So can someone help me understand what im not getting with crafting? Ive got like 817/708, but only like 320 CP. For some reason even when I nail most hasty touches I still cant get 100% quality except with tons of lucky good conditions. This is mainly an issue on 35 durability crafts. What am I missing?

DRK is pretty well-designed. It's PLD that has the worst tank design. WAR is the biggest problem with tank design in general, though, even if it's a decently-designed class in a vacuum.

They shouldn't add any more healers until they can figure out how to make AST viable without being blatantly overpowered, though.

Typically it's because the standard rotations most people use require so many cross-class skills that there's just no room for Innovation.

Apart from that, Innovation just isn't as good as it seems. It sounds like it multiplies all your Control bonuses by 1.5x, but it actually just adds 50% of your base Control. So with 11 stacks of Inner Quiet, your control is already at 300%, and Innovation just increases it to 350%. It's a nice bonus if you can get it, but it's small potatoes next to the multipliers you get on IQ and Byregot's.

They're not hard to get at all now that they've been nerfed and none of the crafts are of any appreciable difficulty. The steps would basically be

>Do your class quests up to 50, if you haven't, to get your AF tool
>Buy a Mastercraft Demimateria from the MB, and turn in that, your i55 tool, and one NQ 3-star turn-in item (requires 2 Fieldcraft 3) to get your Supra
>Get 5 Moonstones (can buy them with GC seals, or get one a day from Ixal quests), make 5 HQ Lucis turn-in items (can buy the important requisite materials with GC Seals, or get them from i45 DoH Leves in Mor Dhona), and trade those in with your Supra for the Lucis.

Assuming you did your class quests and have the gil and GC seals to buy the materials you need, you could probably get a Lucis in half an hour without trying too hard.

They would design 90% of a class that is completely unrelated to BLU in any way, but fills a role/niche that they think would make a decent addition to FFXIV.

And then they would fill the last 10% of its skill slots with a handful of skills based around placing some sort of doll/totem like a Machinist's turret, and the idea would be to place the doll somewhere where it's going to be hit by an AoE or cleave, which destroys the doll and gives you one of six different skills based on what type of damage the doll took.

I posted in a /v/ thread earlier about it, but I'd enjoy a BLU class where you start at like, 50 or something and have job quests every level or two where you go back into an old raid or dungeon to go back and defeat a boss to gain that ability.

I want Heavensfall or something from T9. I think it'd be pretty interesting, a cool way to expand your skillset and it could also have a neat parallel story about BLUs of the past who failed or those who think you shouldn't harness those abilities or something.

You are right about the learning ability however I mean that most abilities within 14 are rather simple in their design which means anything exotic would most likely not be incorporated within BLU's design.

And learning spells will be done like anyone else learns spells. Get a quest, go out to a scripted fight w/ X monster, kill it, absorb essence and you learn its "Ability"
Call me archaic but I liked learning the abilities since they had some really nice abilities you could use and keeping up your BLU magic skill and addition equipment to learn it was the journey towards perfection.

Job quests could be boss skills and Blue Magic enhancement abilities redesigned to fit XIV (in other words, just made to be compatible with certain skills, kinda like DRG's Power Surge for Jump and Spineshatter Dive, but more of them). Regular leveling skills could just take inspiration from several regular mob skills for a leveling pool, but also bring in several well known abilities BLU had access to in previous games. Like you could level up and learn Flame Thrower or one of the many breath attacks like Aqua Breath or Frost Breath. They'd only need enough regular mob skills from XIV or older games to cover 1-50 alongside any other abilities they throw in alongside them. Job quests from 30-level cap have a ton of boss skills they could use as long as there's no primal overlapping with SMN egis. A gimped version of Ancient Quaga, for example

I think it'd be interesting to see how they'd handle BLU, if they do bring it over to the game in the future. I think they've shown that they don't mind mixing things up for newer jobs, whether that's a good thing or not lies somewhere in all the changes they gave AST. I think they made most jobs more interesting with HW over their old ARR styles, too. I have a bit of optimism for them to make BLU interesting if it does come. MCH ended up differently than what I expected a gunner job to be, but mostly because I spent a while expecting them to bring Corsair before MCH was announced
