Its a memory control thing where they influence the MC's mind by controlling his memories, forcing him to go through multiple simulations of different scenarios because one girl made a bet with another in order to spare his life from a murder game that started on the school's campus. You get simulation, after simulation, after simulation, until you finally reach the true mind fuckery end.

I think it was worth it at least.

after finding his true he manages to convince her to live in the real world instead of her fake believe paradise. MC is then let out of the lab after a few more tests. Also turns out Nemu was the true childhood friend manipulated MC into hating her so that she can save his life from Kanae who started the murder game in the school because she is a scientist going through PMS or some shit. Two years pass and he manages to contact big titty teacher who gives him information and trains him into Yuuji from Grisaia. He then goes on a hunt looking for Nemu because Kanae helped her escape and both are wanted Criminals. He manages to track her down. Kanae gets killed, but MC saves Nemu from being recaptured and keeps his promise to watch the stars with her. Despite the fact she loves her memory.

That little tid-bit at the end pisses me off the most. Also dude isn't going to play it so I have no trouble spoiling it for him.

This is a long shot, but does anyone here know if it's possible to convert the .tlg files extracted from 働くオトナの恋愛事情 into PNG/BMP files?

I can extract the image .xp3 archives just fine but I suspect there's some weird encryption going on and none of the tools I've found can convert the .tlg files that come out.

For context, 働くオトナの恋愛事情 is an AkabeiSoft3 game that was known for using overpowered DRM that caused trouble for users that bought it, and since it was cracked anyway it was abandoned for the next game. It came out this year if I remember correctly. Already tried using various tools like arc_unpacker, Crass, and ExtractData.

Hoshimemo was shit for one simple reason - padding. It's a 20 hour VN padded to 40 hours, and all the jokes are reused over and over and over again. It suffers from the exact same issues that Grisaia 1 did, sans koestl to make it more tolerable. It'd be good if it was cut, but it isn't. It's also why I never could like the first Grisaia - episodic padding, episodic padding everywhere.

I'd seriously take a couple Dracu-Riots and Noble Works over a thousands of Hoshimemos. VNs stop being fun with filler.

It's because Umineko is polarizing. Higurashi and Umineko have the same sort of "style" but they are vastly different in terms of how the story is structured. It's hard to find people that are lukewarm about Umineko because the nature of the story makes people either love it or hate it. I think it is partially because people expected the story to be like Higurashi when they went into Umineko, but I still think Umineko is worth a read even if people here always shit on it. It's one of my favorites. If you end up not liking the story the soundtrack still is pretty incredible.

People always sperg out at me for saying it: is Zero (or at least, the anime adaptation of it) being better than F/SN really such an unpopular opininion? F/SN was incredibly bloated and Nasu's lack of skill (and seemingly, lack of experience with the fuckloads of literature going back centuries which adress the same themes with far more nuance) made the clever parts like each route sucessively showing you Shirou's maturation go to waste. The constant awkward romance, Cooking Show attempts and horrible sex scenes make you painfully aware you're reading a visual novel, in a bad way.

The Servants would have been better if they were played completely in earnest rather than seeming like a deliberate attempt to reimagine them as anime characters with cool battle shounen superpowers. Particularly Saber, the character suffered from being treated as a designated romantic interest and plot device. She's a protagonist on 2 out of 3 routes and the VN still failed to sell me on her being King Arthur - I could only imagine a blatant anime character clumsily transplanted into a far more interesting mythology. Playing fast and loose with Arthurian legend is not the problem, that's been done sucessfully many times before, there it was just done badly. The whole thing tastes of self-serving otaku writing, which was pretty much confirmed by the fact that there are virtual card games and magical girl spin-offs coming out of the franchise now

Zero seemed to respect its characters and tone a lot more, and the world didn't seem to spin around Kiritsugu as much as Stay Night did around Shirou. I'll admit part of it is me preferring adult main characters, though.
