Maybe i haven't bothered with jets that much, but if i'm not mistaken, using a simple jet and thrust vectoring i should be able to move.
As i said, i haven't played with jets that much, but i don't recall jets, big jets, custom jets or ion jets to have thrust vectoring capabilities. They just apply a purely forward force.

Advanced cannons shoot fast multipurposed bullets. Those cannons can range from 18mm to 500mm, are highly configurable, the bullets are usually fast, don't have much power (unless they go sanik fast), are very accurate, can target at long ranges and are difficult to destroy mid-air.

Now I'm actually playing the steam mostly for effect, planning to add some cranks under the wings on pods. The main supply is 4 huge turbines inside and battery banks.

can blow the boiler and it still runs for a few minutes on the steam pressure left in the turbines, and another 5 or so on the battery, so still gets a good 10 minutes combat after the boilers are dead.

Defeats the entire purpose of ARM OS or whatever other inverse kinematics scheme you use, senpai. Literally, you should only have to press 'forward', which is the entire goal. You should have reserved the mouse inputs from the control mod to enable the upper torso and arms to behave like Mechwarrior controls. Having a bunch of timers set to trigger each other then loop back around does seem to create a slight delay, this is with 16 timers, you get a much shorter delay with fewer. Might work as a single grid replacement to the piston timer.

Wheels are shit, you need to play with some values on the fly to not destroy them and also to have actual grip. mostly with friction, going from 15% wich is the drift zone, but they will act like regular wheels and if it goes too deep, it will be like the rim ate the dirt and then it just dissapears because of the damage.
Or going up to 25-30% to have better grip but by turning a 1 million ton beast a few degrees will kill the wheels in that instant.
So, you have that as backup, if the big one goes out, you will land on those and drift untill you can stop the thing, even put some friction, like 3% to use them to slow down.

Make a group with the small or all the wheels, put a timer to start itself and add the "add piston head", and set the timer as you want, take note that making blueprints or copypasting stuff with 1 second self looping active timers crash the game for me, so you need to deactivate them if you want to do something else.

You can use the maintenance projector but for the body, and asides from the tubing nightmare, its not bad to have welder near the wheels, would be a thing to test, and prebuild the ship with this in mind, instead of adapting an existing one.

Well, ideally the collision mesh would be calculated by merging the meshes of abutting voxels, much like how Minecraft does, so as long as the mesh isn't complex, NBD.

From what I'm able to tell, they already do that. There are additional slopes on the workshop, so look around.

It's easier to make a few more tracks than it is to redesign an area.
Copper and iron are the main resources make sure you have a solid expandable supply line.
You can place cement on the ground and you'll walk faster.
Automate everything you can, things like power lines and factories, solar panels and accumulators. Have them dump into a box and collect a bunch when you go past them.

When you get the blueprints and robots, use them, combined with the last tip you'll have them doing the work for you.

Not to mention i just saw one of those "push-to-spin" mops, when it's pushed down it rotates, when you turn the handle in a certain motion it rotates too (as the gear hits the pawl), if you turn it in the other direction the handle turns freely (the mop head does not move)
However when you bring the handle back up it does not rotate (unlike in the screwdriver where when it goes back up it rotates in reverse as it follows the groove)

Even if they were un-vented discs which I haven't personally seen on a new car since the 80's the discs would still be over twice a thick as the metal backing on the pads.

The disc would wear though the pads and the piston long before the opposite happened and I doubt there's enough piston travel or fluid to physically move the pads far enough.

Help anons, I got a GTX 1080 and this game is the only game where I get problems. My gpu sits at 20-30% usage at all times minus when I stare at nothingness in space.
Changing any settings does not affect my fps, 50km or 5km distance, it still sits around 40 fps. My CPU usage is 70% while playing so I'm not bottlenecking, help blease.

Upgraded the gold leaf to aerogel for improved laser and nuclear defense. Added a boron armor belt around the reactor and engine.

Reduced engine count from 3 to 2, still has decent maneuver and roll capability. Engines are inline with main attack vector, which isn't ideal either. May rotate everything else 90 degrees later.

Moved the coilgun aft because AI likes to target it.

In terms of PVE, as long as the drone base on the planet is destroyed, there's no issue.

In terms of PVP, this could lead to filthy gun terraforming of the entire landscape, turret ranges are lower in general and so on so on, though balanced by the fact that the opponent is limited to SV's for direct assault.

Drawback: Tunneling. You'll need external and internal defense systems, clever building schematic so the opponent can't just beeline for the generators/core, etc.

You can get pretty much everything in your own solar system besides two ores needed for the top tier gear, which are only found on the two hardest planets. In other words, there is literally no reason to go to other planets besides your starter planet and those two planets with erestrum and zascosium ore.
