The later. The first few enemy encounters are straight gangbangs designed to chase off low levels. There's a pair of dev messages as soon as you enter the DLC that say "You gon' git fucked" and "Don't proceed until you've dealt with Lothric Castle" to warn players they're entering an optional lategame area.

There's no key item this time. The NPC appears if you have the DLC, and talking to him triggers the entrance cutscene. By the by, we never actually see the painting that the painted world exists in. We enter through a tiny torn scrap offered by the NPC and that's it.

I have this really bad habit of completely disregarding stamina in these games.

Works out fine in PVE since often you only want to slash two or three times and then back off, but in PVP I always feel completely at a disadvantage having such a small stamina bar.

The stance R1s are functionally a paired weapon moveset.
There's 3 attacks, just like paired L1s, and they have a 2-hit true combo. Regular R1->stance R1 probably doesn't work, unfortunately, but in every other way it's essentially a paired weapon that doesn't lose out on a normal 2H moveset. Only downside is that the stance prevents sprinting, so no sprinting or rolling paired attacks.

IMO the most comfy invasion are in the Cathedral of the Deep.

It has a ton of unique environments, and there are a LOT of places where you can do cheeky Silvercat Ring escapes that are normally death falls, or temp hosts and phantoms to jump after you to their deaths. The recurssive shape of the level also makes it easy to come at people from behind or unexpected ways or from behind. There are also strong enough enemies to distract the host and phantoms, but not so strong that they'll completely do your job for you like in Irrathyll

The white glow was patched in in the wolnir patch months ago, but patched back out in the immediately following hotfix.

It looks pretty damn good, to be honest. An improvement over the blue. It's necessary to have some kind of glow because the sparkles don't align on all weapon models, making the buff all but invisible on some without the coloured glow. At least white is less offensive to the eyes.

How safe is CE table usage on DS3?

The WA R2 was fucking stupid and I've gotten back stabbed by using it more than any other weapon I've used in the game. But, if you time it well, it can catch people off guard and it flattens them to the ground if it hits. I've used it to execute a lot of times to decent success. It's also got high AR and is really long compared to other GSs.

Can't wait to see how they 'fixed' it with this update.

I came back like a week ago for the DLC.
As far as I can tell though, it's not possible to break in. It seems they didn't include the map or even the enemy models in the patch, so you can try to warp in but it'll get caught in an infinite loading screen. I haven't been able to successfully modelswap in any new NPCs even to look at them.

So NG+2 100-120SL is best experience in DLC?

Playing around with some of the HA changes.
With 17 poise I was able to go through two consecutive fights of constantly HA trading without a poise reset. My poise reset finally during the 3rd fight, but every hit I took across all 3 were HA trades. There was not enough time between these 3 fights for my poise time timer-reset, meaning it actually took 3 fights worth of hits to poisebreak me

Previously, I could endure an average of 2 hits in HA before a 3rd would poisebreak me, now the number of hits necessary seems astronomically high.

A UGS 1HR2 just 1st-hit broke greathammer hyperarmor in an invasion I was doing.

It seems like poise is much more important for tanking through the attacks of larger weapons since they inflated their poise damage so much. I'll bet most things larger than a greatsword will force a poise reset in 2 or 1 hits now without huge amounts of poise.

He was using a mace.

I did so much poise damage, that I actually managed to break his perseverance, meanwhile he didn't break mine once.

We got a bunch of weapon variety, non-quality builds have new toys to play with for once, the new spells were pretty okay without being broken, and pyro/hexers got way more than they deserved if we're being honest. All around, it's a fine DLC for its price.

Greathammers feel much better to use now.
I can tell that their recovery got a bit shorter, which is a big deal, especially because they start regening stamina earlier.
Their HA frames seem much more forgiving, too. Way less strict when timing to trade.
