plays the 'make everyone paranoid to backstab each other' responses and fucks it up leaving the MC to divert suspicion away from his conversation failures. He even does that to the MC with his clumsy teehee whoops my fingers slipped and now your mobile is broken so you have no way of calling for help. If that was a NOCTURNE negotiation, pretty sure that guy would be exposed faster in his lie than you can say magnetite without the MC's help and the game would end sooner. I'd give a +1 to the overly paranoid info seller guy for his lasting power in the murderer's route, but I didn't like his disappearance and reappearance act in his route's ending.

Go for it, my fellow Summoner from another Akarana Corridor area. The music boosts the tense and spoopy atmosphere quite well. It's so refreshing to play an otome game where the MC's the only sane person who's got it figured out while the NPCs are the ones being manipulated. I really enjoyed this game and the murderer's route for its divergent way of doing things.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it yet. Just finished common route and on white rabbit guys route. It felt a bit dragging up till the boys went back to their original form. I feel they should have transformed at the end of the first month at the very least.

I'm also one of the few people that likes stat raising games, but I don't like how the guys appearances are randomized even if you savefag it. You pretty much have to savefag if you want to keep triggering encounters with the guys since sometimes even if he's in a room with only one activity and alone it won't trigger encountering him 100%

That said the boys are pretty cute, Jiyeon especially is a cute. I know i'm gonna play through it at least twice so I can romance him. Also helps that one of my cats look just like him in cat form. If you like slice of life games, it's full of cute everyday interactions so far. I have a feeling it'll get darker later though.

No. It's mostly one long linear path that branches off into very small routes at several points. You might as well call them endings rather than routes.
There are probably around 10 and they don't fall into the good/normal/bad pattern you usually get. There are a few that completely break away from the flow of the main story and just add exposition or a different spin to certain elements of the plot, then end abruptly.

Ken ga Kimi is in the same boat.

Starry Sky was dropped because of the above.

Ayakashi Gohan seems to have an active on-going project close to complete.

Clock Zero had the beginning translated, then dropped.

sweet pool's translation status has been stuck at 99% for years and the people working on it have vanished into thin air.

Omerta has a VNR translation project going with a few routes complete. No idea about the quality of it because I'm not installing it to check. Seems to be going at a reasonable speed.

CAGE -Open- also has a project on VNR with a few routes done. No idea about quality.

Taishou Mebiusline's common route and a few SSs were translated by someone who knows the era really well in attempt to generate interest, but it failed and EOPs still don't give a single fuck about the game. No intention to continue.

Kamisama (kari) had a project but I don't know what the fuck happened to it. Presumably dropped.

Galtia's trial was translated. There was plans for the full game but it was dropped for vague reasons.

Shingakkou has some sort of project going apparently but it seems like the person doing it doesn't know what the fuck they're doing so don't get any hopes up.

Pigeon Blood has a project started this year because for some reason people really, really want that game.
