Which of the following options would you prefer for piloting a fucking AC-5

1. Fly to a area of the map and enter 'gunship mode' with a specific command where your plane orbits around a point that is offset to some degree

2. Normal gameplay, but have your guns lock on like missiles except to the side and downwards. You'd have to hold the look button to see your current target though.

Vereen was a Runningback, which is usually an eligible receiver. But for this specific play, Verenn declared him ineligible, but the Ravens defense (in white) wasn't going to take any chances, so they sent defenders to cover up a receiver who couldn't catch the ball. When the ball was snapped, as you can see, the defensive line was rather confused about what their assignments were and what the offense was doing. Hoomanawanui took off running after lining up as if he were a regular lineman, which usually is ineligible, when he is really a Tight End, which is an eligible receiver. Brady completed to Hooman on that play, for 21 yards I believe. The Patriots also took care not to attempt that play until after halftime, to prevent the Ravens from talking about it and figuring out the trickery.

Alright, here are the results.

It was rather easy to sum up - even by pushing the acceptance level up, no players from the dismissal list got below 20% rejection so everyone's out. Tanaka, BAMCO JEWRY, Jean-Louis (I'm kinda sad about this, was literally our first player), Rise and MUH HONOR, MUH PRIDE, MUH LIFE have served /aceg/ well and now will earn a deserved rest.

As stated in the poll, the newcomer votes would be just a way to rank them if we didn't get enough cuts so everyone got in. In VGL7 we'll have QWALITY BAMCODE, Skilled Pilot Medals, Heavy Command Cruiser and Anastasia. Finally, back from retirement, good ol' AWACS Heavy Cloud. A few votes would have been voided for not checking the corresponding option on the second question, but it didn't change the final result so it's all good.

Thanks to everyone who participated, and stay tuned. The Babby Cup is happening soon and we'll be able to see 30 Tickets as a starter in /vg/'s roster. That's the whole idea behind VGL, so let's cheer for our boy.

The YF-23 was supposedly stealthier and faster (by how much of either is still classified) than the YF-22. The YF-22 was simpler to build, demonstrated working weapons bay, and was more maneuverable in a guns fight. Although, according to YF-23 test pilots the YF-23 was no slouch at low speed either because of its weird shape.

Lockheed won primarily for logistical reasons. The YF-23 was built out of complicated and difficult to manufacture materials, and Northrop just didn't have the manufacturing capacity that Lockheed had to satisfy the numbers that these planes were supposed to be built in. Lockheed was also just coming off the wildly successful F-117 project which delivered on time and on budget, so they were already on good terms with the USAF and seen as refining and adapting already existing and working technology.

The YF-23 was pretty forward thinking in prioritizing speed and stealth, but that's not what the brass of the day wanted, and cost/infrastructure is always a big factor in these things. They picked the safe option in the YF-22.

Something else worth noting about the political climate of the day was that the B-2 was at the same time under all kinds of scrutiny for rising costs and thoughts that it wasn't going to be as stealthy as it should have been. While unrelated, the F-20 debacle was also still fresh in people's mind. The F-4 is not Stealthy at all. The airframe design Is a relic from the 50s, when radar observability was not a consideration.

I wouldn't even know how you'd be able to make a plane that even vaguely resembled the F-4 while still being stealthy.

Hi /aceg/ I'm not a regular around here but I have some questions hopefully you can help me with.
Ive been binge playing ace combat lately mostly 5 since hardware emulation is mostly fixed now and my physical copy is damaged beyond repair and I wanted to play AC:I.
I played it for a bit when it first released but stopped and was wondering if it is even worth it, have I been left behind?
Does every other player have all planes maxed out?
Also how big is the install for AC:I including updates?
Ive been updating it over night and I'm on update 3 of about a dozen of them and for some reason the updates download at a rate of about 50kb/s.

I downloaded the base game at my connections full speed but for whatever reason the updates are at snails pace

Can confirm.

Base game downloaded in around 45 minutes for me,updates took 4 hours.

I used the mipmap hack and it, along with the align sprites hack, fixes the terrain and vertical bars at high resolutions.

I still get this blurry double vision though. Is that just an inherent PS2 thing or can this be fixed?

Believe it or not that's just the Ace Combat post processing. It's different for every map, I think one of the clearer maps is Blind Spot from AC5.

yep, lots of stuff looks quite different on the low res screen of the PS2. Incidentally that's why the weird texture sliding problem isn't really noticeable on a PS1, but is annoying as hell if you upscale in an emulator.

Yea it looks great.
Zero runs flawlessly now at 3x native resolution 4x in some levels.
5 is basically the same, except for the free look model viewer thing in the hanger turns everything black but who cares about that.
