I'm on apocalypse difficulty.
If you want to complete the DLCs I recommend having a good offensive Nanashi with all demons as supportive walls.
Seriously, Enduring Soul, Life Surge, Debilitate on one, Luster Candy on another, drains/repels, Mediarahan, Doping.
Currently Mephisto, Alilat and a Mastema that repels every element, that's all my demons are, fucking walls that heal and support.
I mean, just try fighting Cleopatra without Doping, Enduring Soul and 1000+ HP demons and enjoy watching them explode.
Some replacements also help in case they die.
For the rest of the game just Enduring Soul seems to be good enough although I still have to face YHVH.

Just beat SMT If. Gameplay was fun but I felt as if the Guardians didn't really matter much at all and that it being tied to your dying and punishing you because of it was silly and was a bit disappointed in the difficulty honestly. As for the story I definitely thought it was weaker then I and II, nowhere near as over the top and fun as those to. I've only played the first three SMT's so far, gonna keep playing the rest of the SMT/Persona in order.

How do I play SMT as a Christian?

On one hand, it's good because I stop the evils of law and chaos.

On the other, you play as literally a demon summoner. Is it okay as long as I play with no demons? Or should I do it by recruiting demons and not fusing at the cathedral of shadows (obviously the synagogue of satan)

Magic, invest in fusion booster, grind
Random encounters are easy as fuck so long as you learn Shibaboo and Bind Voice on those demons with high ailment affinity are your best friends
At the beginning recruit three demons including a mandragora, then go kill only the mamedanuki spawns in the other map on the first city.
Grind there and invest all points in fusion booster until you can make Angel, this will make the first boss battle easy. Mamedanukis are easy to identify since they are the tiny quadruple beast model mob
After that grind a little on Fairy Forest until you are level 13, that's when the first demon domain opens.
Go there and grind on the big beast model spawns, those are group encounters of Azumis/Inugamis that give high as fuck xp with hama/bufu
Recommended demons are Kwancha as it has high ailment affinity and comes with bind voice, Archangel, Principality, Parvati, Jack Frost
And once again, remember Fusion Booster is your best friend, just dump all poitns into it, then demon skill and only later nanashi skill

Think back to the game. Nowhere in it whatsoever, is the massacre end associated with a larger peace from no gods. Only freedom of thought and human independence from reliance on them. Even when talking to satan your options for why you did this are freedom or truth. Not anything resembling peace. The game even says that since you have no pantheon you will defend yourself from invaders using the humans themselves. The idea that this is a pseudo law ending where you created eternal peace is wrong. Its not in the game. Its something people decided would be an implication before playing it since they didn't know the established rules.

The game isn't ambiguous about this. The goddess of tokyo can come back because all the gods can in some way or another. You can't find anything suggesting otherwise because it was never the intention of the makers that that was an implication.
