Well there is a price point. Darius Burst is $40, but you get tons on content. If a game doesn't have as much content it should be priced lower. Even if it is the best shmup of all time. Something like a Darius game is really fun to replay where other shmups don't have as much replay value to them.

Well firstly you are forcing a correlation between the consumer aspect and the playing aspect which doesn't exist and secondly the consumer is king, a product is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and in this case given the shoddy quality of their ports thus far I think it's way over priced. It seems to me hardly anyone even cares 2 fucks about dfk and just want to try ketsuipachi.

hmm if you enjoy it then absolutely, Einhander is a really cool game but it's very much its own beast and if you want to get into scoring and such it's a very tough somewhat complicated game to learn. I also love the atmosphere and play on einhander, Stgweekly did a really good episode on the game that you should watch.

I'm well aware of the lasts SPS and Fufufu accomplishments, which don't mean anything in that regard. You can actually score as high as A with B but that requires stricter routing and super precise movements cause you're slower and kill pop corn faster. Pretty sure they could beat their B scores with Type-A if they wanted to. Just try to full chain stage 1 with A then B you'll see what I mean. With Type A you can chain the ennemies after the tower just by lasering and moving, while with B it just doesn't work because you move too slow.
Iconoclast who's been playing Type-B for more than one year and beat his previous A score, said that he doesn't see why anyone would choose B over A, but still keep playing with that ship for some reasons.

I don't understand why people are so reluctant to accept Touhou players like myself, but the illusion that great Touhou players drop the games in favor of arcade games is completely false, not a single one of the better western players have done this to my knowledge, although a few did mix things up a bit (myself, Zil, dot_asp...)

Thing is that this thread has no idea who the good and dedicated players even are. Do you know about Everlasting? Mino? vcz? Denpa? They play Touhou and not arcade shmups, yet they are clearly among the most accomplished western shmup players. This thread seem to think that the Touhou is harder crew were ever any good at Touhou. This is incorrect, they only had basic survival achievements and crummy scores. The great Touhou players usually do not play arcade games whatsoever. Myself, I dedicated maybe 10% of my shmup time to MAME, so that makes me an outlier, but that's still a good chunk of time overall and well enough to get accustomed to them.

The idea that you have to play arcade games to matter is so idiotic, it's sad to see this thread is so full of bitter nobodies throwing such opinions around. Meanwhile people such as myself are respectful of the interest in pursuing both arcade shmups and Touhou shmups since, although the scenes differ, they're both parts of the same genre I love so much and naturally have so much in common. Even if you do not care about the game in question, it's not hard to appreciate the skill involved in playing it.

I know I'm likely reasoning with a brick wall here, but think about it and come to your senses.
