I "get" roadhog's design but it doesn't belong on someone who's also a tank. He needs a serious rework, either

1. severely nerf his damage, remove his left click/make his right click his only gun attack and make hook a utility ability to stop ults and pull people out of position into your team and roadhog an actual tank

or

2. lower the range of hook, remove the stun, reduce his health and cancel his healing if he takes damage

You can't have a tank that can passively tank ults (his tanking ability is so insane he can stand in the entire duration of hanzo's ult if he just heals once he hits 200-300hp) that's also an assassin, king of 1v1, that's fucking stupid.

I'm still fucking pissed people bitched McFan out of existence while leaving Roadhog untouched when it's almost the same thing except Roadhog does slightly less burst (this only matters vs tanks) but has 3x as much health and a near instant 300hp self heal.

Roadhog is easily the worst designed hero in the game, it's not even close. They'll never be able to balance him because he's fundamentally broken. They'll either nerf him into being absolutely useless or pretend like he's not a problem and working as intended like they've done with Genji

The only way to make soldier on par with mccree would be to buff his biotic field so that McCree needs 5 bodyshots instead of 3. Other offense heroes already know they can't out DPS S76 and it is better to wait the end of his biotic field, so this would probably not massively change balance.

Fan was too much but removing it and leaving Zarya and Roadhog as they are is bullshit. Even with flash + roll + fan that's 5m less range than hook.

Now Reaper is the most reliable tankbuster in a tank heavy game and Roadhog and Zarya still give him problems if they're not completely alone and Roadhog doesn't get a lucky hook/click combo.

Regardless of where you think Roadhog falls on a tier list due to his hook being unreliable or "ult battery" meme (which is stupid because high impact ults like nanoboost and blizzard will get charged quickly anyway) he definitely needs some kind of rework to his hook if not his entire kit.

I found that Winston's Ult is great for CQC. If you can get people trapped in a small space, they're pretty much dead. Plus, his ability to close in on people after knocking them away is super useful. If you do it right, it feels like Arkham Asylum combat

Saying "I know you are but what am I" isn't going to win you anything here bud. Soldier goes from 17 to 5 with damage fall off. Going from 17 to 20 at close range isn't going to do much for him when he gets rekt at close range by many heroes.

But damage fall off isn't the only thing resulting in poor damage at range. Spread, and waiting for spread to reset, also impacts his damage.

On the other hand, mcree is pinpoint accurate all the way around.
