I've had the Pensacola sitting in port for almost a week but I haven't set sail in it once. It has such a reputation for being a pile of shit and I've never felt the slightest bit threatened when fighting one even while bottom tier. It's not even fun to spin in port.

I own a Myoko, honestly, with the Japanese turning circles, I never really notice the turret traverse except when switching my guns from port to starboard and vice versa

The gun traverse on the Pensacola was immediately noticed by me because of how much your survivability demands on your zigzag. I had to stop zigzagging in order to get my guns to fire stock
Of course now I'm fully upgraded and I no longer have that problem

The idea is not to be spotted first. If you haven't got the upgraded torps yet, you can't engage without being spotted, so wait for an even fight between ships to develop then start shooting and torping and make it unfair in your team's favour.

Once you get the upgraded torps you can torp without being detected. These torps travel very slowly though, so don't waste your time trying to torp ships that are fleeing from you.

Considering the current levels of AA and now that every IJN CV will have fighters. Playing strike without being really good will just make you an exp farm for the enemy CV and enemy ships. Just go 1/1/1 for t6 and t7. At t8 you have enough reserve planes and the 1000lb bombs that going strike is viable.

The Bismarck from what we can tell so far pretty much has no downsides.
With manual AA it has the best long range AA, but 2nd best overall AA.
It can have 10km secondaries ontop of this which are absolutely devastating with manual secondaries skill.
To top this off it has great armor and hydro which goes out to about 6km iirc. Allowing you to push into DD contested areas, avoid torpedos while absolutely punishing the fuck out of any DDs that come near.
