regarding the bb/gg tourney character choice shit, you have to keep in mind that gg's main selling point is balance and competitive play. this is why you have people maining a single gg character for years and they're able to compete regardless of tier placement.

bb on the other hand almost has versus mode as a bonus and the main selling point is story. tiers change wildly between versions and even mechanics/moves are altered to make the game seem fresh. you're going to see a lot of high tier characters at bb tourneys and less character specialists. i wonder how many jap players used the same character since bbct? would be interesting.
