I seem to be fighting heavies and seeing others play heavy a LOT more than I see medics. THAT'S what's bullshit. Being at range significantly increases both TTK and the number of shots due to inaccuracy, needing to fire in bursts, the lower damage, and difficulty in headshots. Which makes it feel like bullshit when the heavy flips on his resist nearly doubling his health, meanwhile he has often over 3x the armor per mag, if not as much as over 5 x the ammo, and the long reload doesn't matter due to the range and use of cover. In addition, he has long range AV and AA weapons, so why even play as medic?

That's like saying you shouldn't be mad at bolt babies because killing man's is their job. Heavies are supposed to bring firepower. Lmgs are able to put out enough constant stream of damage (while also minimizing damage via shileds) that the don't need have the same damage model as assault rifles. At long range it is that stream of dps and volume of fire that matters, and that's what lmgs do. There is zero reason to play long range medic.

If I could do the whole thing from scratch. Lmgs should do less long range damage, have less accuracy, but also less COF blume than assault rifles.

And yes she suppression matters. When you need nearly 20 bullets to kill someone at range aND they are popping on and out of cover to shoot you or running between cover, that ability to constantly plink at them or keep their shields down is a major advantage and crucial to the fight. If you have only 30 rounds you are going to be reloading very frequently try between kills, and that give the enemy more time to close the gap or aim at you and return fire

Yeah, and that is the case.

Real suppression in ps2?
The goal of suppression is to pin the target behind cover and make it impossible for them to pose any threat due to extremely high risk of being struck by bullets.
This is NEVER going to work in the everybody-has-shields, hp-bars-instead-of-wounds, dying-is-a-minor-setback environment.

If you're doing suppression in ps2 and it's working, that's due to psychological element only - ya know, the "welp I'm not walking into a stream of bullets" situation, though it's not exactly suppressing, simply stopping the enemy from walking out of the cover in that particular direction at the cost of your ammo.

For suppression to actually pin targets you'd need some weird mechanic, like LMG bullets slowing target's movement, so they are at a major disadvantage when trying to move from a suppressed position.
And even with this radical change, you only get the pinning effect of suppression; this isn't stopping anyone from peeking out which - as we all know - is a major annoyance in ps2.

In short - suppression in ps2 ain't gonna work because of the underlying game concepts like shields, facetanking, respawns, etc.

That being said, I wouldn't mind LMGs' power being shifted from damage dealing to slowing targets.

You make a gun (LMG in this case) for a purpose, if it's purpose is to do the same fucking thing all other guns do, why do you make it have such a large magazine?

Why are snipers so shitty in this game? You always need thousand hits to kill something with them, and all the enemy has to do is just moving, and you hardly can hit them.

PS2 is acceptable atm and could be even be quite decent if they dealt with the worst offenders (in order of importance):
cheaters > infantry vs. vehicle balance > more defined conquest goals > performance > p2w elements > more defined class roles > infantry balance

And yes again - shitty teamplay is another issue entirely.

The problem isn't that vehicles are OP at farming infantry, they should be, but on a fucking open field.

The problem is that vehicles can farm infantry even inside bases and shut down any fight, the level design allows either ground or air (or both) to farm the shit out of the people that try to go defend or capture a point.

ps2 can be saved if they remove the following:
construction auto turrets, HE, c4, a2g esfs (esfs lose secondary weapons as well), wraith flash, NS revolvers, medkits (resto only), AA turrets, heavies, maxes, and infiltrators.

more changes:

all sidearms are shared cross faction, since revolvers are removed. remove current es sidearms and make the NC sidearms (magscatter is shitcanned) the only option.

rename the medic to be the assault class, make reviving and healing have a cooldown so you can't revive a whole squad in 10 seconds, sligthly reel in the effective range and hipfire effectiveness of ARs, remove cqc ARs, use smgs for cqc.

give engies rocketlaunchers because no more heavy, built-in explosion resist for av work, make aa lockons only work against gals and libs due to removal of esf a2g capability.

boltard and semi rifles scrapped altogether because no more infil, scout rifles and battle rifles are the new long range.

LAs only get to use smgs, lose c4, make jump jets accelerate faster and resets flying cof to walking once landed faster than it does currently.
no more drifter or icarus.
LA gets dildar that works like the darts but only lasts a short time with a slower update rate, and can't be resupplied by ammo packs.

now you have only 3 classes:
the engie that deals with vehicles but can still pop infantry with carbines and be useful
an assault (formerly medic) class that can only shoot people but doesnt have the durability and versatility that heavies had, but has good AI combat versatility
and LA for flanking and surprise (but cheesiness is limited due to only having access to smgs.

of course this is just a quick idea dump and is probably full of problems, but I really think that cheese is what is ultimately killing the game. It makes noobs quit when they get killed by design cheese.

also remove battle hardened and restore screenshake to pre-implant levels

i think you're on to a couple things but the majority of your changes are in the wrong direction. removing heavies would potentially be a good change but there are too many other things being removed. can't just purge all the cancer in one sweep without addressing things like people being invested in purchased cosmetics and unlocks and what not, as well as all the art assets going to waste.

the majority of the issues ps2 has stem from the maps and how they aren't designed to accomodate varying amounts of players. Some bases are clearly intended for 12 vs 12 CoD fights, where as some bases were clearly intended for big-ass 96+ standoffs, but very few bases seem to smoothly be able to handle a wide variety of over and under pops and small and big battles alike. SNA and NC Arsenal strikes me as two bases that would potentially be a good template for how a good base should look, give or take a couple features (the elevator room in SNA is maybe overkill and NCA needs to have its capture points in a linear fashion like SNA)

-infiltrators can either have shield OR cloak
-shields don't suffer more damage from headshots (there's no actual reason for them to do)
-introduce an actual flight model for ESF's and aircrafts in general (maybe air currents to destabilize your flight), in order to make ground pounding much much harder
-lower ESF health, but make them more nimble with the FM rework
-rework tanks abilities (Panzer 3 Prowler should be based around mobility, and Vanguard should be a slow bunker)
