Depends on what you want to do with it.
Most of the stuff is gated by the inscriber or your fluix/charged quartz, which unless you've got AE2stuff installed, is a bit of a bitch to deal with.
A simple autocrafting setup with stuff crafted on normal crafting tables is really mechanically easy.
Maybe not so much resource wise, but it's relatively simple.

Working machines into an autocrafting network is a bit more autism, but still pretty easy.

Sort of.
An autocrafting setup has 3 real components.
>The CPU. (This is sort of for muh balanse reasons - affects work it can do, and stuff like that. If you've got more than one I think they can work in parallel, which is good for recipes that have a ton of crafting stages. I think)

>and ME interfaces with crafting upgrades (these basically store your recipes)
The CPU is, IIRC, composed of the controller and storage.
Higher your total storage in a cpu, the more complex recipes with more stages it can craft. Or something like that.

Assemblers do the crafting. You want to shove as many speed upgrades in these guys as possible.

To store your recipes, you need to use ME interfaces (grey things with the incepted squares) with a crafting upgrade. On an ME pattern interface, you can make patterns, which you shove in them. Each interface holds like 9 or something. With AE2stuff, there's a thing called a pattern table or something, with that, you don't need prerequisite materials, you can just shift-click on the "?" in NEI and it'll fill it up with ghost items.

Now, to make the assemblers and the interfaces play together, you just have to pattern them so that an interface is always touching an assembler.

Since there are two forms of ME interface, the panel one and the full block form, there are two ways of setting it up.
Full block ones touching assemblers are easier, and better for optimizing crafting speed at the cost of space.
Doing it with the panel interfaces costs more channels, and will lower your crafting speed (because the panel is only touching one assembler), but is much more space efficient (because the panel ones can store the same amount of recipes).

Basically just make best cpu as possible then shove assemblers with max speed upgrades and interfaced with crafting upgrades and patterns in an every other one grid, connect them, sort out any possible channel autism, and you're good to go.

To include stuff like furnaces, you have to use an ME interface set to crafting, an ME pattern interface (can't use the pattern table for ghost stuff), and a compatible wrench.
Same deal with pattern storage, each one holds 9ish.
To make the patterns for the non-standard recipes, you have to hit a button on the pattern interface to switch it from normal crafting to special crafting.
This lets you put in recipes that make absolutely no sense in a normal crafting grid, but might do in a machine, like 1 sand crafts to 1 glass.
Pop those special patterns in the interfaces, right click on em with a wrench, and an arrow appears on the side.
Arrow indicates direction of output.
You can do this with any machine, or anything from pipes to chests or stuff, as long as the system gets input what it things it should (it goes fug if it doesn't). So recipes that don't have a 100% rate won't work.

Output of the machine/nigger rigged logic setup/whatever can be input into the network using any normal input method (import bus, the side of the ME interface your using as an output, another me interface entirely, etc.)

And once you've got this all set up, you just go to an ME storage/pattern/crafting interface (these guys are the panel things you use to access the network - not the ME interface which is the grey thing you use to set most of this upwhose texture is nested squares) and you should be able to see the items you have none of but have patterns for in your various systems.
Clicking on that will let you pick how many you want to craft, the system will give you a confirmation screen showing you the material costs and if there are any shortages, and the system will handle the rest - intermediate crafting stages if it has patterns for them too, etc - if you've done it right.
If there are shortages of intermediate stuff that you have the raw mats, like iron bars in EIO machine chassies, make sure they have a recipe in the system

You can switch between stored/crafting mode, which means you can only see the option to autocraft if you've got none of the item in storage, stored mode, which means you can't see the option to autocraft at all, and pure crafting mode, which means you can only see stuff you have patterns for, by clicking the square think in the top left corner of the various interfaces you use to access your network.

You can also make it so export buses will autocraft the things they're set to export.
Might just be a button, or they might need crafting cards.

IE refinery is only for biodiesel. You might have options other than BC for refining oil in your modpack - Galacticraft, Traincraft, and Pneumaticcraft all add their own refineries, for example.

Am I retarded or EnderIO completely ignore user blacklists? I've tried using both brackets and braces and it refuses to let me combine a villager-filled soul vial with a broken spawner in the soul binder for use in a powered spawner. Not an issue of experience, it doesn't let me place either in the slot when the other is in a slot all together. I'm using the latest 1.7.10 release on forge (dated May 2015).

From what I recall, plugins like SkinsRestorer work by hooking into the packet sending subsystem and lying to clients about your UUID (an "offline" and logged in player's UUID differ for the same nickname, as the former is derived from the nickname while the latter is player-unique). I'd just use the forge -installer.jar and set up a skeleton server install, then copy in config/ and mods/ and tar it up.

fire up the vpshere client, or ssh in to your qemu-kvm vm host.
clone the base install debian or centos vm you'd normally use and set it up as you would with any other vm, then just scp over the tar and go from there.

Alright, I'm officially fucking retarded here. I've been in the mood for an RPG-like modpack with a world to explore and shit, and I discovered this. http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/teramia-mod-edition-open-world-rpg-with-mod-pack/

So naturally I download stuff and try to set up MultiMC to get Teramia to work. It's not my first run with the stuff, I use the right versions and all, and end up with some error that points to my graphics card drivers after I download Java7 so it runs, because 1.7.2 a shit. Graphics drivers did need updating, did so, still got the issue. I comb through some forum where the creator of the pack still posts an endless "update to 1.7.10 soon guys" for over a year now and I find someone else has successfully got the game to run in 1.7.10 by grabbing the newest versions of those mods and using the map download. The one exception is MinecraftComesAlive, where they downloaded "the first release of 1.7.10 Minecraft Comes Alive which uses the old IDs." Naturally the creator doesn't want him to release the working 1.7.10 version because adbux, so he can get new instruments.

I tried MCA-4.1.0 MC-1.7.10 which is the first release for 1.7.10. I've also tried through 4.1.4 as well as 5.2.2. I also thought to use RadixCore-1.3.0 MC-1.7.2, which was listed on curse as the first 1.7.10 download despite the filename, and put up a day before MCA-4.1.0. Probably both were uploaded around midnight is my guess. I also tried RadixCore-1.7.x-1.3.2-universal and RadixCore-1.7.10-2.1.3-universal. Doesn't matter, I still end up with 1157 missing blocks and items from that world save.

Anyone got any idea what version I'm supposed to use? Or, failing that, if someone can get MCA to work with 1.7.2 (or that modpack from the site) what starting values should I use for blocks, entities, and items in MCA.cfg?

What is it with mod-pack makers being put up on a pedestal these days, almost as much as mod authors? It's really fucking easy to make a modpack, unless you want to go full sperg with HQM and shit. But you get people treating their amazing skill at throwing files into the mods folder like it's something for their resume.

I guess it's just laziness on the part of most players, but it still boggles my mind the extent to which the community has stratified itself.

Guys how do I get back into playing modded minecraft? Used to play a lot of Tekkit and Feed the Beast back in the day and I love automating shit combined with arcane magic (loved Thaumcraft and equivalent exchange even though super OP)

What are the best modpacks that work like that? How do I find a small server with nice people and none of that "area claiming" bullshit. I used to play on a super cool server where people were just decent enough that you didnt need any grief protection (also we had force fields and shit so that made it harder albeit not impossible to destroy a base without cheats.

I've finally decided to make my first few Wild West houses. They will be made out of acacia, spruce and Chiseled Cobblestone like the first three houses in the area. This also officially "unlocks" semi-creative mode since I now have to turn off doFireTick just to keep these buildings from being set ablaze when I fight something with a fire hazard.

Still playing around with the plans, overall look and materials needed. I also have to research on which kinds of things Wild Western neighborhoods usually have.

I reccomend BoP or RNG or to use Climate Control to customize biomes. ZeldaSwordsSkills, TiCon, Balkons weaons and Hostile Mobs and girls for new mobs and combat. Recurent Complex for structures. Chisel, carpenters blocks, ztones for builds. And also reccomend that after you get bored with vanilla try a big mod like thaumcraft or IE.

We'd spend a day carving out huge ravines with obstacles and alternate paths/etc.
Once we'd built it we'd all line up at the start of it and spawn a block of water, and back in creative water would expand forever in all directions but up. Was fun to see who could get to the end, players who got swallowed up would jump ahead and build pits to jump over.

Finally tried tinkers construct

I'm honestly regretting it. Shuffling between 4 different menus to make 3 different recipes for any single tool, before doing the 3 recipes to craft the actual parts, before doing the recipe to put them all together and then doing anything from 1-2 more recipes and repeating whenever you want a different tool seems like a lot of tedium. I literally spent the whole first day in my "workshop" trying to make a pick and had to spend the night kiting mobs on the sea while using the same pick for self defense. Lategame looks downright OP, too

lads, I think they're going to get their DRM into our Minecraft after all. and it's the classic move: create a fake situation of concern, then move in when everyone is more agreeable. the malware version wouldn't have even infected anyone though, so it's looking like this was all a ruse to trick the community into policing modding to save curse and ftb's face in case anyone actually gets hacked in the future. give it six months and curse will require jars to be signed.

I think half of the reason I eventually move on to newer modded versions is to try out completely new mods that surfaces, and therefore the gameplay doesn't stagnate from other mods that have persisted throughout these versions

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I have a question about the WiiU version of minecraft.

Now, I play on my own modded minecraft server with some friends, it's a smallish pack but we all enjoy it.

My nephew however wants to play minecraft but find it's all far too complex but he still wants that joy of interaction with another player.

I'm wondering if Minecraft WiiU is worth it? It's the only console I own and I know it isn't cheap but if it is good and has people playing then I'll happily pay the cost so that he can play that when he's over at my place.

I'm looking at it in the estore right now but the pictures and videos don't really say anything.
