When I am playing shadowverse, I feel like I was having fun. Even when my opponent wins the game I won't feel bad.

But in hearthstone? When I lost a game I feel like I got molested by my uncle when I was a little kid.

I don't think the gameplay of hearthstone was ever fun. I started playing this game because I like the aesthetic. The gameplay element itself is subpar at best even back in the days.

The more I think about it, naxx wasnt a problem, everything that game after was the problem.

Think about it, yea a lot of cards in naxx were very stong but at least they were playable. If only they continued with a similar powerlevel it would have been fine.

But no, GvG was strong but full of rng. It was still somewhat ok if they fixed a card or two. Then we got BRM which was weaker but pushed a new archetype at the very least, still a step down.

Then.. Fucking useless TGT.
LoE was fine.
Old gods was mostly meh with underpowered mechanics as well.
And lets not talk about Karazan.

Hs is fucked for so many reason its ridiculous.
At the very core its completly unbalanced.

Just look a hero powers.
Life tap is pretty broken, any card game will teach you that th more you draw, the more you are likely to find answers and win, so what happens then? Well warlock is stuck with mostly subpar mechanics because it is inherently broken.

Now lets look at shaman. Rng totems, what a shitshow. No wonder they get broken carss after being this shit for a while. Lets not even talk about their class mechanic, aka rng slapped on anything remotly useful, and fucking overload.

And sometimes the long animations get in the way. Best example is yogg, where you don't know what is even going on and usually the whole turn gets take up by animations if he doesn't kill himself.
By the time you can see the final board stage, you don't have time to make your turn if you have something left to play. So you need to guess and just use the minions with green outlines before the animation ends to attack while maybe missing out on a good trade that is possible but you don't know.

Good game design to lock deck types behind a paywall. The longer the game length the more expensive the deck.

That'd be long as fuck. I've been playing on/off since beta and bought every adventure with real money. Yet I have barely any fucking legendaries and the ones I do have are awful.

I'd love to play a control deck but I'm sitting at 200 dust and I'd need at least Justiciar, Sylvanas, N'Zoth. Even if I had them I'd still get defeated by people who own more legendaries.

I can play midrange but I'd lose to the ones who have Ragnaros, Bloodmage Thalnos and Harrison. I can play aggro decks but they are useless in this meta. The game is basically forcing me to play a fucking shaman to climb, and even then it's 50/50 because every fucking opponent is either a Shaman or a Shaman counter.

No anon, you actually should spend gold on adventure (for cards that you can't replace) and classic packs first (because the classic set never rotates out of the standard).

Arena takes a REALLY LONG TIME before you start making profit (7+ wins).

You should practice in a different account (or a region other than the one you actually play).

I'm not talking about 10 or 15 runs, arena will drain A LOT OF GOLD before you start profiting. You will get crushed initially.

I play this shit for 1 year and I'm still not that confident with my arena performance compared to people like Kripp, Hafu or the guys from the heartharena stream.

The first thing is, the "Classic Pack" set never rotates out, so it is the safest pack to invest first because you will always be able to use those cards in standard mode.

There are 2 modes: Wild and Standard.

In wild you can use any card you want, even the ones which are out of rotation.

In standard certain expansions and adventures will rotate out when the first expansion of each year gets released.

For example in 2017 the expansion "The Grand Tournament" and the adventures "Blackrock Mountain" and "League of Explorers" will rotate out, that means you will not be able to use those cards in the standard mode.

You never lose the cards when it rotates out, they are in your collection forever, you just can't use them in the STANDARD format, but you can use it in the Wild mode.

Yes you can, except if it's an adventure that is out of the current rotation.

The difference about adventures and packs is that you always know which cards you are getting from each wing of the adventure (adventures are separated in wings, each wing costs 700 gold and gives you specific cards that you can check in the hearthstone WIKI).

You can't get the adventure cards from packs, they are exclusive to the adventures.

Packs on the other hand gives you random cards, but it's necessary to buy them in order to build your collection.

So basically the priority is the following: Check which adventures gives you the "mandatory" cards for the current meta, once you get those cards you start spending gold on classic packs.

Those cards in this deck are from the basic set (which you unlock for free just by leveling the classes to level 20).

They are in standard mode forever (just like the classic packs).

There are certain cards in the adventures that are just so good you won't be able to replace them with other cards.

For example back in the day people considered the 1st wing of Blackrock Mountain adventure to be the best wing of the whole adventure. Because it contains Quick Shot for hunter, Emperor Thaurissan (used in multiple classes and decks), Gang Up for Rogue and Grim Patron for Warrior (which used to be the main card in the most overpowered deck in 2015 before the nerf).

It was just too good to not get those cards for 700 gold.

But like I said, Blackrock Mountain (adventure), The Grand Tournament (expansion) and League of Explorers (adventure) are going to rotate out when the first expasion gets release in 2017. So I wouldn't recommend to spend gold on them as a new players.

So it leaves you with the Karazhan adventure, Whisper of Old Gods expansion and the next expasion that will be announced in November.

It's up to you to go to the Wiki and check all the Karazhan cards and figure out if you need them before buying classic packs.

Also just to make it clear, usually when people refer to "expasion" it means packs and not adventures. For example "The Grand Tournament expansion".

I wouldn't recommend using gold on arena now, you want to build a decent collection first in order to enjoy the ranked.
