How exactly do I play Kassadin?
What is my role in the game, how do I macro with him?

I know his pre-6 is pretty dogshit, so you're forced to play safely in lane and not die, but what after that?
Usually I just sit mid and farm it up for teamfights, trying to pressure the enemy mid as much as possible while keeping an eye on the map for tp-ganks.
However, most of the time it's kinda difficult to find good tp ganks since my bot lane rarely has brush wards on bot.

Then, around the time people start gathering and laning is officially over, the treal trouble begins. No one evers initiates, and I rarely get good flanks on enemy key targets (especially the ADC), so most of the time I'm forced ot just stack riftwalks, then go in on the adc and blow my load to initiate the fight, which almost always means I die first.

Plus its difficult as fuck to itemize on Kassadin.
I always start corrupting, get RoA first item / sometimes Dark Seal inbetween, then Sheen, CDR booties.
This build is pretty core I feel, however the real problem arises after that.
Usually it's time for a defensive item after that, depending on the enemy team comp. Either Abyssal or Zhonya, then Lichbane.

So, can anyone help me out here?

I always think the best way to balance a champion like Fizz is to make their weaknesses bigger, instead of gutting their strengths (like they did with Soraka, for instance).

Fizz's main problem is that his best ability, E, costs over a third of his entire mana bar.

Correct. It also depends on when you get your losses and wins.

Lowest you can get is Bronze 5 and that's with 0/10. highest you can get is Plat 5 and that's with 9/1 with the loss at the start of your placements or 10/0. Any where inbetween is a bit of a crap-shoot.

It's a straight nerf to any ADC who doesn't have high damage skills like Lucian or Ezreal
60 AD is less damage on auto attacks than 112 on hit damage.
This means it will be better for champions that considered it before at lower attack speeds and worse for ADCs and on hit monsters like Kayle and Jax probably still good on Jax anyway because motherfuckin Jax.

I main auto attack heavy ADCs (Jinx, Ashe, Trist, etc) and don't play the spell based ones as much. My secondary role is top where I play mostly Kayle. This is a big nerf to every single one of my champions minus Twitch where it probably goes about even. Warlords was already a "pick this or suffer" mastery for ADCs so I'm concerned about what's going to happen with it if it doesn't get nerfed like Fervor.

A nifty side effect though is a slight buff to tower taking since I don't believe on hit damage applies but the AD certainly will.
