So, I've got a youtube channel (mostly Overwatch bullshit) and it hasn't been going great.
The only video that I would call even moderately successful was IMO lazy and clickbaity. WTF is it that people actually want to see on youtube? I feel like I've experimented with most formats of video, but even the popular one video I have doesn't translate into new subs.

Kids these days who grew up on YouTube are used to it, They think clickbait is completely normal, because that's what every website does nowadays, not just youtube.

I personally won't click on anything with all-caps titles and click bait thumbnails and the like, But, i'm a huge minority so yeah, If it's attention you want, clickbait away.

It still is possible to have a successful channel without resorting to that, But it'll obviously be a lot harder

Serious question: Is there anyone here who actually likes the 2-CP maps, Hanamura, Volskaya, and Temple of Anubis?

They're so fucking bad I just wish they deleted them from the game. The only fun thing about them, is that sometimes you can win a round extremely fast by bum rushing the 2nd point.

Aside from that the games are so friggin long and tedious, There's nothing fun about defending 1 choke point for 8 minutes straight.

I waited because I can usually just team up with my 2500+ friends. That starts me off at that baseline because i'm going against other 2500 people.

My friend waited to do his placements in S1 when all of us were like around 56 - 59 and he got placed at 63 while almost all of us got placed near 57 even with mostly wins.

I was in a rut since starting to play again after buying the game recently but man I picked Hanzo and just kept mowing fuckers down and getting potg every time. It was crazy. He wasn't even my favorite character before but I dig him now though I usually only ever play him on defense.

Elo hell does exist, but I don't think in a way that people think. Elo hell is traffic; you aren't in traffic, you are traffic. It doesn't matter if you're a good driver or a bad driver, if you always manage to drive in the same way instead of adapt to traffic, you will contribute to traffic.

Elo hell exists in low elo strictly because no one understands the meta or general game strategy. How do you comeback when your team doesn't have a single understood pushing strategy? How do you defend when no one knows you can defend Route 66 from the roof of the gas station? Teams at low elo just durdle around until someone gets either a purposeful or lucky series of kills. This is why everyone seems to perceive that low elo is just a series of blowing people out and getting blown up, every team is literally a breeze away from collapsing.

If you're good enough to consistently kill the enemy team, you will rise. If you know how to lead your team, you will rise even faster. But there is no doubt that no matter your skill level, being in a team that doesn't understand how to play at a level above basic technical skill will slow down your climb, like traffic will slow down good drivers.

You literally have to Shepard your team.
When your shield approaches half you need to make the decision to press on or to head for cover, doing so in a fashion that will allow your team to understand what you're doing and allow them to support you doing so.
You shouldn't be throwing firestrike out whenever it's available, you do it whenever it's available AND non risk.
You want to drop you shield and take some shot occasionally so your healers can build ult charge, it's a good strategy that preserves your shield a tiny bit as well. However, doing so when there's something like a Widow, Hanzo or Junkrat firing into you then you probably want to hold off a bit or only do it if you're certain no one is standing in a position that would get them killed.
Also, I noticed that some people STILL haven't turned on allied health bars, you need to do this for every class, tanks especially.

Things that I am about to say aren't pure flame hate comments, they are just my honest opinions. Maybe I am just stupid for getting the game without researching these first, I probably am.

First, I expected a server browser and dedicated servers instead of this button which you press and it puts you in a totally random map, random team and random players and then dissipates the party once the game is finished.

If letting me choose the map will result in long queue times, fucking let me choose the game mode then. Is that too fucking much to ask? I don't want to play 5 koth games in a row.

As fucking dumb as it may sound, I miss getting on my favorite dustbowl map and chatting up with the other server regulars while hitting our sentries and dispensers and shit.

Thus the forced 6v6. Fuck your competitive. Fuck your "pro"s. Fuck your "meta"s. You can't design a casual as fuck game to it's very fucking core and then point out "balance" and "competitiveness" at every turn as an excuse for your severe lack of content and content creation speed.

Zarya is a wet noodle unless you learn to use her bubble and grow stronger.
You need to have situational awareness and be able to see who needs your bubble most. if you see someone being charged by reinhardt or hooked by roadhog you bubble them, or yourself.
You also need to understand your health. you have the least of any tank, but half of it is shield and will recharge if you leave battle for a few seconds.
Your bubbles can only gain 50 charge at a time, keep that in mind too.
Play a bunch of qp as Zarya. Her primary fire is great for close range, don't be afraid to use it when you have charge, a lot of people prefer her alt because it's simple, but it does less direct damage.

It's all about charge, with 0 you can't even kill Zenyatta or Mercy. at 100 you instakill tanks

I'm so mad here that the rein was able to get his shield up the second the concussion blast went off. Had I knocked rein over the edge here, it would have been far easier to melt the other tanks (they were running 3x3), and they would have lost rein as a nanoboost target.
