Glad to see someone posts this when I can't.
Just think of how far they would have come in three years.
At the start of the week they both felt alone, confused, and somewhat scared of where their lives were going. Then one week changed everything. By now they will have dealt with a lot of their issues, forged strong friendships and bonds, and Max & Chloe's relationship would be unstoppable. They've confessed their feelings long ago and are now going through life strong and together, maybe they ever have their own apartment by now and make sure to visit Arcadia Bay fairly often.
Both of their parents are incredibly proud of how far their daughters have come and glad at how happy they are.

I kinda went in to it hoping for similar LiS feels.
It was pretty beautiful in its own way, but it wasnt as comfy. In fact, a lot of it was downright uncomfy.

Still, I enjoyed it.

The real question is, how about this game?
For me, it didnt even have an inkling on of the comfy that LiS had, but the story hurt in a couple of similar ways.
Though at least gone home had an unequivocably happy ending.

That would have been an interesting ending but I'm not sure how well it would have fit or how well it could have been shown. It also raises tons of questions like how different the people that do exist are, but overall the world wouldn't change at the absence of two girls. Which is why the whole idea is interesting, the world doesn't feel incomplete without Max and Chloe, but Max and Chloe feel incomplete without each other.

I did some reading last night too. 'I Know That Life is Strange' updated last night and it was pretty crazy. That story's basically that Max has to go through the week again with all her knowledge but without using her powers. But things go very, very, wrong. As of the last chapter Max thought she was left with a very difficult choice of having to choose who lived and who died, but with the help of Chloe she found a third option.

Right now she's closing on the end of her nightmare. Facing her fears and insecurities, which she will conquer.
And what more fitting to conquer them then her own mind (Perhaps under influence of hearing encouraging words from the outside) creates a vision of Chloe to set Max free.
Max has nothing to feel guilty about or to feel ashamed for, she's not perfect and that is totally fine. She will follow her heart and make what she sees as the right choice, to save her friend and allow the both of them to have a proper chance at life together.

The storm is now hitting in full force. It was unavoidable from the start. Nobody knows what will come after, as uncertainty always immediately follows a disaster, but people will recover. Once the storm dissipates it will bring sunshine.
Human spirit is indomitable and in the worst times you often see the best of people. Those in Arcadia Bay will deal with their losses and will rebuild, just as Max and Chloe will deal with their experiences of the past five years and indeed the last week as they grow as people and as a couple. In the end everyone will have at least one person there to support them; and sometimes that one source of comfort, inspiration, trust, friendship, and love is enough to get through the worst events imaginable.

Probably broke into that building (Generator, bathroom?) next to it to seek shelter. It's almost entire darkness aside from their cell phones but they sit together and huddle for warmth. Chloe letting Max know everything is going to be okay. Max scared to fall asleep in the event of more nightmares, until Chloe lulls her into a short but peaceful slumber.

At first I thought this was a bit silly, but it actually makes sense

Mon night- Max stays up almost all night reading about time travel, probably gets 3-4 hours of sleep
Teus night- Max sneaks out and finally crashes with Chloe after midnight, probably gets 7-8 hours of sleep
Wed night- Max stays up all night working with Chloe
Thur night- Max's only 'sleep' is being drugged by Jefferson

Of course, the 'real' Max actually did sleep on Wednesday in the alternate timeline... which makes you wonder whether 'real' Max had to live with the physical toll of Auto-Max doing work all night once she came back.
If not, there are some very weird implications, like she could turn Auto-Max into a slave who works every night while she sleeps.

When Max comes back from autopilot she may feel well rested if her body was sleeping. But mentally she would still be exhausted. Kind of a moot point since the amount of times it would have happened would have been miniscule. We also know using her powers too much can cause her to go unconscious.
If everything goes well, Chloe shouldn't know she's talking to autopilot Max. It's still Max, so she knows exactly what's going on and what Chloe is talking about, the only downside is that Max will forget the conversation and will have to be filled in again.

The quality/quantity ratio is very good. Although his post-processing style kind of reminds me of Google's DeepDream. Sometimes too much so (pic related).

Not sure I'd call it good artistry though - but he's definitely one of the better render creators. Posing, lighting and especially expressions are much more game-resembling and believable than you get with a lot of amateurs.

So this is mostly for Late Night Anon who seems to be the only one interested in what I was writing up to bother replying.

I thought I would have a lot to say about how making the different choices changed the gameplay a lot, but I don't really. You get enough different dialog and scenes that I think it's definitely worth it to do another playthrough though (making entirely different choices), and it can be done quick since you don't have to spend time figuring puzzles out. That's about it.

There really is no right or wrong ending. I wish they made both endings equal. I also feel like there should have been a third option, something along the lines of Max sacrificing herself to save Chloe AND the people in Arcadia Bay. But whatevs.

Obviously there's some artistic merit in it, but as you say, the "creative" part of the process is something rather different, because you are pretty much using pre-created assets (pre-existing artworks) and readily-available techniques and the art is "only" in combining them. Over-painting or re-painting like ArtKitt for example does sometimes is a step above in terms of artistical legitimacy, but still not the same as creating a work from scratch.

That said, renders if done right obviously are some of the best fanart there is, because they "capture" the characters exactly like they are. Visually and otherwise. "Done right" meaning posing, expressions, lighting, etc. but also context and setting and stuff - otherwise renders actually come off very creepy. Like lifeless dolls being hung up and modeled. Even the better renders still lingeringly have this creep factor to me, because if you do accept the characters how they are as a reality for themselves, these "modeled realities" are like digital slavery or something. But that's just the vibe I get when I really concentrate on that - casually I just accept the renders as implied realities, ideas and sentiments.

I actually think Max could user her powers as much as she wanted, although she know they can hurt her if she overuses them so she will be cautious. But she is done changing things through photos. Going back in time like that and changing events that have already influenced life is not wise, as she learned.
I think the storm was just a freak accident that came with the first use of her power. She has more control over them now so it won't be an issue. Max can freely rewind whenever she wants as long as she knows not to overdo it and to keep some power in reserve for if she really needs it.

Seriously conflicted about this. I want to experience every dimension of the game but fuck man, I don't think I could bring myself to let Kate die or hurt Pompidou or any of that stuff. But I know I would gain a much deeper appreciation for the game if I did. Thing is, the reason I can't bring myself to do it is because I love the characters so much. As much as I love Obstacles, Skeletons, etc, the most musically moving part of the game for me is when you first 'wake up' from the crippled-Chloe timeline and hear In My Mind through a distorted haze, as if you were underwater.
Being back into the bright light of Chloe's room, seeing her there in front of you, coming from the agony of the previous choice (especially if you did accept her request), and then hearing that hopeful song slowly fade to clarity is a real punch in the feels.

It's doubly nostalgic and happy-sad considering what you find out later that day.

I wish there was a way to avoid having to save William. I knew even when I was playing that it was not going to end well, you cannot just change a massive event in someone's life like that and then think five years later won't be radically different. Changing something far in the past results in "negative" consequences because you have something to compare them too.
The game is about moving on from past mistakes, tragedies, etc. But the even bigger lesson is that you can make up for those mistakes and can get through tragedy with the help of love. Max's power is the ultimate show of her love for Chloe. And the reason for the activation of Max's power only became known later on when it became clear who she saved.

Sure is weird though how one ending used a new song while another just reused one from earlier.

Literall all of my friend circle has played it. All got upset to varying degrees. Most only played the game when all the episodes were out, though, so they didnt have quite the same level of involvement.
Honestly though, there's a pretty widespread tendency in media to kill off lesbians or give them really bad ends. So we're kinda used to seeing them go through horrible things and die.

I had the interesting experience of first playing through after all episodes were released but not knowing ANYTHING whatsoever about the game - not so much as a trailer, a quote, or a rating.
I assumed by default a mainstream game wouldn't go anywhere near LGBT issues and that there was no way the devs would have the balls to push anything but a platonic relationship between Max and Chloe.
Thus the handful of overt moments like the kiss dare ended up blowing my expectations out of the water, in spite of the overarching tragedy-porn and dodging.

So i checked it out out of vague curiosity.

I watched up to Max getting to the bathroom and rewinding to the classroom again. I closed the stream and bought episode one and played it right there.
I straight up didnt know anything about the game before that random thread.

I actually didnt think the game would hook Chloe and Max up through episode 1 and figured it'd just be some subtext maybe, since they seemed like they had chemistry in the offing.
Regardless, i mean we all know how comfy episode one was. So I bought episode two, then got caught up in it, and suddenly lesbians everywhere.

And then I got horribly involved and immersed, and hopelessly attached to Max and hopelessly identified with Chloe, and then everything went awful.
Shouldve seen it coming, shouldnt have hoped. The lesbians always die.
I just hoped 'this once' you know?

I couldn't eat for about two days after and felt really nauseous. My mind racing with thoughts of everything and how I wish it turned out.
I felt sad about my choice (Because I thought everyone in Arcadia Bay died) but still felt like I made the right decision for Max's sake. Then I was trying to find as many fics as possible to read and continue the story in my head.

Either way, it ends with Max and Chloe together in one of Max's proudest moments (And no storm).
