I'd say it's less that he's the only character worth talking about on a deeper level, and more that there's just so much more to talk about regarding him than most of the other characters, even ignoring that he's got the most translated scenes.

I like most of the characters in P5, and I think the majority of them have at least a few points that would make for good discussion, whether it's their circumstances or their personal character arc or just their characterization throughout the game. But while, say, Yuki's relevance is pretty much limited to Kamoshida's arc, his co-op, and the occasional small event or encouraging SNS to the PT, Goro is one of most involved character in the main story. He's a key player in Shidou's conspiracy and the events tied to it that connect a huge part of the game's story, he's the other player in Yaldabaoth's game, he's one of the only characters who the game basically forces you to get to know thanks to his co-op being automatic (and even then, you're rewarded with more info about him if you seek him out or pick specific choices in his scenes), and he gets a lot more moments that stand out in hindsight than pretty much anyone else.

His role in the story being polarizing definitely contributes to how often he's discussed, though, especially since there's an increasingly sharp divide between those who've been keeping up with all information about him and those who just stick to initial impressions and spoilers (and lack a lot of context for his character because of that).

I think we'll see more discussion about other characters once more people play through the game/more translations become available for those that don't speak Japanese. Goro will probably still come up a lot, but that's mainly because there's just a lot to talk about in his case.

Mementos is a waste of time. Its just the same dungeon over and over and stories are boring.

The co-op side stories are better but it takes so much time to raise your stats and there are too many people to co-op with. I want to continue with Makoto's story and I need to raise miryouku to level 5??? WTF??

This game is like Ryu ga Gotoku (high school sim instead of Japan night life sim) but without the fun. There is no funny memorable side stories.

Pacing is way too slow and there is too much over explaining with the hikikomori girl. The over melodrama is worse than Stella Glow.

I feel like I should have played Genei Ibun Roku instead.

Futaba really is not clever, is she. Wouldn't it be smarter to act buddy buddy with him so that he feels more relaxed around the group and thus more likely to slip-up? I thought the game explained that even if Goro blackmailed the PT, they took advantage of it by trying to find out what he was up to. Befriending him instead of antagonizing him would have been more rewarding, even if it was fake friendship.
This is kinda what happens with his co-op, since Goro feels comfortable around Joker, he reveals some important info about himself unprompted, and his mask sometimes slips up.

You can really feel for the guy as soon as you see his backstory. Career ending injury by kamoshida. Drunk, abusive father who I think abandoned him and his mother. Hated by his track&field teammates for getting into trouble with kamoshida, which fucked up the whole team. You really feel for him during a month or so

After that, it's a clusterfuck of constant screaming, screw ups (letting makoto know that they were the PT; teleporting the whole party to the middle of the desert, and many more), and that bullshit he did with morgana

So yeah, it's really a mixture of very bad decisions and moments that really screw him up

Actually, that was one of the things I was really glad about. I like that the PT actually act like *friends* toward each other in situations like that. Those interactions in the past games were so cringey from both parties

Despite being a somewhat shitty rhythm game, on a console rife with decent ones, it was surprisingly fun.
Even the story mode was alright, and I expected the worst.

I used a vitaTV and regular vita to play both my imported copy and NA copy at the same time so I could get the original audio first time playing the translation. I highly recommend it. Kanamin is like an entirely different character in the dub. I heard that an undub of sorts was already out there as the vita hacking blew open though. Hearing Kanamin singing the credit song is an especially nice tough you dont get with the localization.
