Soldier is an ok character.
Good damage, area-heal and sprint gives him a lot of playstyle versatility. He can shut down a pharah, tracer, genji or anyone who's bouncing around and making themselves difficult to land hits on. He's hardly ever played though for one major reason...He's boring as shit. Despite the fact that he has no real counter, he's so boring to play that there's no point in trying to counter him since hardly anyone is playing him. He was made to give cod shooters a transition into the game.

It's only that the meta and gamestyle is different due to controllers and such, but I'd reckon a 3500 console player is just as good as any Diamond on PC

3500+ on PC is well out of console's league just due to the fact they'd be able to out-aim them, but it's not a massive gap like 3500 = 2000 from console to PC
The only issue with console is the aiming, but they have their own meta to kinda counter that, not everyone is shit like it's made out

I have. I haven't played OW in months, keeping myself at level 98 in preparation for those sick loot boxes. I'll have fun playing it during event and will probably continue to have fun with the game if I get even some of the shit I want, but if I get NADA, then this game isn't worth shit.

Watching the Koreans last night on Genji was sickening. There was a point where Genji had run up a wall and double jumped into a flank position above an enemy, land 3 shurikens into their head-

then he doesn't even keep looking at her to finish her. Before he's touched the ground, he looks at another person and waits a moment, falling, and swift strikes over to his new target. Swift strike's massive hitbox finishes off his first target, gets the reset and hits the second. He's been in LoS of the enemy team for little over 1 second, airborne with his tiny hitbox. He has already killed a person and has all of his cooldowns up and has already done 50 damage to a second target.

The problem with so many heroes is that Blizzard has relied on "internal testing", a bunch of plat-average players with obvious amounts of hefty bias. Genji is made so forgiving so that a bad genji is still a nuisance, and uncounterable on the highest level.

All different stuff, if I'm watching a stream it's usually the top guys like TviQ, etc, but I like to watch gameclips of Overwatch on YouTube and stuff

I'm in the Top 100 for PS4, and when watching plat PC games even I can tell the really stupid decision making that some of them do, like gah. Last one I saw that I remembered saying "wtf are you doing" was a Genji running into 6 enemies trying to contest the first point on Hybrid rather than just group up with his teammates which were calling on him.
It was overtime, so there was literally no point in contesting but he attempted it, died, and did absolutely nothing (didn't stall any time because it was overtime), and it left his team weakened and the other team pushed right through because of it. Then he changed to Bastion (lul)

I think that's the thing with it, it's not all just about aiming and reflexes, you can have incredible aim but still be shit if you don't know how to play, you have to have some tactical instinct about you if you get me.

If I knew how to use a m/kb as well as I did a controller, I'd be around Diamond from what I've seen, because I've got at least some tactical wit about me. I'm not quite as good as PC Master rank though, despite being 3800 on console

The thing about console is, our game sense is still top tier (if you're in the top tier caliber anyways) but our mechanics are nowhere near PC. It's a real eye opener seeing getting rolled by some MKB players on console. Granted, the playing field isn't level at all against MKB, but seeing the mechanical differences first hand is pretty neat.

But yeah people severely underestimate how important situational awareness, game sense and strategic sense plays a factor. Of course there's the huge mechanical gap, but for the most part anyone that's mid-high diamond and above could be plat on PC, even higher when their mechanical skill catches up to their game knowledge
