Range directly affects accuracy which directly affects the amount of ghost bullets you'll run into at medium and long range.

If you're good enough to know your effective range in PvP and only fight engagements in it, then you'll be fine without any range perks.

Never played Warframe, but Destiny grind is has gotten a lot better than what it was. Sure there is still rng, but stuff like the Day of Iron set is really reminiscent of Halo armors as you outright earn it through commendations. Ranking up a faction now lets you pick whether you want a random Chroma Armor, New Armor, or Weapon at or above light level. Quests like the Ghorn are not up to rng, but doing them feel sort of like a grind.

Depends, are you dead set against PvP or are you ok with trying it? PvE end game is still just 1 raid and 1 night fall strike per week, per character. You could also grind heroic strikes too if you want.

The majority of end game content is still very much PvP centered. There's no reason to min/max armor for PvE as a competent team is usually enough to get by. But grinding for god roll weapons and high stat armor is half the fun of end game and taking your try hard set up into sweaty matches is the other half.

On a semi-related note, I just read through the entire book of sorrow grimoire cards and I have to say it's pretty good. It starts out as a bunch of autistic ramblings and made up terms but it slowly starts to make enough sense that you actually get enough of a feel for how the hive think and behave and understand their personality. It also has some humerous moments once Oryx's kids are involved. I hope the new SIVA grimoire cards as just as good.

I'm sitting at 345, and I've hit a bit of a plateau, since I don't want to jump into heroic strikes and get carried unless I'm at least ~347, but wasn't Forge supposed to be the "primary means of character progression"?
