Reprisal is very relevant tank mitigation that can be up very often, whereas Halone and Divine Veil are respectively useless and on a long CD.
Cover is also a huge meme, there's no good place to use it aside from A12S add phase, which is a joke anyways.
I dropped DRK in 3.07 to clear A3S, and haven't touched it since, it's just not good currently.

They extend the time it takes to do a single synth, but will either save you time overall because you don't have to bother even attempting to HQ the materials you use to craft the end item, or will get you a better return on the time you do spend because you'll produce literally like 1/5th as many NQ crafts as you would if you did Rath's on a 4-star recipe with 0 starting quality.
The only recipes where I probably wouldn't bother with Specialist skills at all are for food and potions, because the whole point of those is to mass-produce them and you don't really care if only 75-80% or whatever actually come out HQ. I think people just don't having that responsibility, like sure healers do a lot too, but you're not the one leading the pack. It's that sort of mentality. Hmm... I guess also because there's only 3 tanks opposed to however many more DPS there are... Also I guess another thing worth mentioning is people like doing "tons of damage", I see it in a lot of games, for instance in Overwatch a large majority of playing pick roles that are good at damaging others, rarely do you see people that tank or heal. Same goes for league as well, even though it's nice to have a tank on your team few people build tanky, they just want to deal as much damage as possible. Y'know, now that I think about it same goes for Gears of War, for the Horde mode there's different classes you can be and most people go for the Soldier/Heavy classes opposed to being an Engineer or Scout. Idk, that's my take on it all.

I initially leveled/geared my tank jobs so I could get faster queues, but the instant queues don't outweigh how much faster the dungeons go if I just queued with a healer friend or even with another DPS. The only thing I notice about other tanks in a dungeon is whether or not they do big pulls. If I'm tanking myself, the dungeons and mobs feel like they take an eternity to die.

There is no objective point to it. For the sake of "Adventurer in Need", which is dungeons and trials, tanks contribute very little to the overall process. Damage dealers and healers have many more working parts and healers by themselves contribute more overall than either do, simply because they aren't factored into damage totals in dungeons OR raids.
Healers > DPS > Tanks
But the variable for groups in need is:
Tanks > Healers > DPS, because nobody wants to play the bitch boy who corrals everything up to nuke down.

It just doesn't matter, because this entire conversation is about how the playerbase in general perceives each role. Nah, you only have to roll your face on the keyboard to make sure YOU don't suffer too much damage from busters, the rest is you, the tank getting carried by healers.
The core of tank play is positioning the boss and making sure you press a button at the right time so you don't get one shot. Enmity is a very, very minor factor to tank play when any tank who knows how to press 1-2-3 can maintain it without conscious thought.

With how scripted this shit is, tanking involves two things in a raid. You move the boss when you need to, you hit your cooldowns when you need to. If you're done a fight enough you don't even have to think about any of the other factors, not even enmity, unless somebody fucks up in a major way.

Healers dealing damage or good-instead-of-shit DPS doesn't outweigh having a tank who does decent DPS and (more importantly) keeps the dungeon moving by going from pull to pull quickly and doesn't make an unnecessary number of pulls.
Like the "difficulty" of playing each role in shitty dungeon content is nonexistent and trying to dickwave over that is like trying to be the most handsome burn victim, but if you queue for a roulette once a day on each role and do a good job of playing whichever you queue as, you're going to get through the roulettes faster, on average, on a tank than you are on a healer or DPS.

On average when I queue as DPS with a healer/DPS buddy, it's a sub 15 minute dungeon. When I'm tanking, it's quite noticeably longer. DF tanks have been doing a decent job of not having to be told to do big pulls.
It's not about dickwaving, you're downplaying how much of a bigger role healer AoE/decent DPS have in making dungeons go faster.
