Mines and fishing mostly. Upgrading tools for next season is a good idea, if you have the cash to spare for it. Be sure to save some money for spring if you didn't stockpile seeds from Pierre's before spring ended. I always make sure to have a ton of money available in time for the egg hunt so I can buy shitloads of strawberry seeds from Pierre's stall, then I just focus on getting access to quality sprinklers and iron before next year so I can spam strawberry patches.

Jas mod update when?

I'm in Winter year 1, and I feel like I made a horrible mistake. I chose the Wilderness map because the eventual monster at night sounded neat. Unfortunately, it's not; very few spawns, and never any good loot that I can't get 100x over in the mines. Worst of all is that there's fuck all space to plant crops because there's two big bodies of water on the map.

Is there a perk I'm not noticing, or is Wilderness map really a piece of shit?

Which fishing skill is best?

Luremaster is garbo.
Pirate is meh.

I think it's a tie between Mariner and Angler, depending on how active or passive you want to be with fishing.

I usually rake in about 2k from a day's worth of fishing using prime locations, so angler would be an extra 1k every day, but I can use crab pots on days I don't fish, so idk...

Nah man. Do not underestimate the value of Pirate. We had a guy just last thread who showed what kind of shit you can get from treasure chests. Pirate is probably the only value that fishing has in late game, since nothing can compete with spamming cash crops for money and your generic fishing skill is all you require to get fish to fill out bundles.

Remember to plant some of everything for the bundles. Currently the default farm is still best for making lodsa mone, but if you want a challenge with less space and a different aesthetic then consensus seems to be the Forest Farm is the best alternative that still offers a decent amount of space (and that will only improve if the changes in the beta go through that let you build on grass and cut down bushes).

Take the original farm if you want to min-max, new farms lose out on too much space for the upsides.

Berries are still king, but by a smaller margin. I think technically, there might be some merit in other crops if you're willing to invest fertilizer because only 1 out of the three berries can receive a star.

It basically means that an event can only be triggered when you're dating x character.

Which also means that someone could work some new, previously undoable events like having consequences for dating more than one character.
Or, I dunno, discovering that Sam and Seb are actually A-OK with you dating both of them, maybe organising triple dates.

It was possible to get 10 hearts with them without dating before the patch, while all previous Bachelor(ette) events were 10 heart only but likely assumed you were dating because it was impossible to get past 8 hearts without it. With the variable, it'd be able to differentiate between the two.

Always watering can. After that hoe is your best bet too. Since you're in winter your main goal will be getting good farming tools to make the spring frenzy easier.

You'll want all copper tools before moving onto iron if you're still on the basic stuff, though.

Since it was brought up again I'll probably repost my theory as well. Due to how much the game is about community and family I highly doubt they will go for an infidelity plot. I'm calling it that Caroline is actually the Wizard's daughter that was born after his wife (after whom she got her bizarre hair color) left him to wander the Valley. Unlike him she knows they're related and that's why she went to the Wizard's tower, hoping to see her father.

Abigail is in turn his granddaughter and started showing weird traits (like her hair color) late due to being a mudblood.

Yes and no.

Non fruit saplings (oak, maple, pine) planted with 1 free square between each other will grow to full height, cobblestone or roads are ok. You can then plant a sapling between the grown trees to make a sort of big tree, small tree, big tree, small tree alternating tree fence.

Fruit trees require 1 square empty, with nothing not even rocks/branches/cobblestone there. Fruit trees also need to be at least 2 squares apart for them to grow to full height.

The top one is 20 Sprinklers, same as mine, yet in a different pattern. I kind of like that one.
The bottom one has 192 crops in it, but has 6 Iridium sprinklers (which I don't have access to yet).

That bottom one is far more efficient. I know what I'm going to aim for, provided the traveling merchant isn't a bitch twice every week. I appreciate the designs.

Store them? Earth Crystals are liked gifts to everyone but linus and pierre. Also used in the construction of mayonaise machines.

Abigail, maru, robin, emily, sebastian, willy, harvey, marnie like quartz crystals so I tend to carry a few when i go into town to give out as gifts. Actually I carry 3 of them when visiting the carpenter robin because 3 people in that house like quartz. Refined Quartz is used in lightning rods and quality sprinklers too.

I can never have nough quartz since I like to use crystal floors and crystal paths to decorate .

Yeah, you can manually edit the locations of the boulders, by editing your map file. I'd look up "move buildings by safe file editing" which is how I once moved my coop 1 square over.

My custom map removes that lake entirely. I put the boulders there to fill the empty space.

I'm going to remake my map and not touch and of the tiles already in place in case there's something tied to them, like the special weeds or forage crops, just remove the lakes and that one thick tree shit.

It is quicker and easier, but for a first playthrough I'd do the community center because it has more of an emotional payoff. Music building up, screen panning over the completed community center, little Juminos hopping up and down saying "Gud-Bai!" before they disappear, made the whole bundle collection thing worth it.

Actually I'd like it if I could ask villagers to tag along sometimes. Like take Kent with me fishing at the docks, bring Abigail along on an "adventure" in the mines, chop down trees with Robin or Leah, forage for berries and the like with the Kent/Caroline family, go mining for gems with Emily or Clint.

More or less what I do normally but with an npc (or family) tagging along doing idle animations like fishing or gathering or mining and them providing the occasional dialog. Would be more of a friendship than the 2/3/4/6/8 heart events and the random quest.

Well, for starters, don't save up for a barn or coop. Animals are a huge investment that take years to pay for themselves and even when they do, they'll never compare to farming crops if you're looking to make money.

Someone else went and made dialogue modifications for all of them, but since 1.1 added the divorce line, the old files could break the game.

It's not really hard though, just change the "male" to "female" in the NPCDispositions.cnb file and then change the dialogue in the different files files/events.

I did it myself now since the graphical changes still work.
