So, does the lube do anything different than regular lube, aside from giving your cum anti-gravitic properties? Does it give you a tingly feel?

>>155493323

That dress looks really off on Ashley and female Shepard, but goddamn, I just think it looks really hot.
>>
>>155498997
Sure it does. Makes the area around where it was applied lighter, for a time. Allows you or her to move faster. You might even your dick hanging upwards, pointing towards the roof afterwards.
There's a reason high-class hookers that bring in customers with antigravitic lube are called floaties. Their bodies have been exposed to so much of the lube that she suffers permanent side-effects, her steps are lighter and dance moves quicker. It's getting problematic, less experienced users buy whole tubs of the stuff and ingest it all and float into spaceports and get stuck in air-intakes.
Then the effects wear off, and the janitor gets to dust off his scraping tools.
It's really popular with basejumpers. They fuck up into the sky, then (if dosed correctly) the effects wear off before they suffocate, and they fall and deploy their chutes/Brake-jets.
>>
>>155494751
I like how her romance feels relatively slow building as a result of that.

Of course. With little armour except many ribbons of ultralight ablative soft-plates floating alongside her like sea weed in water, always seeming to be in the way of an incoming bullet. She carries few weapons, a pistol or a submachine gun. But with her grace she can dance through obstacles and perch on the frailest ad-projector in the seediest under-street of Omega, silently and quickly.
She might dance quietly, scouting and marking targets for her polar opposite, who wears powered legs and a suicide drone launcher/fabricator.
Or she flits around on walls and roofs as your enemies struggle to cope. Effortlessly avoiding streams of flechettes and frag-shot. As you pick the confused foes off while she finds kinks in armour and hidden paths.
She'd be fragile though. And even though she's light when she wants to, she's surprisingly heavy when not 'in the mood'. When her ribbons are all burned away, when she's weighed down by stun darts and riotfoam. She'll be helpless and beyond enemy lines. A quick rescue is necessary, or she's sure to perish, not even she can outrun a particle beam or portable missile defense lasers.
Maybe you decide to mimic her, buy a pair of roaring jumpjets for your suit and scream into the air as she soars silently, a little jealous that someone stole her 'thing'. Maybe the big bad might buy a harpoon launcher, and pull her from the sky, her limp body trailing oddly luminescent blood.

>>

>What kind of detonations does Concussive Shot give?

All of them, except the biotic ones. It can also detonate all primers for these combos... including itself.

Take the "Amplification" upgrade (gives the Concussive Shot the effect of the activated ammo power) and the "Carrying Capacity" evolution for your class talent (jacks up carrying capacity so much you can have a Mattock and a sniper and still get 160% cooldown) for extra fun. You can fire off a Concussive Shot once a second, effectively causing a fire explosion or tech burst every two seconds. I've been doing this for every mission, and occasionally complimenting it with a Frag Grenade or Overload/Carnage/Frag Grenade from a squadmate. Everything dies so incredibly quickly.

Year 2186. After the destruction of Batarian Hegemony, Cerberus became one of the most known and popular organisations in the Galaxy. Illusive Woman, also known as Willow Shepard - the former commander of Normandy SR-2, funded the project ''T-101'' and, with help from Miranda Lawson, created one of the most powerful armies ever been - human machine hybrids, made from titanium.
The Reapers arrived from Dark Space and started to attack. Their first target was turian homeworld Palaven and its moon. Assault was catastrophic for them. They faced the enemy, that quickly and with high firepower eliminated the Reaper forces. Illusive Woman called this event - ''War of the Machines''.

>>
>>155562565

That's a lot of salt sill. I do love them, too, though.

>and the crafting system is pretty frustrating

How so?
I don't really understand their reasoning for the weapons, though. If it's retro-scifi inspired by the -60s, why do most of them take designs from the second and even first world war? Why does the assault rifle look almost exactly like a Lewis machine gun (even if it was in service until early -50s)? You'd think they'd go for rifles like the G3, AK, M16, etc.
Fallout 2 even has the P90.
>>
>>155563468
They're really little bags though, the kind that go for 5:- a piece at times when the store has ordered too many and just put them in a huge bin.

The frustrating part is that you can't use scopes and magazines interchangeably, I can't take a scope from a hunting rifle and put it on a combat rifle for example.
And I feel there should be more decorations, less walls that look like mad max and a garbage heap had a child.
It's still pretty fun, but instead of having several options that serve different purposes, you tend to end up with one version that is simply better than all the alternatives when crafting armour and weapons.
If I was the creator, I'd make all the parts interchangeable, some may not work. A pipe-gun barrel on a laser rifle might melt but that'd encourage experimenting I think, you'd be able to tinker and come up with neat combinations tailored to your needs, sniper rifle scopes on laser-guns. Pistols with stocks and extended barrels.
Instead we have loads of tiny self-contained weapon mod trees with no interchangeability..

I just did my first playthrough of ME3 with her alive and on the team.

I'm outright shocked by how bland she is. She never has anything interesting to say. To anyone. About anything. Ever. Just about the only reason I haven't gone back to dump her as a war asset is that Tali and Garrus seem to like her... On one occasion ... because she never talks to them outside of missions.

At least Kaidan has his mental retardation and autism as a gimmick.

I played 1 and 2, and couldn't bother wth 3. I followed a bit of the story when the 3 came out but now I can't remember anything. What's the sortest possible run down of what reapers were and why they ere made. I remember it's something about them being a deterrent to something like an AI revolution.
>>
>>155635364
They're synthetics (based on organics) who harvest and genocide organics to make more synthetics in order to stop the organics from making synthetics that would inevitably kill harvest and genocide organics.
Also dark energy but they only mention it a couple of times in 2 so who cares, apparently.

Although, I'm in the same boat you are, but I'm pretty sure that's accurate.
>>
>>155635364
they are made to prevent synthetics to kill organics.
now let the fact that reapers are synthetics and kill organics sink in.
>>
>>155634389

Bad models for the characters. ME1s assets were pretty limited, it's surprising the game even worked.
>>
>>155635364

They're basically a soft retcon plot device. This was done intentionally so they could always make sequels to the games. The fix has been in since 2007 with ME1.

The lore reason is they're just the great galactic equalizer, cutting down races before they get too powerful, probably because they would then pose a threat to the Reapers. I think.

>>
>>155642382

>>
>>155635364

Organic beings who the Reapers resemble created an AI to figure out what to do about AI getting too powerful and wiping out organics. The AI's solution was to create the Reapers to exterminate all advanced organic and synthetic races every 50,000(?) years so that AI would never reach the point of threatening the existence of organics.

Their purpose is preservation of life, not of advanced civilizations.Exterminating Humans, Asari and everybody else is okay in order to give less advanced organics a chance. It's a stupid idea, but not totally illogical like the fan base believes.

I wish they didn't do away with the uncharted worlds in ME2 and 3, they were pretty samey overall but the interactions in the missions and often beautiful atmospheres of some of the planets (Altahe and Eletania) were captivating.
It really hits you when they're reduced to, essentially temporary storages for maybe 10 war assets in ME3.

All I want is a scene where Tali is looking at herself sideways in a mirror trying to push her chest out because earlier Jack had made a comment about seeing Ashley's tits way before the rest of her when she comes around a corner so Tali gets jealous and tries maximizing her bust while ignoring the fact that her hips are so wide she sometimes gets stuck in doorways and her ass doesn't even fit in the mirror frame. Also a side-quest where Shepard has to find the Normandy bra thief and it turns out Traynor is building a shrine to Ash.

Noveria is the best because it offers the most variety in terms of combat and roleplaying and it rewards being creative. There are several different ways to proceed and a compelling moral choice at the end.

I particularly love the initial quest to get a garage pass. The quest itself has several different outcomes and multiple opportunities to roleplay with plenty of dialog wheel fun and memorable characters. However you can even skip the thing entirely by going completely off script and giving the smuggled items in an unrelated quest to the Administrator.

Furthermore, those smuggled goods can either be returned to the shopkeeper that asked you to smuggle them, you can keep them for yourself, or you can rip off the shopkeeper by selling them to the intended recipient. Of-course in each case you can use charm/intimidate to reaper greater rewards.

More than that, if you keep the goods yourself the intended recipient will ambush your squad in an area that otherwise is "non combat" which will catch players totally off-guard the first time (ME1 does this in a few other places).

You have a few different ways to complete the "corporate espoinage" mission and much later when you reach Peak 15 you once again have several different ways to get through the port and reach the end.
Noveria just gives you so much freedom and variety. All the other locations in the game are much more linear in comparison.

Ah, edg'elord vas interpersonligt. The dreaded malequar. Some say he uses his dual pistols (named love and hate, of course) to strike fear into pirates, thugs and religious people. His trenchcoat conceals a mastercrafted katana, lovingly sheathed along his spine. It is folded a million times by his dead father in the ultra-monasteries of the white peaked hills of the rayya's dust and dandruff recycling center.
He believes in the superiority of a clear mind, free from spiritual influence. He listens to linkin park to aid in his meditation.

And his trencoat is stapled to his suit, it just kept sliding off thanks to his 'ultra resistant' teflon coating a volus sold him.

>>155708926
She looks very attached to him. I wish they made a version of her without the purple cloths and accessories, like Miranda and her open version of her suit.

That's what I liked about the red part, it wasn't the standard military green or 'good guy blue vs bad guy red'.
Instead of changing it, they should've given it more in-universe reasoning. Does the red represent the red blood that all humans have? Or is it perhaps just the colour the radiator panels during the production process?
Don't change things for no good reason, instead try to expand on why things are they way they are.

>>
>>155734438

He was good, not great. And the fact he wasn't part of ME3's writing is just another thing that can be blamed for ME3's quality. At the very least, he wouldn't have allowed the Geth to become Pinocchios on Rannoch and Ashleigh would've had something resembling a personality.

To all you masculine dudes out there
You aren’t inherently wrong for liking “stereotypically masculine” things
You’re not dangerous
You’re not dumb
You’re not creepy
You’re not ~fragile~
You’re not a rapist,sexual assaulter/harasser
In fact, there’s nothing inherently wrong with you at all!
You can be masculine, and you can be feminine!
Masculinity isn’t inherently toxic, just like femininity isn’t inherently toxic
The only things that’s important is that you stay true to yourself and take care of yourself
Don’t let anyone tell you that who you are is inherently flawed
You’re not a monster, you’re a lovely human being who’s worth the world
You’re kings, you are!

I wish the hardsuits of other characters also had things like knives. I like things that break up the symmetry a bit, like the heavy weapons ammo bag, and the regular ammo pouch.

Halo Reach had cool utilities you could add like wrist computers, extra armour plates, pouches and containers, not counting the stuff you could put on your helmet.

No, Balak doesn't strike me as someone who is naturally a sadist or murderer. Oh, certainly he has reached that point by Bring Down the Sky, but he clearly feels guilty about his actions and that is why he keeps trying to make Shepard (and humanity) take responsibility for it.

He strikes me as someone who lost everything when humanity won the struggle over the Attican Traverse. In his grief and suffering he turned to extreme batarian nationalism to fill the void.

Hey /meg/, have a few plot/lore related questions I was hoping you could help me out with.

So are all the Reapers made from the same alien/tech hybrid millions of years ago, or do they actually make new ones each "cycle"? On the outside, they all look like cuddlefish of death (other than their varying lengths), but we never see what's underneath the laser eyes and tentacles. I'm sure it was alluded to some how but I don't see any real variation in their backgrounds.

At the end of Mass Effect, Shepard was able to cuck Sovereign out of sending the signal to the keepers to open up the Citadel relay to allow all the other Reapers to flood in, correct? And after the cycle that takes place in universe, that signal couldn't be used ever again? IIRC in ME3 it's stated that the Reapers had to use sub-light speeds to enter the galaxy from darkspace, but how would they know Sovereign failed and it was time to move on their own?

Is the Conduit on Ilos still around or did it get destroyed/removed after Mass Effect? It would be a lot sneakier to send some teams through it to try and open up the Citadel arms and dock the Crucible then spend time assaulting Earth directly.

Who is your favorite side character(s) from the series? I was a fan of the Charr and Ereba :'(

IIRC Reapers are functionally the same, the only real differences are the races preserved in each. Each cycle a single race is selected to be preserved in a dreadnought (Humans, Protheans, etc) while the rest are turned into destroyers but that's it.

Sovereign was in contact with the Collectors who would have been able to feed him information and he should have been able to "see" what was going on through the Reaper artifacts spread throughout the galaxy.

I never gets brought up after ME1 but my guess is it was disabled after you are Saren went through it. That, or its another plot hole. Either is pretty likely.

Pic related. He is pretty much the only member of his species who isn't a fucking retard.

>So are all the Reapers made from the same alien/tech hybrid millions of years ago, or do they actually make new ones each "cycle"?
They build one Reaper per cycle. The T-800 they fill with human goo in the second game was suppose to be the 'core' of the Reaper unit (retarded idea, because what's the goddamn point of making it look like that, instead of just being a biomechanical sphere?).
There was suppose to be Reapers of several shapes, but that got changed during the production of the third game.

Sovereign sends a signal to the Keepers, then they open the Citadel relay. The protheans hindered this.
If the Reapers use Sovereign as watcher, and Sovereing has a communications connection to the rest of them (or at least Harbinger), it's not unthinkable that he'd tell them he's about to assault the Citadel. If the dark space relay never opens, they'd know something's up.
I'm not sure they bring this up, actually.

>Is the Conduit on Ilos still around or did it get destroyed/removed after Mass Effect?
They mention Vigil and how it just locked up, but I'm not sure if they mention the Conduit. It's possible that it's just shut down now, or maybe Vigil used the last of the power on Ilos to launch Shepard to the Citadel in the first game.

>Who is your favorite side character(s) from the series?
I haven't played it in a while, so I can't remember anyone special that really stood out enough to make it a favourite. Hackett's pretty cool. I prefer the shady, background spec ops Hackett, though.

Preview: Citadel DLC enemy count.

CAT6 total: 136 (101 Specialists, 20 Snipers, 13 Heavies, 1 Brooks, 1 Clone)
-Sushi Place: 53 (50 Specialists, 3 Snipers)
-Archives: 54 (34 Specialists, 13 Snipers, 7 Heavies)
-Normandy+Dock: 29 (17 Specialists, 6 Heavies, 4 Snipers, 1 Clone, 1 Brooks)

Notes: in cutscenes, Wrex kills six Specialists, whoever the LI is kills at least two Specialists and presumably more off-screen, the team as a whole kills 5 Heavies, Shepard kills 2 heavies, a sniper, and a specialist. This brings the total to ~153. The two other teams also likely killed dozens off-screen during the Archives battle, if they encountered resistance anything like Shepard's team. Total kill count possibly around 200.

There's really no reason why you shouldn't help Grissom Academy unless you're trying to speedrun through all the Priority missions. Or how she would let herself be captured by Cerberus alive. Perfectly put, Noveria really hits a sweet spot. Pacing was also top notch with the tense landing scene, slow burn scheming/detective Hanshan segment (complete with shooting the shit with 'Lee' the mechanic). Followed by building tension driving to Peak 15, and the whole series of events once you arrive.

Also I've played through ME1 more times than I care to admit and never kept the smuggled goods - that's an awesome twist I will have to explore whenever I eventually replay.

Depends on what decisions you make throughout the base game and if you have the DLC. Worst case scenario is Harbinger kills your squad during the last mission but its not hard to get enough points to get the best ending and keep everybody else alive even if you don't play MP.

As long as everyone's alive and loyal (except Ash/Kaidan, obviously), Tali was found innocent at her trial while still remaining loyal, and the geth heretics were blown up, you should be fine. Maelon's data being saved is also nice, but not strictly necessary, just ensures the survival of one minor NPC who gets introduced in the third game.

Doing well. Thinking how it'd be pretty cool if the (new) Mako had a smaller cannon that could fire more rapidly, with upgradable heatsinks to disposable ones.

There's a lot they could do with the Mako, I just wish they actually did it.
Upgradable armour, shields, sensors, weapons and ammo, ect.

I hate that the new Mako looks more like a buggy than an APC.
wouldve loved some actual tankdesign in ME too, the Grizzly just doesnt look like a capable warmachine.
something like pic related wouldve been nice to see in the battle of London.
>>
>>155899672

I think the Grizzly looks too much like the APC in Aliens. It looks like you can just barely sit upright in it, and in no way is it going to traverse terrain that's not a paved road.

I also just generally dislike the design.

I'd love something like that, a big rapid-fire auto cannon. Ejecting thermal clips as big as your arm every five shots. If you're lucky, you might kill an enemy with one of the clips, they're pretty heavy.

I feel Sttheo is a real hit or miss, his work suffers from adding excessive tacticool.

It really is, and it also has too much going on at times. Having a lot of detail is one thing, but it feels like his designs just have too much STUFF in them sometimes.

I was thinking something that fires about as quick as the CV9040 (https://youtu.be/Nj0q-sxKrvg?t=1m7s), and a thermal control system where you can either choose to let it cooldown passively, or click a button to instantly dump the heat. Although Battlefront is a terribly boring game, I did like the heat system.

In addition to being able to upgrade other things. Attaching heavier plating, upgrading and choosing between different kinds of shields (one that can take large amounts of damage but regenerates slower, another that can take a bit less damage but regenerates faster), developing better sensors that makes the radar see further and warn you of incoming missiles, maybe even active defense systems that has a chance to destroy the missiles, etc.
There's an incredible amount of fun things they could do with vehicles if they just wanted to.

Wrex. Both because he's worth more in every way from a pragmatic view, and because Wrex, Tali, Mordin, and Legion are the only squaddies who really matter to the plot. Garrus is completely irrelevant in the grand scheme (besides playing the role of "team member who helps Shepard shoot stuff", which everyone else does too) no matter how nice he is to have around.

Plus, I think Wrex's ability to actually call out Shepard on shit and even break off their friendship entirely if Shepard crosses a line instead of being 100% beta 100% of the time makes him a better friend than Garrus.

Agreed, it should be possible to become a stripper, escort, prostitute, etc. with choices mattering for each, in terms of risks and reward. Topless or bottomless, the ability to set your own prices, whether you'll only go with single johns or engage in group sex, and so on.

It's really lame that they didn't have proper strippers and private dances in ME2, despite trying make it more "DARK AND GRITTY BRUUH".
They should've gone a similar route as GTA 4 and 5 where the strippers have lewd outifts, and they get even lewder during private dances. You can even get two dancer in GTA 4, and they get topless in GTA 5.

The fact that they don't show any form of prostitution is a bit ridiculous, too. The entire thing just makes Omega look edgy as hell without anything to back up the claims.
It doesn't look any different than the Citadel. Like the police chief says, the wards are no different than the streets of New York.

I like his stuff, but I think it's too much of Korra and the other slut.
I haven't watched the show.

>>155984257

That's what really threw me off with Mass Effect 2. A lot of the characters weren't the somewhat grounded people we met in the first game, they were "writer's pets", designed and written in such a way that they very jarringly immediately took the stage.

I wouldn't have minded the "I AM OMEGA!" as much if it was done in a bit of a more subdued manner. Not so much exclaiming it, but rather stating it to Shepard in a personal way. "Fuck with me and you'll regret it" kind of way.
>>
>>155984257

>Kai Leng is simply the worst example of an ongoing problem: A self-indulgent writer run amok.

>If you look, you can find other instances of the writer making colorful antagonists for their own gratification. Aria is a strutting diva who gets flashy camera angles and gets to proclaim, “I AM Omega!” She has no reason to star in the nightclub scenes, except the writer liked the design and wanted to play Aria and they wanted you to participate by watching and playing the part of the dumb mook she’s got wrapped around her finger. That would be fine as a sort of “flavor text” kind of character, except that your paragon / renegade responses have been re-mapped to “moron” and “bootlick”. You’re not allowed to decide how you feel about Aria, because the writer says you think she’s awesome.

>Likewise, The Illusive Man is a chain-smoking shadow master with glowing robot eyes who sits in front of a dramatic backdrop. The Star Child is a glowing god that controls all the Reapers gets to smugly Know Everything while his robots ravage the Earth in the background. These people don’t actually have clever things to say, and in fact a lot of their dialog is shallow and dumb when it isn’t just clichés copied from better stories. But when they’re on stage the world revolves around them, because they have character designs that overshadow everyone else and the cinematographer is on their side to give them all the dramatic cuts and close-ups they need. When these characters are around the storyteller treats them like the protagonist and relegates Shepard to the role of their impotent sidekick / whipping dog. It would be bad enough if the writer simply made Shepard an inert observer of this show, but then they co-opt your dialog wheel and force you to participate.

This is so fucking true. These three aren't admirals or leaders of species. They're common criminals like the ones Shepard's team kills every week. Why do we have to take their shit?

No, it was just inspired by Bladerunner, I think. It looks awesome. I wish Bioware did something similar. Rain, neon lights, holograms and holographic signs, the light from the city lighting up the area in a diffuse way.

>>155977596
>I know, it's amazing. I even prefer the combat, actually.

I wouldn't say I prefer ME1's combat over all, but it does have some aspects to it that I think are sadly missing in the sequels. Namely, I love the big open maps, ACTUAL snipers who are ACTUALLY DANGEROUS, and I miss how sudden and unexpected ME1's combat events could be. In ME2 the entire game is divided up into "dialog areas" and "combat areas". You will NEVER get into a shoot-out in a non-combat area in ME2. However in ME1 the wrong choice in a quest could thrust you into a firefight without warning. Outside of the cut and paste areas on the Uncharted Worlds, it meant that on plot missions at least you never quite knew when geth or krogan or rachni might ambush you.

ME1's universe was more fluid and seamless. More "real" because of that dynamism.

>>155986852
>Why do we have to take their shit?

It is and it isn't. I think that Aria and the Illusive Man were lazily written, but none the less I do like that some characters hold more power and influence than Shepard. Shepard has become a huge power fantasy for most of the player-base, someone who can never fail, who can do no wrong, that anybody who is likable will always like and respect.

That's boring. It robs the interactions with any actual conflict or struggle. Characters able to talk down to Shepard and remain out of his reach are a good thing, in any story.

I wish some of the squadmates and Normandy crew could take opposing stances/views to Shepard's and even part ways their ideological conflicts with Shepard got too big.
>>
>>156027647
>but none the less I do like that some characters hold more power and influence than Shepard.

If written by competent people, they could've been done well.
Instead we get shit like ME2, where you have the player's power fantasy shoved aside by power fantasy.

Alright, so it's mentioned the Reapers are pointedly missing the Yahg because they aren't at FTL tech yet, but that seems like a terrible idea.

If they beat all the FTL capable races of this cycle, the Yahg might be stupidly far ahead by the next 50,000 year cycle. They're basically described as the perfect predators, and one managed to kill the original Shadow Broker and run his whole empire in secret. We don't even have any proof that he was a particularly smart Yahg. He's also overweight and has been living a sedentary life for who knows how long.
>>
>>156032918
They're also more violent and unpredictable than the Krogan. They'll implode in on themselves well before they become a major player on the galactic stage in the next cycle.
>>
>>156027647
>I wish some of the squadmates and Normandy crew could take opposing stances/views to Shepard's and even part ways their ideological conflicts with Shepard got too big.

Wrex, Tali, and Ashley/Kaidan sorta do that. They will get properly pissed at Shepard on occasion, disagree with them on issues important to them (genophage, future of the krogan, geth/quarian conflict, Cerberus), flat-out stop talking to Shepard if s/he's too cruel to them, and if you screw up really badly (or are intentionally a dick) they end up 'parting ways' by way of intentional death (also, Ashley can just refuse to join the Normandy even if she survives, because if you were too cruel/neglectful earlier she just doesn't like Shepard that much). I like them for that, it makes their relationships with Shepard seem more real and earned when you actually manage to build a proper friendship.

Garrus and Liara are an extreme example of the opposite. They will kiss Shepard's feet no matter what Shepard does and how Shepard acts, even if Shepard is explicitly treating them like shit or making a choice that disagrees with their deeply held principles, making them look like total bitch betas.

What's the comfiest stretch of the series?

Playing ME3 right now, rushed through the main story events (before Cronos Station) for the sake of chronology and am doing all the sidequests now. All my old space buddies are wracking up kills sacking Cerberus bases and following Reaper leads, no pressing and difficult mission to get to, just easy battles (which I sometimes let the two teammates handle alone), bantz, and conversations on the Normandy and Citadel for what is chronologically about three months. Pretty comfy. But not as comfy as ME1 pre-Virmire, if only for the uncolonized planets and the skyboxes.

Do you guys watch Because Science? It's pretty cool sometimes, and they made a video about the weapons in Mass Effect.
There are errors in the video, of course. The most glaring one would be the amount of energy dumped into the rails/coils to make the projectile move. Suffice to say, 86km/s is way too much. Around a hundred times too much, as in a hundred times the muzzle energy of a 7.62x51mm round.
Like they mention in the codex, recoil must be accounted for.

The codex do refer to the projectiles as 'tiny' and 'miniscule'. Grain of sand isn't far off.
And the only weapons to mention the shape of the projectile is that one shotgun you find on Illium. The codex does, however, state that the internal computer calculates how massive the round needs to be based on various factors.

>>
>>156120828
>The codex do refer to the projectiles as 'tiny' and 'miniscule'. Grain of sand isn't far off.

It is quite far off. "Tiny" can just mean in line with modern microbullets, for assault rifles anyway, around 1-2 grams, or about half to a third the size of their modern counterparts. That would actually be pretty consistent with what we see, if we calculate backwards using those rough sizes and assuming similar recoil to modern firearms to find muzzle velocity and muzzle energy. Which also makes sense, since it's stated in the codex that eezo only slightly helps deal with recoil, and that recoil is still the main limiter on personal firearms. On the other hand, "a bullet the size of a grain of sand" is like 0.0012 grams per round (Google tells me that the average volume for a grain of sand is 6.2×10^−11 grams per cubic meter) assuming a bullet made of pure tungsten, the densest material used for bullets. It's completely ridiculous.

Also, at his calculated 86 km/s velocity, every round would be explosively vaporizing on contact, due to hypervelocity physics. This doesn't happen. They deform or pierce like regular bullets, albeit fast and powerful ones.

>And the only weapons to mention the shape of the projectile is that one shotgun you find on Illium. The codex does, however, state that the internal computer calculates how massive the round needs to be based on various factors.

The Codex specifically mentions the rounds being designed to deform inside a target. It also says that, by default, they overpenetrate. So again, they can't be sandblasters with weapon velocities in the range where even tungsten starts explosively vaporizing (4+ km/s).

There's also the various weapon mods like Armor Piercing Ammo (explicitly stated in ME2 to "reshape and harden" the ammo), ME3's High Caliber Barrel, Shredder Rounds, etc.

I personally think the Citadel Epilogue Mod (paired with JohnP Ending Mod so it can work after the credits) is very much worth installing. Basically it just lets you play the Citadel DLC after the credits, bridging it with a simple text screen saying Shep recovered and decided to go on shore leave after the war, and modifies certain dialogue and emails to give the impression that the DLC is taking place after the Reaper War (usually subtly and well done). The party scene is the last bit of gameplay in the game in this version. The game ends with the "shore leave's over" cutscene, and cuts to the main menu soon after Shepard says "the best".

The whole DLC feels MUCH better that way. It's a celebration of your victory paired with one last adventure, rather than a moment of levity before near-certain death. Works great. Especially since, in the vanilla game, the Normandy team doesn't get any kind of epilogue, the game just ends as they're flying away, unsure of what happened and probably thinking everyone died. Except Shepard, who may or may not be suffocating in the rubble.

no, its the way the story is told. there was a article posted here recently explaining how characters like kai leng and the illusive man had build their character on shepards dialogues. basically it boils down to, shepard says something utterly stupid and or acts out of character just to make the characters look cooler with a snappy line.
this inevitably reduces shepard to a beta cuck bitch boy and there is nothing you can do about it. it feels just wrong on so many palces. with a female you dont really have that problem because you expect her to say stupid stuff and act retarded.
there it is, thats why femshep is better
>>
>>156152706
>Beta cuck
Stop projecting your shitty fetishes

And the character building from dialogues goes more for Kai leng than TIM.
Tim builds his character from his actions(although it's pretty fucking dumb actions)
to not support Shepards choices and relying on reaper tech which clouds his judgement.

Both shepards are on Equal footing, Just happens Male Shepard is better since
1. He's a male
2. He fits the role of a renegade hero bette than Female since Jennifer Hale can't sound threatening even if she was against a 3 year old.
3. Has the better love interest choices
Except for Tali
>>
>>156154047
>1. He's a male
he never acts male, he never take agency or takes things in his own hands, he just does what he is told to do by whoever he meets. Everytime I play as male I have the feeling I am restricted in my choices so all I can do is do as I am told without the option to state my own opinion.
that problem doesnt exist with femshep.

>2. He fits the role of a renegade hero bette than Female since Jennifer Hale can't sound threatening even if she was against a 3 year old.
thats just like your opinion man, meer sucks ass tbqh
>3. Has the better love interest choices
there is only 1 viable romance option and she is availiable for both
>>
>>156154304
>Just does as he's told
Mostly from his superior officers which is a good rule to follow in the military.
You know listening to command center.
All other missions which acts as side missions are optional after all, if you don't feel like taking them you can avoid it.
Thers a difference between seeing a oppurtunity that can befitting in the future and taking it and "Doing as told". You're just mixing them up since you're such a goodie two shoes kinda guy that wants to help everyone he can.

I agree but your character is set in stone in a certain premise. You're a militiary man and that's established. The missions you're given by Hackett/Anderson are nothing more than vague guidelines, in ME it's in everyones interest to hunt saren, hence the missions. In ME2 you're an outcast no one wants anything do to with and forced into an alliance with alread law breaking terrorists. In ME3 you're yet again faced with a bigger issue that needs to be taken care of. Your interest here is self preservation and the only people in power that'll help you only do so from getting what they want. How you get what they want is another matter.

I hated Hale's voice in ME1, I just didn't believe she was anything but an actor pretending, not acting. I felt like ME1's Femshep didn't have a clue and couldn't enjoy her scenes. Meer on the other hand I was just fine with. Hale improved in ME2 but I've always maintained that Meer did a better job than Hale.

Shame too since I usually make female characters, but in a dialogue heavy game, your voice being the worst part is something really hard to accept
>>
>>156161658
Lel. Hale is so much better than Meer in ME1. This post has to be bait.
Hale was better in 2/3 same as meer but still better overall.
>>

I imagine Tali would look like a child without the suit. The suit probably has a lot of padding. Probably has anorexic twig arms and all that.

>>156168696

>>
>>156167537
Her suit is full of internal components, padding and storage for food and medicine.
Luckily quarians are very tolerant to drought, they merely shrivel up, like raisins, their cells contract and their bodies become extremely dense. The suit recycles moisture and feeds the wearer the absolute minimum, along with various suppressants to ease discomfort.
Cybernetics bring this process to new extremes, inside the suit they're thin, shriveled up and dry like paper.
But an hour or so out of the suit, and with access to water. They balloon up, skin tightening, breasts expanding and wrinkles being erased. After a little while they're fully restored, completely smooth and soft.
Once out of the suit, it's very hard getting back in. Many elect to purchase a larger suit afterwards, like those that humans and asari wear, and send the original suit back to the fleet.

I just made it up on the spot anon. But the quarian suits are too tight to be worn 24/7 while still fitting shield generators, medical suites and food.
I'd have liked it if quarians were sensitive, but not sensitive enough to wear suits all the time. Just a facemask that can be removed during short intervals, along with some sort of soft-armour clingsuit..

Well apparently we must of, because in the Mass Effect I played Hale was weak and was pushing a 5/10 at her best in 1. Femshep sounded out of place a lot of the time.

Mileage may vary and all that but I'd take Meer sounding like Shepard actually belongs in his field than Hale making Shepard sounding like she watched a Star Trek episode.

Like I said, mileage may vary and all that

And my opinion is that it shouldn't have been Hale. She under performed and absolutely needed to get better. I started as Femshep and DID shelve ME. I restarted with Sheploo and felt the actual personality. Sure it was nothing to write home about it but I at least didn't hate it. Hale completely failed for me. Meer at least didn't make me role my eyes every line.

That's my opinion, sorry you can't deal with it

Nah desu, ME3 suit is the best.

>additional plating on arms and legs
>still has her pattern in the cloth wrapped around her thigh

The only flaw is the lack of that targeting system that she had in her AAP ME2 suit.

Yeah she really grew into that. I have a real question here.

My girlfriend has been marathoning through the series and Mordin says in ME2 that the average lifespan of a Salarian is 40 years, but according to the Dalatrass in ME3, the genophage has been in effect for a thousand years.

So how was Mordin involved in the creation of he genophage or is he over a thousand years old like Liara's dad?

It''s supposed to give synthetics the understanding of how organics perceive life and organics how synthetics perceive life. The thing is, The reapers are bretty big and bad. Having them understand how organics think and work doesn't exaclty completely change their perception of lesser species. I mean batarians are going around slaving people. Destroy is the only ending that matters since it's not retarded.

They could''ve just fucking ended it there with Anderson and Shepard sitting, it was perfect, they'd both see the crucible set its arms on the citadel and start whirring to life and blowing the reapers out of the fucking galaxy. Have the ending be a couple of scenes with different characters on their homeplanets and the dialogue changing depending you were renegade or paragon and who you saved, maybe even have the LI talking or something special like that.
