I know the meta is basically frontal armor, side scraping, big guns, corridor whores.

So what's a good heavy tank line to go for? I'm not particularly far along with any of them. I do have an IS2 if I want to use a Premium tank to make money and a crew for another IS tank.

That's just a standard warning you get after you've been spotted for around 3 to 5 seconds. But it doesn't always pop up. Really wonky. I think the enemy needs clear line of sight to you for that duration.
Sixth sense is a trainable as well, but it works different from PC as far as I know. If you get spotted it instantly pops up and stays active until the enemy has lost you completely, i.e. you're undetected again.
