What's a good set for gunlance? I'm currently HR5 and I started unlocking the S armors in the smithy. Any lance is fine, but I do prefer normal type.

Yeah, I'm an awful player that gets carted, but I try my damn best not to when fighting monsters. They don't even know how skills work, they had roughly 15 different skills at 1-3 points with all sorts of assorted decorations, and only one of them out of the 4 have done any village quests.

Yes you can save edit charms to make it easier to attain a rare charm with desired stats that completes your set and you can call the method of attaining that charm "cheating", but there are no illegal charms in Generations.

Drilltusk Tetsucabra armor is my favorite overall. I use Seltas right now since I'm on a gunlance binge and it looks cool as hell. I use Glavenus otherwise at least until I get the Drilltusk set put together. I wish Drilltusk gave a different pair of abilities though. Tenderizer is great and Guardis alright but I'm not too keen on Scavenger and Adrendaline.

And the Scavenger half of the Drilltusk skill is actually pretty nice, if you're a resource jew like I am. The fact that it can proc off of ANYTHING INCLUDING STAMINA INCREASING ITEMS that you 'consume' gives you multiple chances at the start of a hunt to top off your stamina. I have multiple stacks of mega dash juice that I have sitting in my box for a rainy day, since I can just pop a (purchaseable) energy drink, hot/cold drink, potion, or psychoserum at the start of a hunt for a ~25% roll for an 25 stamina

The Scavenger thing is pretty interesting though. I'm not often at a loss for stamina anyway since I always eat and carry energy drinks but it would make saving Mega Dash Juice easier. Although the reason for having MDJ in the first place is to make guarding easier more than anything.

if you're ever gonna get a handle on Adrenaline, Drilltusk is the set to do it with. Guard+2 means that any Drilltusk user is most likely Lance, GL, or CB maybe madmen SnS as well? ; all of which save SnS have beefy blocking and turtle options. Play conservatively and get a feel for how much extra defense Adrenaline gives you and learn when you can use that extra 30% total damage to lay into the mon and ruin its day.

I suggest you make Grimclaw armor with the Focus OOO. With the Tigrex GS with one slot (the only one you should use anyways), you can get Crit Draw, Destroyer, Grimclaw Soul (HG plugs + Speed Eating 2), and Focus.

I want to get back into this series but I can only play on an emulator and I'm not sure if any of these games have issues in their emulation. I only played MHFU on the PSP and was really into it, I almost beat the whole thing but I never bothered with anything else. I'm thinking I should play MH Tri on Dolphin or Portable 3rd on a PSP emu. I want something that is quite different, with a lot of new monsters but I don't own a 3DS. Lastly does Portable Third have an English version or at least good translation?

That's the problem, Zinogre is not a consistent threat in the first place, and even when he charges up he's still kind of a pushover. Zinogre is not fun to me, it's kind of a drag watching him strut around like an idiot, then throw a tantrum before slaming his back into the ground like Rick James or some shit. Brachydios, Tigrex, Seregios, Rajang, Glavenus, Yian Garuga, Shogun Ceanataur, and Gore Magala are all good monsters that maintain a relatively consistent level of aggression despite varying in difficulty.

With tigrex I can feel the aggression but chasing after him when he charges too far is fucking annoying, molten fixed this with the quick turnarounds in rage phase but all the blastblight kinda ruined that and brute fixed it with shorter charges but less challenging not that the tigrex charge posed much of a threat anyways

That's the point you dingus. It's the same affinity as CE 3 but for half the points, so you can get other skills. You can even stack up CE 2 on top of RO in a lot of cases. For fast attacking weapons it is also very easy to keep active. Pierce gunning and dual blades gets the bonus pretty much all the time unless you keep missing like a shitter.

4U GR monsters hit harder and there's Apex as well, which are annoying. It's definitely not impossible, but you need much more practice to pull good clear times if compared to 3U or FU.

That said, wasn't there something about GS getting guaranteed status procs on a Lv3 charge? Could be purely bullshit for what I know since I just stick to raw weapons since Capcom hasn't figured out how to make element much good for it.
