Chapter 9 is very blocked off making it easy since she hits for decent numbers, and Chapter 10 has a wall in the West where she can park her ass and bully Onis for a good chunk of the turns until Takumi drains the water

Chapter 11 is fine for her since she can go into Azama's room to fight the Diviners, since they have relatively poor stats

In Chapter 12 she can actually ORKO the Merchants that spawn once your units cross a certain extent of the map, also can avoid 2RKOs on the ones with Irons thanks to Pot buffs + Effie

In Chapter 13 she can just sit on the leftmost Gate and basically laugh at everything that tries to fight her while 1-2RKOing her in return

I'm not saying that she should go into B tier, but I've been using Nyx so far and she hasn't been a hindrance at any point, in fact she has made notable contributions to efficiently clearing almost every stage now alongside with the rest of my core army (Corrin, Camilla, Beruka, Selena, Silas, and Niles so far)

Beat Chapter 14 in 4 turns while grabbing both chests, Nyx flew up onto the stage with Beruka to nuke the Hexing Staff slut and then killed the rest of the Onis + Archers thanks to having high avo against them with Fire and ORKOing in return, I didn't use Leo for this since he was busy nuking Samurai in the middle of the boats to clear everything out for XP on Niles and Selena and then helping Rescue-chain Corrin to Kumeraga, up to 17 now

So so far, I'd say she's better than Keaton/Charlotte, heck she's nearing promotion soon too

I ignored Skl and Lck since in her case the difference is negligible- they're going to be low no matter what, the difference for her between 6 and 8 Skl functionally is much less than that of 5/6 and 7 Def. And to have a point up in each of her important stats is notable considering that taking one less point each combat round and having an extra point of HP at any point in those early levels is enough to impact your ability to use her as chapters progress.

The problem is that his suggestion assumes that your Nyx is panning out well to slightly above average in those first few levels, when even a couple bad levels in that stage would be enough to severely hamper her. It's not just about if you CAN be stat screwed, it's how that stat variability impacts her ability to be used long-term.

And yes, a support backpack does deserve some credit when she gives the best bonuses to one of your best characters who uses a 1-2 range S-rank weapon. That is definitely a role that, whether or not it's the best use of your deployment slot, certainly fills a particular niche and gives her viability that Nyx doesn't have.

Because in a game like Conquest that limits resources and experience, using a unit that may not pan out in the short term and offers no real bonuses in the long term is a hindrance to an optimal build. Sure, she can fill a role there in Chapter 13 assuming that she did pan out in her first few levels and you could continue using her, but does that carry over to her use in the late game? Utility in specific instances does not make her any more viable overall than she was when she was originally ranked- a good unit has a role that lasts across into the long-term and that has little to not inherent risk to get going, and Nyx doesn't really fill either. At least Charlotte fulfills the former, and Keaton the latter.

Felicia has Bow Knight. That automatically makes her have more utility than Jakob ever will. Her base strength, a str tonic, and forged bronze bow (which you should be making anyway) lets her kill any flying enemy all the way to chapter 16. Jakob can't replicate that level of killing flying enemies, which can become especially troublesome in chapter 13.

Nosferatu allows Odin to contribute more to efficiency than pretty much anyone in C tier will in the entire game other than maybe Nyx (especially in chapters 9, 10, 11, 13, and 16), and certainly more than Arthur will if you use him as an offensive unit. His magic pair up bonuses can also be quite useful and his paralogue is extremely desirable to go to where you can pick up horse spirit, which is one of the weapons in the game.

He's certainly better than everyone else in D tier.

You're ignoring tonics, the fact that odin doesn't have to fight said spearmen in chapter 9 at all (he should be fighting the center archers and it is possible to have him take on the first wave of spearmen and archers in 9 if you're being dumb and not going through the broken wall by Nyx), that Nosferatu lets him recover HP and he does survive the Oni's in chapter 10. He practically recovers as much damage as they deal.

Arthur's durability is not on the same level as Odin's. He can't fight ranged enemies as well and Nosferatu makes up for most of their HP and Def differences. He also has much higher accuracy thanks to heart seeker and better early game WT situations.

So he'll dodge 3RKO against unpaired Iron Onis. But not Steel or paired ones.

But how can you say Arthur is somehow worse defensively here? He has 31 HP and 12 Def at level 10, meaning that even with Nosfer they face the same ranges.

And again, WHY would we waste money on giving Odin a relatively expensive Tome for this, or use Arthur for that matter, when Silas already destroys these Onis without a sweat on account of ORKOing and good defenses? Heck he even ORKOs the Ninja with an Iron Lance, something Odin couldn't dream of doing.

Let me just start by saying that I do think considering averages is fair. I understand why some would choose to disagree with this line of thinking, but I think averages should be considered both as to not sandbag units too much who face middling growths and as to not open a "pandora's box" so to speak of being able to argue units up or down on the whim of them getting blessed/screwed in your game. So at least for this list, I think it's fair to assume units are generally at least near their averages how I wish Fixed Mode still existed. Now, on to the arguments;

I don't think Nyx>Keaton is plausible. Keaton has a good number of issues but I do think he can potentially bring more to the table overall than Nyx on account of good base stats, range issue notwithstanding.

Charlotte vs Nyx is a topic I expected to come up eventually, especially with things like Nyx being used in LTC. Obviously, Charlotte being the best GS bot for Xander is a gigantic boon, however I think that Nyx's contributions in midgame are worth noting; her start gets overblown in terms of how bad it is I find and at worst she'll end up as a glass cannon later. I also think that Charlotte's viability is more "dependant" on Xander, since without him she just supports worse units and makes herself worse by proxy, whereas Nyx is a bit more self-sufficient, if that makes sense. Obviously on a frontlining basis Nyx destroys Charlotte too, since they have a lot of similarities except Nyx sports 1-2 range. So at least as of now (this is very subject to change with more argument), I think Nyx>Charlotte is fair.

I think Odin could move above Laslow and Mozu, but I don't see him leaving D tier. He has too many issues (Speed and offense especially) to rise up too far, let alone to B. Nostanking is a neat little trick, but not an amazing one (especially since it can't double).

Nope. He just gets Fighter instead of Troubadour. He does have natural access to Renewal. I wonder if I should pass down Dual Support+ from his mom and Dual Guard+ from his dad Stahl to make him the ultimate pair-up partner, since he's not a front-liner.
