Work is proceeding quicker than I imagined on the remaining missions given the absurd amounts of caffeine I've been ingesting. Work is completed on 68 missions, all scripts are done and revised and I'm currently awaiting the remaining VA to be delivered by the people who were asked to participate everyone was more than cooperative when asked about it. Thanks a lot desu. I might push to try and finish it before this wednesday or thursday, but that's just a plan. Not sure how well the missions I have finished so far will react to ED being a piece of shit and apparently breaking static object visibility on online clients or any other shit they might have broken.

The campaign will be distributed in a .zip file and linked on the planefag pastebin mission downloads section.

If all is good and well until thursday, I'll attempt scheduling ops on friday, 2200UTC on the group. If not on friday, then saturday at that same time. The campaign has enough slots for 12 people in 3 flights (1x Mig-29A flight, 1x SU-27 flight and 1x Mig-21Bis flight), so, including the host and me I was hoping we could have at least 8 people going since leatherkek apparently broke the Mig-21 for some people.

Anyone got any experience with Silent Hunter? 5 to be exact. Playing unmodded, my first sub game and I couldn't get widescreen working in SH3 for whatever reason and I can't play it at 1024p on a 4k monitor if you paid me.

Having a lot of fun with it, still using the babby aiming method right now as I get used to the rest of the mechanics and tactics, but I've got a question regarding the damage modelling.

I'm playing unmodded, how good is the damage model? Does it make any real difference if you use AP rounds on the deck gun and aim beneath the waterline (the keel?) or just fire anywhere to do knock the health bars down (playing with them disabled so I can't really see any difference in damage or amount of water being let in)

Same with torpedo depth, what's the reasoning behind changing depth? Would hitting lower on the keel let more water in? Is that modelled?

No idea if it's modelled, but setting a lower depth might make it harder to detect, would be less susceptible to sea conditions and also have a better chance of hitting beneath hull armour; obviously there would be a better chance of it going under the keel though.

But if you're interested in having ops at times which are friendly to you, I recommend you try holding some ops at those times and seeing how many people show up, and then trying to adjust to more populated timezones. We do have a few resident yurops and bongs which could join.

First corner, pretty good, just work on those angles and not oversteering.

The rest pretty bad, but it's a car you're not used to, so that's understandable.

You seem to be getting hung up going around the outside of the whole corner after that first turn, the other two posts have a bit of that, too.

Maybe turn-in a little earlier and try to preserve momentum, knowing how much to brake for a hairpin is always difficult, granted.

It looks like you can't really "cut" those corners (note I've never played RBR, will check it out though) like the other anon suggested, maybe I'm wrong on that, though. Just try to stick as close to the inside of the corner when you're crossing the apex as much as possible. Allow the car to drift outward as you exit, if you counter-steer right this should happen almost naturally.

All things considered, there's a lot of hairpins that can't be cut in DiRT rally, as well, especially on the snow courses, so you shouldn't necessarily be focusing on cutting them, just hug that inside the best you can.

Outside-inside-outside, always.

The only thing I really didn't like about the series is that the baddies were literally useless and weak. The rookie from the MiG-23 and when they first got MiG-21s were the only times the enemy did okay. I assume this is probably more of the same but this was still during the Cold War so I can understand I guess.

This will be my final post in the general regarding the development of the campaign.

It is with immense relief that I announce that the development of the missions of the campaign is finished. All 8 missions are done and I only need to make some briefing images to call the entire thing finished 1.0.

I ran some light debugging in the form of running triggers to simulate shit going down in each mission but the actual testing will be done live, with players.

I'll take a short break and get those done soon. Expect release on thursday at normal ops time with perhaps very light player testing being done in the TS (would be announced if happening) and actual ops friday, 22:00UTC, if nothing goes wrong. This will be scheduled on the group.

Also I'd like to remind that the campaign consists mostly of straightforward missions as far as planning goes, if compared to most single-mission ops we've played to this day, excluding afghan ops of course. The lack of too much loitering is interesting enough not to bore everyone to death while flying, so it contributes to the Action x Boredom balance for the campaign as a whole.

Overall this has been extremely interesting to make and organize and I have a newfound respect for the people who make DCS campaigns, more so if they do it for free™.

Help. I uninstalled bms a week ago and now when try to reinstall I get this. I have the falcon ISO mounted.
